View Full Version : Predictions??
Back of the Net

Anyone care to have a go?
I'm no expert but we all like to see what everyone thinks the scores will be!
Leverington Sports v Stamford Belvedere 1 - 2
Long Sutton Athletic v Alconbury London Road 0 - 4
Oundle Town v Crowland Town 1 - 2
Parson Drove v Ortonians 2 - 2
Perkins Sports v Whittlesey United 1 - 3
Peterborough Sports v Hotpoint 0 - 5
Pinchbeck United v Moulton Harrox 1 - 3
Wimblington Old Boys v Uppingham Town 0 - 1
Disagree with at least 2 there back of the net, leverington will win, beat Bels 2-1 and we certainly won't beat PSL 5-0 ! Perkins will probably just do Whittlesey by the odd goal and Wimblington and Uppingham will draw, so that's more than 2 then !
struggling from the booze you sank Saturday still Spec?
Leverington Sports v Stamford Belvedere 2 - 0

Pinchbeck United v Moulton Harrox 2 - 3
Wimblington Old Boys v Uppingham Town 2 - 1

Harbs, that must either be a barbed comment based on the ref you have doing you never giving you penalties, or I am about to be set up for the biggest betting scam in Peterborough League history, so no can do fella!
Opinions so far indicate that our game is seen by everyone as being a tight one to call, which is where I am at to be honest.
From the original predictions, I would have Leverington beating Stamford Bells, but possibly agree with the rest. Interesting one therefore is agreeing that Whittlesey are favourites to beat Perkins, which is based on recent form rather than perceived strength of the respective teams.

Think ortonians will win as we played very well against them at our place and lost 1-0 to ther only shot/header and if we create as many chances as last time thne we will score!!
Crowland, hotpoint to draw
Whittlesey. alconbury, leverington, Wimblington allto win also
Recovery alright cheers Spec. Is that matt leftley who broke his ankle? Spoke to him on Sunday and he was hobbling and in a lot of pain. See you sat mate as will be down cheering on the draw!! Mines a becks - first one this year!!!
Can't buy you a beer Foggy, as that might be construed as what happened at the Talbot regarding Carl Harper ha ha ha ha ha !!!

Please feel free to buy Foggy a beer Spec - won't be construed as inproper in any such shape or form. Not everyone sees conspiracy and dirty deeds around every corner. (even when they probably should!)
Agree that use of words "pressure" and "desparate" are ridiculous when applied to our level of football and I thank you for putting me and sick note straight.
Most appropriate word would then be that the "onus" is on Parson Drove & Hotpoint to beat us in the next 2 games - fair?
From my point of view, yes for sure, a win for us would certainly put the cat amongst the pigeons but like I said earlier we still have a tough game tomorrow before then. As for Drove I think the onus is on you to beat them to be honest because any points dropped tomorrow would put more pressure on the side going into our game, especially with the master tactician away on holiday, and if you are still being brutally honest Tommy your past few wins against us have been down to your strength on the bench and your ability to change formations. Now we have strength on the bench makes for a potentially good battle. PSL first though and we owe them one for a defeat at our place.

Leverington 3 - 1 Stamford
Long Sutton 0 - 2 Alconbury
Oundle 1 - 1 Crowland
Perkins 2 - 0 Whittlesey
Pinchbeck 1 - 0 Moulton
Wimblington 2 - 1 Uppingham
I do feel Perkins will have a much better second half of the season
if they keep Micky Graham in the side as he gave them a bit of bite
which they have missed previously.
And for you Tommy....
Parsons Drove 0 - 0 Ortonians
The defences will win that one.

Ah Mr Anderson - welcome!
Seems to be 1 result missing from your predictions Phil? can't believe you have already settled into fence sitting mode with your current club.
Thanks for the point at Parson Drove, though the clean sheet costs me a round so would have preferred 1-1.
Remember Mr Anderson - you are the source of my inspiration this season (Sunday June 26th 2005 14.20pm - sat in bay window - Royal Oak public house)

less of the sicknote tommy!!!
Spec, sorry to hear about the lack of beer!!! Pressure and onus are good words and sure all teams at top and bottom feel it.
not sure about the bench comment, more we seem to end games better as either fitter or the age of ur back four???
should be a good game - looking forward to it although will be very frustrating for me!!!

Yes you have already mentioned that to me
and if you are successful in your quest to lift the
Premier Trophy again. I will not accept any responsibilty
as Beer talk does not count to inspire!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also Tommy on the fence-sitting part... Every game for us now
is to be played like a cup-final. To predict on your own team is tempting
fate. And in a league like this, more so now than ever it just does not seem that form counts in any fixture

Robbo you of little faith how about a 5-3 win for Ortonians and a league title on the way.
For god's sake have some confidence. Tommy will take the title. Best manager best team. Sorry Spec but you are close second as always.
It should have been the PFA CUp too but while we have certain people running our league with vendettas it makes it so difficult
I wish I could get a bet on Woodlands gettinga game replayed even trough they played a suspended player
Yes you are quite right Chris, looking forward to seeing them in action on Saturday showing my team how to play football properly. My lads also can't wait to be taught some new tricks and learn even more about the game from that masterful Ortonians team, just being on the same pitch as them will be the highlight of our teams's career.
thanks for that Chris don't think you understand how much faith and confidence I have in the team but there you go. looking forward to the game Saturday like I said to some of the Hotpoint lads Sunday win or lose we will have a beer after the game . and the best manager and best team is the team that win the league Chris. I love winning and I so want to win the league as it's my last season. but if we don't then I do hope Hotpoint win it . all the best Saturday spec and your boys see you in the bar. p's. theres more to life than footy

Robbo - always the diplomat, would love to win the league also but will feel less part of the achievement due to the injury!! Will be a good game sat and am looking forward to it, I beleive if we can keep a clean sheet or restrict them to scoring one then we have a great chance of winning but as i said to brads, we can almost afford to lose and it not be a disaster as moulton to play hotpoint twice!! Spec and robbo will join you for a beer after especially if a clean sheet and a robbo round!!
Judgey and his vendattes!!!
You are always welcome at our place Robbo and whatever the results have been between us in the past we have always had a good drink together afterwards and it will be exactly the same this week, although your beer has tasted a lot sweeter than mine in the past !
Good luck Saturday and win or lose on the booze.
