It gives me great pleasure in finally announcing a much needed win for PSL Ressies, wahoo!
A very good and fair game between two closely matched sides. First 10 minutes was Eyes, who had more than a few good chances to go infront, we soon settled after this and played some good football with Braggy whipping over a deep cross for Ben Ferguson to latch on to and beat the keeper well.
Eye kept plugging away at us but the goal gave us enough confidence to hold off most of their attacks for the first half.
Second half started and as expected Eye came out all guns blazing and putting us under pressure, but we kept to our game plan, EVERY player getting stuck in and winning the ball back when we didn't have it. I was released down the wing, full of confidence after a cheeky nutmeg (which was claimed in the first half, though I then spooned the cross) and took on the full back in my new right-wing role, before whipping over a cross-shot (more of a cross) which sailed over the keeper in to the far top corner.
I ran away from my team mates debating whether to lie and say that I actually meant it, but realised that they would never believe me anyway, they soon caught me and at least 5 molested me, not that I was bothered at this point. :kissin:
Again all credit to Eye as they did not give up and came back at us again, being rewarded this time as we struggled to clear our lines and the quick number 9 slotted home from close range.
Wobbly legs were now setting in and we were shaky for the next 5 minutes, but unlike in previous games we sorted ourselves out and battled hard, about 10 minutes from the end, Jonny was on to supply a superb cross for Ferguson (who had been stood around for 40minutes in an oxygen tent) to volley home well. By this pont I had broke a nail (literally)and had to go off.
Hats off to both teams for a cracking match, played in the right manner. Well happy for our lot, new and old as this was the result we needed to hopefully get us going again, a good all round performance.

Bring on the final!
