Harbs you may be right, what with the weather and lack of refs I would be amazed if all the games went ahead - I hope ours does though as we didn't play last week.

Oh and for the gambling streak - 1.30 South - KEON 9/1 and 3.00 South - ANDORRAN 7/1.
Both e/w and a double..... fingers crossed could halt your 'bad-beat' streak....
I'm off work this week so having the odd punt (only lose change as usual tho!)

Your tips are sh!t Sean - the last one didn't even come in the top four and I put £40 on it! Harbs - was two seasons ago, you had left. Wozza, Waytey, Hutch and Coxy were still there.

errr Raph how much did we collect as group end of season last term, on my tip?? well over £400 wasn't it? better than yours which i've never collected on hahaha...

Raph got both goals to take us too 2-2 in that game and then took the 5th pen aet and scored to take us through - quality game

Decent Acc and a decent bookie would surely go 12/1 or bigger, But I stopped laying bets 3 years ago (stood a book at Henlow for 9 months - broke even after paying the X's - tough job!).

Lost 3-2 to Netherton who probably deserved it as we were not very good!! Could have nicked at least a point if we could convert our chances but scotcher did miss a sitter at 2-1!! Stillin our hands but makes it interesting now!!

EMAP v JNE - 1-3
Netherton v Fratelli - 2-0

Come on Raph/Sean take those blinkers off:nono: Seriously though will be a good game (shame not playing) but with Jamie and Duane playing we will run out winners as your guys never faced anyone like them before!!

Racing, Netherton, JNE and Lord burghley all to progress!! Cracking game in store between Westwood & 252 if both sides at full strength

I am surprised that they are still allowed to play Sunday morning football now? !!

We faced Jamie pre-season - he scored one against us and we drew with you guys. You can't put your own team down for a loss JNE, you have to believe that you can win any game you go for. Our formation of 1, 5, 4 - with me holding the defence by myself, should be fine!

25-01-2008, 13:56
yeah just wear your knee braces fogs :)
best not to play on a sunday when your intoxicated it makes for a possible injury!
i agree with you raph always believe in your side.
however i do think jne will be too strong, fingers crossed 252 can win the clash again (missing for the 4th time, gutted)
Netherton to win and im going for a Parkway win the boys have spirit so im going for an upset.

JNE - we have faced Jamie and Duane before pre-season (I'm sure both played, if not at least 1 did) and Scott informed us before K/O that it was almost his 1st team playing in this friendly, yeah he was missing one or 2 but so were we....
We drew 3-3 and to be honest we outplayed ya and should have won after hitting the bar twice and the post once....
Of course pre-season is different and you boys have to be MASSIVE favourites, we know it's going be an uphill task but you gotta believe!!!

Tommy - I hope you're right and both of those 2 strikers are out on the town in Oxford, it could offer us a bit of hope!!!!

I emailed Scott today and cleared the game with him, as far as I know it's all on as I've not heard otherwise. I thought Scott would let anyone else know that needed too your end, would you do it mate?
K/O 10am and we'll be in our newcastle/juve colours, back to The Windmill in Orton after for food and a beer yeah?

Both of em made it back for the game and JNE ran out 2-0 winners... it was 0-0 at HT and we honestly had them rattled with a couple of them on Yellows for silly retaliations etc....
Fair play to them though, in the 2nd half they got 2 good goals as we tried to push on, thats 2 decent prem teams in 2 weeks and we lost 2-1 and 2-0, gutted but not disgraced at all!!!!

for anyones that's interested.... we do match reports for www.yellowjersey.co.uk (http://www.yellowjersey.co.uk) (sunday footy) for EMAP FC ...
here's todays....

We go 4-5-1 with Karl asked to harrass the oppostion when they have possesion in a 5 man midfield, this drops Tom to the bench which is harsh as he's notched loads for us and is a quality player, but all round we need the pressure in the middle and decide Ben gets to run at them up front 1st half saving Tom for 2nd half...

It works a treat with the score level at 0-0 HT, JNE are visably shaken with 2 of them carrying Yellow cards following EMAP hard tackles and them losing their cool and retaliating, just as we;d hoped they we not happy as we snapped away at em, we had 2 or 3 half chances that with a bit of luck would have got us a goal..

2nd half we decide to go for it and bring on Tom, JNE turn it on and get an early goal which results in us pushing forward and conceding another, we lose 2-0 but in all honesty we feel we could have got something if converting 1st half chances, JNE certainly knew they were in a game and their big game players paid us due respect after the game...

We're gutted to go out but wish Shakey and his lads all the best, I hope they go on to win this comp after knocking us out....!
Great spread back at the Windmill (Orton) afterwards, Luke makes us feel welcome and I'm sure away teams appreciate it all after facing the EMAP at home....

Man of the match is well tough in this one and it's shared... Mick, Raph, Sid and Steve get it, 1stly 2 new centre backs in Micky and Rapha were immense and going forward EMAP are looking solid with those 2, not a foot wrong really, then Sid at centre Mid - what can you say, wins EVERY 50/50 and I would hate to play against him, then Steve at left back, battled hard all game and really got stuck in..

Mentions to everyone else really... Ryan (centre back) in goal held 2 or 3 shots well, Si Kem back to fitness looked strong, Tom and Ben up front did what we asked and held it up well (it was tough getting up to support you), Dean for workrate and the MEG on Speechley which resulted in him rugby tackling you and getting a yellow card it had us all in stiches.........

Roll on the league after this performance!

Heard it was a good game

An honest assessment of you guys (not from me as not there) was that u worked hard and as you said got in our faces but you were lacking that bit of quality that makes the difference between prem and div 1. Always thought we were going to win due the lack but no disgrace as you said in getting beat 2-0 by the champions!

Just thought I'd mention racing went out on pens with Tyler missing - Oh there is a god!!

Have been quick to criticise you Raph but I will be just as quick to tell you well played mate. For you personally a good performance for 99.9% of the game. Sean tagged it about right but I would have made Si man of the match, the way he has come back from mediocre form to top draw against real quality was great to see.I agree completley with everything else Sean said.Foggy you are about right, you had a little more quality than us that took you through. No sour grapes but losing key players thro' injury during the game messed up our game plan a bit.

We lost yesterday to Lord Westwood on Pens after the match ended 3-3, we were very disappointed after the match as we dominated most of the game and we lost due to the shocking decisions by Reg Parker who should not be allowed to ref as he is S**T and the fact we didnt put our chances away. Westwoods first goal was due to the ball going of the pitch by over 2 yards so we stopped to take the throw & Westwood carried on and scored and Reg allowed it to the amazement of all the Westwood Fans who confirmed it clearly went out and all our players!! and then Westwoods second was from a free kick which should not of even been a foul but you can not take anything away from Joes freekick which was well struck. So all in all we were gutted but thats football so good luck to Westwood in the next round and we will look forward to getting revenge in the next league match also good luck to the others that went through to the semi, anyone know who won the Lord Burghley v Parkway match as I know it went to extra time as well?

Hairy

By the looks of it Lord Burghley won!

The semi final draw is in the PFA section which confirms this.

we have all been on the end of bad calls from Reg in the past, the worst for me was in the simi pfa cup V deeping 2 seasons ago we lost 3-1 thanks to 2 more then dodgey goals allowed to stand, our defender got kicked in the head while standing up right and heading the ball and an offside which the offical lino gave and Reg waved away.(i still havn't forgiven him for that)

but he is still a very good Ref and without doubt in the top 6 in the local game.
