well what can i say!!! WHAT A GAME:clap:

The game started out very pacey and real march had the early possesion a knock down into the box was put over from 6 yrds out. should of been a goal.but after 10mins or so a mistake at back caused stilton to be one on one . and there striker took one touch to compose himself before firering the ball in the back of the net from 12 yards out.

this followed by some more pressure from march, the ball being played mostly down the right hand side of the pitch. stilton then scored again. a great run by the left winger who collected the ball from a clearance from a corner and then wipped it out to the edge of the box where a stilton player was waiting to latch on to it. the ball eventually finding the back of the net off the post.

real march's heads didn't drop once and i had a great run into the box and the stilton keeper pulled of a world class save to stop the ball going in, also the stilton keeper miss kicked the ball on the edge of his area and the ball feel to the feet of smudger but unfortunately he could keep it down and it went out.soon there pressure on the stilton defence paid off when dicko was put through on a one on where and struck the ball in the back of the net.

gazza i'm sure will agree they were lucky to go in at the break 2-1 up. we were happy with the way we were playing and we just wanted to start the second half as soon as possible. we were right up for it in the second half.

the second half got under way and straight away we were piling on the pressure but the bucket full , we played some really good football and anyone from stilton must admit were were all over them for 90% of the half.

i want to give credit to there left back, i can't remember his name he played really really well . he pulled of some vital tackles to stop march entering the box.

there were a number of free kicks awarded to march on the edge of the box but were unable to get the equalizer. with ten mins to go a pass back to our keeper nearly resulted in an own goal, the classic ball going under the boot of the keeper happened , but the defender managed to beat the striker who was poised to smash the ball home for a 3rd.

final score 2-1 but as their manager said " you boys deserved all 3 points and should of one by 5 or 6." It was a great game and we played really really well even though we lost and i look forward to the last game of the season when we play stilton at their place.

i jst hope gazza has the ball to come on hear and tell it how it happened. and i hope we have the respect of some people who think we're just a middle of the league team. we played great football today and on another day it would of been different.

gazza if you don't know who i am, i was the one who you had a tangle with on the edge of our box. you played well mate! your younger than i thought. good luck for the rest of the season.

i'm just really really gutted that we lost.
:mabub:

Think that this is a fantastic result for stlton, potential bannana skin and with Mr Baines missing due to work commitments. Your man marker must have been lost Real March.
Harbs also very good reult for you boys did you add to that tally of yours?:whs:

Mr harley i sure id.
played my worst game of the season.
6-0 to eye luke elso missed 5 one on ones!
Mike, i think you will have to win a few games to get any respect from people that rightly think your a mid table team.
you lost to a weak Stilton side mate

I think Real March produced a brilliant display and were only done from a gritty Stilton team who dug deep and dug out the result they needed. They were missing a few players but Real certainly deserved something. I think they are capable of taking a few points off some of the higher teams and are a potential banana skin for anyone.

Well played to both Stilton and Real March.

Good win for you Harbs as well.

certainly was ate and had the pitch been better i think you woul have seen a royal battering! but the race remailns tight lets just see if the cup causes stilton league problems as they already have 3 games to make up!

A fantastic result for us on Saturday, i was worried to say the least on our trek to Christchurch, not just because my bladder was about to explode, but the absence of a number of our most influential players meant a bare bones squad rolled into Christchurch certain of a battle.

If we were to win this game it was going to be by 1 goal, of that we were sure, our team consisted of defenders and defensively minded midfielders and Richie Baines who worked tirelessly for scraps. The whole team needed to fight for everything and dig in til the end.

I cant be bothered to write your report again as it is fairly accurate, although, the first half was not one sided, in fact i would say we had the best chances and more territory.

Second half, backs to the wall job apart from the first 10 mins. Our defence was superb especially our goalkeeper(awesome handling under pressure), everything pumped into the box was dealt with brilliantly. MA and Dicko caused us problems, and Zeke Rowe is class.

Overall, Real March did well and definitely had more of the game, but as far as we are concerned it's job done, a huge hurdle overcome and a morale boosting victory that sends us to Warboys with all our players back on a high.

Michael, you have fantastic potential mate i am sure you will play higher, also despite the rubbish on here a nice guy. :kissin:

:)
Good luck against the other top teams you will get results if you can keep that team out.

Sorry, i forgot to mention something.

You may never see it mentioned again (some may not even believe it) but on Saturday Matt 'conehead' King got himself on the scoresheet, with mostly defenders in the team, we needed a goal from one, and Kingy chose a good game to fill his goal quota for the next 3 years.

A 'sweetly struck' half volley from the edge of the area found it's way in off the inside of the post to give Stilton a valuable 2-0 lead.

There, you can relax and stop whinging now!

Good result for you gazza, should make for a very interesting run in between stilton, eye & warboys. I still just fancy eye to finish top with stilton a very close 2nd, followed by warboys in 3rd.

Yeah, a great result, gave us as much satisfaction as a win against Eye, Warboys, Manea etc would have. Well done lads.

And also, fantastic support, an absolute hike out to Christchurch yet a whole gang turned up to cheer us on, class. I am expecting a fair few this weekend again.:)

are we bringing a full strength team over this week? seeing u scraped by march an blamed it on ur missing players?

if so can we say that this will be a good indicator for the final league standings?

I think that is a little harsh on March. They played really well and deserved something.

I think in a different thread you were quoted as saying you was playing badly and lost to Eye because you were missing your captain. Can you only play when he is there? And what i have seen is yes.

If you are talking of scraping results, i think Peterborough Rovers were hard done by, as if they had someone to put the ball in the net they would have done you. 4-1 was very flattering.

Yes Stilton were missing 3-4 players but could Warboys cope without the Captain, Boucher and Scarborough. I doubt it very much. Take them out and play against March and i think you would be very surprised with the scoreline.

No ur wrong roy, i said that we were beaten by the better team on the day, not because we were missing a couple of players, i dont look for excuses as 2 why we lost, we didnt perform an we lost, that was it.

peterborough are bottom end of the league because they dont have a good finisher, wats ur point? if they had one they wouldnt be a bad side cuz they can play tidy football.

wat a plank!! of course if u took the backbone out of any team they would struggle. wat a pointless comment. 3 good players without doubt but how would u cope without 3 of ur good players u herbert.

have a think next time roy.

Maybe you should have a think before you write, you have just had my argument with yourself. Stilton were missing 3-4 of their best players against March and they still won. And i said could Warboys cope with that.

Again if Peterborough could have put it away they would have done you.

Dont think it is me who is the plank.

watever, i do.......

wat ur sayin is...... a team near the bottom of the league cannot play good football, of course they can but its the ability to turn football into goals that seperates top half teams from the bottom half ones

look at for instance fulham,..... struggling this year respectively, they play good football, they lack someone 2 stick em in the onion sack an end up in a relegation battle, not comparing rovers 2 fulham but as an example.
