We again struggled...mainly with fitness (well i did), playing only our second game this year, against a very different Bretton side to the team we beat in our first match against them. Think I only recognised one or two of their players from the last time.
It was a good game played in good spirits and even though we lost again, im not about to top myself this week as we battled hard (new and old lads) and were unfortunate not to get a draw, a very dubious offside decision costing us equalising at 2-1 down, well it was n't dubious at all really as the player was not offside, it was just a terrible decision all credit to Bretton though as they immediately attacked and put the game beyond us.
I was cheered up by the fact that Jamie Browett played for Bretton and missed a seven yard sitter, amongst some other spooned shots...love you Jamie :clap:.
Still alot of positives to take as our 'new team' try and start to get used to how each of us play.
Also a shock to see Pinchbeck ressies losing to lowly Doddington and a much improved Werrington only just losing to Wimblington...are the lower teams in our league starting to improve? Could make for an interesting second half of the season in our league.

Just out of interest slim... did Dean M, Dave Hanny and Kev Schnieder play for ya in that game??

You should count yourself lucky. i wasent playing or it would have been 10-1 minimum
yes we have a few new players i had to introduce some young lads to freshin the team. as for jamie it was his 1st game & im not surprised he missed from 7 yards, somethings never change? And i doubt that jacko would have cheated you out of a goal as he costs us enough times from not putting up the flag ha ha

I have to say that the performance was much much better than when we played against Werrington. As Slim said it was only our second game since middle of December and have got pretty much brand new half of a squad!
Everyone worked really hard and we played well at times. Still need to improve over the next few weeks before our cup semi final game however if the lads continue to play with the same effort as they did then I can't complain.
Apologies to Jock as it appears I broke his rib during the game :batr:(no wonder he went down like a sack of sh!t)!
Slim - glad you come on here n told us about jamie's real attribute to the game - he came in the bar at psl and said that he gave you the run around and every shot he had he was unfortunate not to score from :whs:
However he did fail to mention he missed from 7 yards out, jamie mate you are a legend n if you ever get contracted to the bbc for ' JACKANORY ' i will make sure i watch every episode :clap:

jimmy i'm surprised you've never reported me to the cambridgeshire constabulary for the amount of times i've raped you over the years:kissin:. sometimes being a perfectionist can hinder you but what you fail to mention slim is my "near misses" were about 35 yards out and its well known that i can't score inside the box! :lol: just ask any fratteli's or scarletts players for proof of that statement after my half way line cup winner on sunday morning:clap: hehe

hate complementing you jb but was a great goal,mind you you did try it before and were still waiting for that ball to fall from the skies.least it stopped me having to take a pen.cheers mate!

He's sh*t anyway. i think ive only seen him score about 3 goals in all the time weve played together and they were flukes.
Im looking forward to saturday though me & him in midfield again after a few years absence. I can actually get forward from midfield & do what i do best score goals!!!!
