Does anyone else agree playing this close to Christmas is a joke?

I useed to hate playing so close to xmas, just because it was drinking time.
The flip side was, you played football and then all went out together any way!

I think its just a pain from a managers point of view having to shuffle players back and fwd from the 1st to res to 1st etc etc

langtoft understand its hard to shuffle the pack this time of year but unfortunately the standard we play at if the pitch is fit we should play on it. There is already a big enough back log of games, why waste perfectly good saturdays. Plus what else is there to do on a saturday?

Well I could understand if it was a UCL standard or higher there is money involved etc trust me I love my football on a saturday just as much as anyone if not more however I think players who simply play for the love of the game shouldn't be expected to play over christmas, I would much prefer to squeeze a few extra games in come the summer.

o love christmas games. it allows you to get away from all the bol***ks and get to have some fun with your mates. and there's no pressures into rushing off after games as your usual commitments dont usually count around this time of year.

have to agree with langtoft on this one...the league i feel gets done to early in the summer ( even wiv a back log of games )..this time of year is more a family time and when you working like a t*at all year this is the best time to have a little break and spend with your kids etc...i personally would love there not to be a game this weekend.

Understand what Bratts and Langtoft are saying no doubt we have all got more productive tasks set by our missis and children this time of year but christmas wouldn't be christmas without going to some council ground with no hot water and frozen solid pitches without playing football? Also if we have to lose 1 fixture should it not be the 1 between christmas and new year(29th). That is surely the date its harder to get full strength sides out isn't it?

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!

We have a game between Christmas and New Year? At this rate I may get at least 6 under my belt by the end of the season!

Mate, you shouldn't say things like that to me!

Good goals on Monday - shame about the defending, haha - I think we need to swap positions next week!

Does OZZY still ref the game in that brown leather jacket ??????

No come to think of it he has now got that 1978 world cup replica kit he wears these days .

He met my mate in yates one late afternoon / early evening during the week for a beer wearing his full ref kit complete with his molded boots on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ozzy is a legend & does not own a yellow & red card .

nah the big man refused to play out of principle as he thought the powerleague were being out of order. pity though i had a good squad waiting to have a game if we struggled.
