View Full Version : Pinchbeck Res 1 v Psl Res 2
Well we took the drive across country to 2nd placed pinchbeck reserves knowing that to keep am outside chance of the league alive we needed 3 points. A thank you to the pichbeck manager who agreed to delay kick off until 2.15 as some of our players were stuck in traffic.
The game gets under way at a fast pace with both team going all out attack to try n get that early goal. Thankfully after 15 mins that goal comes our way as milne beats 2 players cuts inside and drives an effort into the bottom right corner of the pinchbeck goal 0-1 psl. Psl continue to keep the pressure on but for some strange reason 10 mins after going 1 up we take our foot off the gas and pinchbeck start to get back into the game and before long the are level following a goal that is probably one of the best i have seen this season so far. Halftime 1-1.
After a rollicking n half and a change of personnel at halftime, we took to the pitch trying to get that edge on our opponents only for it to be put on hold as one of our players was red carded for an off the ball incident. However that didnt hold our advances as we continued to play the better football and push for that goal. Again our advances were put on hold as a reckless challenge in our area resulted in another psl player being red carded and a penalty given to pinchbeck. I am thinking what the fcuk is going on here n i must admit i couldnt watch the pen. Thankfully the pinchbeck striker put it wide of the goal and we are somehow still locked at 1-1. For the next 20 mins we are pretty much on under the cosh but do manage a few attacks but to na prevale. 10 mins to go and we brake down a pinchbeck attack and after some good pressure we force the pinchbeck centre back in2 a mistake that allows jo deboo to pick up the loose ball and slot it under the keeper amd win us the game 1-2. A great performance by my 9 lads for majority of the 2nd half and 3 fcuking big points :clap::clap:

it was a very good game yesterday and it was nt the centre bak who give the ball away it was the centre midfielder. it was a very physical game and there were only 4 players who played well for pinchbeck
my apologies dicky boy....it was a good game played at pace with some good hard tackles from both sides, game could have gone either way n i be honest when we went down to 9 men i was thinking the worse, whether our when was down to pinchbeck over playing at times or us defending for our lives i not sure, even tho we won, pinchbeck showed why they are 2nd in the league, cant wait for the return game should be a cracker.

We started brightly, full of confidence after last weeks performance against Netherton and deserved our lead, but fair play to Pinchbeck, they came back fast with a great goal from a corner and could have gone in at halftime a few infront.
The game was spoilt a bit by a few handbags being thrown around :mabub:and silly sendings off *bkk*, though i think both were very harsh. This kind of got the remaining 9 going though and resulted in a cracking defensive performance by us.
Can see why Pinchbeck are up there though, mainly young lads, confident on the ball and a decent centre forward (minus his penalty miss).
Well happy with the result, considering beating a good team with 9 men.

It was a great game, wish I had been involved more but getting the ball smashed into my nuts for the second time in 3 weeks mean I was running the line for the second half. Bratts forgot to mention the quality of the ball through to shane for his goal, a superb 35 yards pass perfectly into shane's run.
Pinchbeck played very well in the first half but I think we defended very well in the second half. I don't think anyone knew really what positions they were playing, it was a case of get behind the ball and get a foot in wherever possible! Great effort from the 9 on the field. Also must mention Ritchie making a couple of excellent saves in goal which kept us in the game.

Braggy you wimp - deep breaths and get on with it ;)
I'm guessing by all the posts from PSL that they are very chuffed with the result?
Pinchbeck are at home to Crowland this weekend which could be very interesting.
Chuffed! Chuffed!....we are over the moon mr apple!! wouldnt you be? I mean going away to play against 2nd in the league, being reduced to 9 men and still winning the game!!!

Apple - Crowland could be tough or easy, depending on which team turns up!
Though we beat them they played very well against us and on their day im sure are a good side, but they seem to have lost matches that you would not expect them to lose, will look forward to hearing the result.
We have Long Sutton and a real chance of upsetting them but im gutted as i will be missing it :( hopefully the boys can turn them over and do everyone a favour.

Slim Bratts , i can asure you we will give pinchbeck a game on saturday & not be a pushover at all ( what ever side turns up ) .
We wont make it easy for them at all.
Even the games we have played poorly in & lost this season we have been well in the game , apart maybe from Ketton (away lost 6-0 , we missed a pen & hit crossbar twice , even though we had a very threadbare 12 players that day ) & Doddington at home where we was poor & possibly Long sutton at home.
We have a good squad available for sat at moment , with a couple of injured players back in ,But like most res sides we could lose a few by 2 pm sat !!!!!!!!!!

Paul - Got my fingers crossed for you chap, hoping you do cause a bit of an upset, gives us all a chance to close in on them and even better if our lot beat Long Sutton, unfortunately i will be in Dublin drinking 25 pints of guiness, but will ring my bro for the results as soon as they are in.
Good luck.
oops mr lucas you spoke to soon. 6-1 was the final score ( to pinchbeck )

Yes will give you that Mr Apple !!!!!!!!
I think 6 -1 flattered you boys a bit & some of your spectators even agreed.
We did nt play well 2nd half & fair play to you boys who upped it a gear & deserved the 3 pts in the end.
Did nt help losing 4 players this morning , 1 to 1st team , 1 working , 1 could nt get back in time & 1's wife had a little boy ( congragulations MR & MRS MOWLES ) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , But thats not an excuse you have to go with what you got & thought both sides played some good football in 1st half.
You took you chances well & we didnt. Football is simple sometimes.
Thought your keeper had a good game & made some good saves especially at 2-1 in the 1st half.
Not the end to 2007 i wanted but never mind .
All the best in 2008 paul
