The Build up begins here
Its a big weekend for the Vauxhall Division 2 League, as tittle challengers Eye Sports travel to Warboys, who currently sit at the top of the league 3 points clear but with a game more played. While both teams will arrive at the game high in confidence after big victories last week, it will prove to be one of the top games of the season. Whats every1's predictions and thoughts on the road leading up to the big game ahead.....
im sure Fen Tiger will have a Warboys thumping, while Pat will see it swinging the other way.:soo:
Eh up pat, Yeah it will b a close game i think, but we dont want no blemishes on our season so we cant wait 2 play these boys, we will have to much quality going forward. An our defense isnt bad either.

Yeah should be a close game but with our forwards on fire and even harbs banging 1 in( i dont no how either) i think this will be a comfortable eye win.:)

I've played against both (away) this season and I'd have to go for a draw - Both teams look very sharp going forward but very beatable at the back and not much in it at midfield either, just couldn't split em really based on what I've seen.
I'd say whoever marshalls their midfield and defence better could nick it by the odd goal on the day perhaps?
Advice to Eye - play Luke up front against their big centre back and fire balls in to his feet as often as possible, Luke would beat him with the ball on the deck every time - any high balls and balls over the top and the centre back will win it all day long.. (Luke played for us in the Warboys v Rovers game so he'll have some info on the them)
Should be a good game, stay on your feet harbs and you'll be ok hahaha....
I actually thought the Warboys lads were a great set of lads to be fair, good tough physical game and a decent pint plus food after.

right lads i agree this is a very big game for both sides.having played both teams and thought both sides were good bunch of lads i go for 3 2 win in favour of eye.reason is played warboys twice and we were unlucky not to get summin from at least one of games.played eye once and we had our forcefield out in front of goal to help us.so win for harbs but who nows with youth of today ???innit
this is for simplyme- we hav around 10-11 new players signed on from last year,
the lads are under the impression we are very beatable at the back, i think that our defense has been the building stone from which our season has been built, our goals agaisnt is the best in the league, hence why sometimes we hav come away with 2-1 wins an results like that, which is why several teams feel unlucky 2 have lost 2 us,
at the end of the day 3 points is 3 points no matter how you get them.
2 games this season we took a spanking once against Langtoft (me thinks) and we had no midfield (2 strikers in the middle) once against Stilton and we had a winger and midfielder at centre back.
unfortunately these games caught us out because they were good teams and expolited our weaknesses.
we cant have any excuses now (cover in all areas) and dont plan on conceeding more than 1 goal to any team in the league again.
if you keep the same team tho War-boys you may be able to join us and Stilton in Div 1 next season?

yeah it is, he's jus being clever an tryin 2 say we can go up next year.......
end of the day ur stats show ur more than beatable so throw in a few ringers an u might make a game out of it...
im not trying to be clever im just telling it how it is, and were actually resting some players against you, we got a big game against Stilton next week.

Should be another good div 2 encounter and again makes me sometimes wish i was back involved there.
Think it will be a close one, but hopefully with Eye winning.
Warboys were always a solid team, but definitely must have quite a few new faces to be at the top, though i dont think it will last (just my opinion fen tiger so please dont abuse me and tell me how crap i am as its christmas and i get upset).
With Elsom up top and in form think any defence will struggle to keep him at bay.

for me the loss 2 manea was the shock result of the season
how do u think u'll fair agaisnt them, did u loose narrowly last time?

Manea pulled off their best win against Stilton with out a doubt.
i know some stilton lads and the squad they have is quality.

Now i got that out of the way..Yeh we got id say 8 new starting players and prob 3 or 4 more for the bench so a good 11 new players, THAT IS why were top of the league maybe every1 else should av tried it this year! I also dont understand how u can slate are defence as fen tiger said its the best in the league at the mo, an also wats up with the midfield??

I've been reading this for a while and for what its worth, we played Warboys in the cup earlier this season and turned them over 4-1! They were nothing more than a mediocre Div 2 team that day!! We were by no means playing our best and never looked in any trouble. Think boucher had two shots maybe!!
So what's altered since then Warboys? You boys either must of added to the squad or improved 6 fold to be sat at the top of that Division!!

Banter aside, every time we have played Warboys they have improved and they have come into a bit of stick from others, although warboys warrior and fen tiger haven't helped their cause!!
A Warboys win would certainly answer the doubts many of you are having about if they will stay there etc.
An Eye will would shut the warboys two (or one?!) lads up for a bit
So all round i predict some good banter to be had!!! Bit disappointed not many Div 1 people lurking about as miss the regular discussions predictions etc!!
well if nothing else at least you've been able to join in in Div 2, i have a feeling you will see the banter pick right up in Div 1 next season.

we both play for them but thats it,
jus for mr. coates who has popped up recently, when we played you a few months back we were un-fortunate 2 be missing 5 starting players for that game an you rightly beat us. it was sods law that when you need your best 11 you end up with a depleted team. but we cant complain it was our lack of depth not yours, you deserved that win.
are you still in that cup?

If the warboys v eye game lives upto this banter on here it should make for the game of the season in Div 2. Big game for both teams and warboys have defo improved bigtime over last couple of season's.
I will go with an EYE win purely because i know a lot of the lads there and the quality they have in there side. Good luck to both teams...

Fen tiger the team couldnt carry Micky as he to bloody heavy now lol! (sorry bud just couldnt resist) but in all fairness Micky has had a pretty good season and as the old saying goes 1 man does not make a team although Fletch is a quality keeper, i am sure every team that has played Whittlesey Res will tell you they have 11 smashing players.
wat news are u lookin 2 hear at 3:45???? who's won the annual dyke jumping comp in whittlesey? nevermind that, if you have a look on here 2mora at 4:45 you might find the warboys vs eye score pal....

i mean 3-1 and 3-0 at half time with a big wind on our backs.
im not even going to delve into the game just now, im still enjoying a well deserved drink with the lads but i wont be on again until tomorrow evening after getting the **** kicked outta me against the westwood boys tomorrow morning!
absolutely loved the game, shame i have come away with War Boy wounds but they will heal i got 3 points for my pain :)

congrats to the eye boys great result not just for u boys but tightened it up for the rest of us!! the last unbeaten record has now gone i believe! great pre match banter from fen tiger and harbs :batr:made the game a whole lot enjoyable for the rest of us me thinks! first result i went for at full times last night, sod the fa cup scores lol!!

Omg, did that really just happen, i cant believe after all that hype we managed 2 deliver a performance like that!!! we were dreadful, i bet eye really couldnt believe they were playing top of the league,
full credit to the eye boyos they had a game plan an they really went about it in an envious way, lots of hunger an passion.
our biggest mistake of the game was 2 have 2 play agaisnt the wind in the first half, we would of taken one or two nil at half time i suppose but 3-0 absolutley killed us, we couldnt chase a game with tiring legs 3-0 down,
