Bloody PFA Cup, we have been thrown out and it is still haunting me. As PSL & Leverington are replaying their cup game on the 28th, we are now playing our friends and rivals from across the city - Hotpoint.

Most upsetting is that this is the only Saturday in the season that I had arranged to be away on holiday, and West Africa is a little too far to nip back (um, I wonder?). Weather could always intervene, but I have no doubts that Robbo, Wills & Jeary will have the team well prepared, though naturally it is going to be a very tough game for both sides which could go either way.

We first need to concentrate on an equally tough fixture at Parson Drove on Saturday, so this is a vital 2 weeks for us - if we can avoid defeat in both games then I think we will be in a decent position. Having points in the bag does currently give us some leeway so I suppose in a sense the pressure will be on our 2 opponents?

All good fun though and you have to play everyone at some point.

No pressure on us Tommy whatsoever or Parson Drove either I should think, they know they are too far off the pace to win the league so can enjoy stopping you lot, you always beat us so we are expecting you to do it again anyway and finally you were the one in the press saying you will win the league as you have been there before. Whatever kind of pressure do you think we are under ?

spec who you kidding - you desperate to beat us and u know it!!

2 big games tommy, should be good!!

Feel if we beat hotpoint and parsons then ours to lose as if we lose both then title will be up for grabs although we still in strong position with moulton and hotpoint to play each other twice!!

Always a cracking game against hotpoint and see no change this time, am backing the boys to come through with 6 points though from both games

what odds you give me tommy??

Thanks league for doing us no favours again - coming bit of a habit, hey mark!!!!

In true Spec style, will adopt the fence sitting diplomatic approach and say that both games are 6-4 each of 2 with the draw at 5-2. In fact that would also be my odds for title with Moulton the slight outsider of the 3 now.

Surely no-one can slaughter me for those odds and supporting comments? (but probably will)

I think that makes the double 5.25/1 Foggy

Mark has nothing to do with the League fixtures Foggy, but quite happy to blame him for most things if you think it helps!

Foggy I am certainly not desperate to beat you, I have more important things that occupy me in my life, of course I want to beat you but desperate sounds as though it has got to happen.
Have a huge game to deal with first this Saturday as do you so we will look at the situation next week before the stick starts flying !!
Hope the recovery is going well and if you need a hopalong mate then Big Matt is also in plaster so you can recooperate together.

 And there's me deleting inappropriate and abusive comments about individuals on the site. It has been some weeks since I have been blamed for anything. What next? Bird Flu? Get well soon Foggy

Thanks Mark - as you could tell, that kind of thing is water off a ducks back for me, but can see that it might offend some people and put them off posting.

Trust you had a good holiday?

Both teams warmed up for this game in some style then yesterday. We were awesome in the first 40 minutes yesterday, and were 4-0 up after 25 minutes - let Drove back in just before half-time but scored a 5th midway through the 2nd half.

We were a bit disapointed to let in 2 goals in the 10 minutes - the 3rd right on the full time whistle, but have to be happy with that. (Phil Anderson - your predictions just get worse!)

"Onus" still on Hotpoint to get something out of next weeks game, though whatever happens the league will not be won or lost on the back of this 1 game.

May the best team win!

I cant say anymore than I think Ortonians will win, purely based on previous results!!!

That's a very strange reasoning Lozzaman, Tommy we don't care what you think, Saturday will see the start of a proper football team coming into force.

Leave at about 5pm this evening - couple of leaving shots: -

1. Yes I do think we will win the league - was a Liberal fence sitter until the last couple of weeks, but switched to an arrogant full on Tory for a bit, though I do believe it will be very tight.

2. Above belief will not be affected by the result this Saturday one way or the other. It will still be in our hands no matter what the score.

3. I have not written Moulton off at all - they are only 5 points behind and there is a long way to go.

4. Don't think Parson Drove or Crowland can win it now, so prediction at the start of the season that it would be 1 out Ortonains, Hotpoint or Moulton still holds true.

There is an Internet cafe next to our Hotel in The Gambia, but I am going to try and stay off the site (Bob Hope) until I get back on the morning on Feb 4th when we will be in County Cup QF action - every game's a cup tie from this point in though!

Message from Seb Hayes Tommy:

"While you are on your travels in Gambia can you look out for Momodou Sanneh. He played for Oundle last season and is a Gambian international (allegedly!!) and done a bunk with an Oundle tracksuit.

If you see him, can you get it back for me Tommy and there's a beer in it for you!

Cheers."

PS. Mark - can you please re-send me my registration email as deleted by mistake. Cheers - Seb

What name have you registered under. I will then delete and ask you to register again

Yes Tommy unfortunately my predictions are as wayward as the defensive
partnership of Boumsong and Bramble! Hopefully your backline will have their prowess on Saturday.
Shame you will be away, there is talk of the Oak lads from the two sides
going to Stamford afterwards for Micky P's birthday
