Well done to Whittlesey United on their top performance versus Moulton Harrox. It has been so easy for people to mock their defence of the title this term, which of course has been disappointing. However having lost the backbone of the side in Taylor, Morris and Goodayle it is not a surprise. However Lee has put together a fresh side of late and this latest result has opened up the title race big time. Good results for both Ortonians and Hotpoint, although the latter result would probably rank higher. Lets not count out Crowland Town or Parson Drove. Off to Spain in the morning so enjoy the week at work lads!

Not sure the leaders winning 7-0 opens up the league Mark, but then like a lot of us you're not a big fan of Ortonians are you?
Your Maths is also not really up to scratch. Ortonians have dropped 8 points in 16 games so are on track to only drop 15 for the season, which means that Parson Drove would have to win every game and Crowland every one bar one - not really feasible.
Still any 1 from 3 - got to be Hotpoint for me with the quality players they have.
ps Well done the Posh Kids this morning winning 2-1 and with the Oak going out we are left to fly the Peterborough flag.

Have to agree, lee is rebuilding a quality side and could be a real force next year again!!
Ortonians have to be favourites wit both moulton and hotpoint to play each other twice and take points off each other!! Also they have been there and done it. Come on posh kid, don't let your hatred rule your head!!

I honestly don't think you can call anyone a favourite out of the top 3 - I think Parson Drove will have to beat us in a fortnight to stay in the race, and Crowland will either have to continue on their current form of winning every game or hope we all blow up.
Naturally going to say that I think we are more than capable of winning it - just don't need to many more injuries like Darren Fogg though.
Couple of additions I have made (or trying to make in the case of Carl Harper - it is not the end of world guys and heard you have Adam Regan lined up as a replacement anyway?) will help keep everyone on their toes, as will the returns of Paul Attfield & Seth Twigden.
Long way to go yet boys and a few more twists and turns, said when we beat Whittlesey just before xmas that they had improved greatly and would take points off the top sides and they have. Although Mr Minett we turned out Saturday in the mud, rain and cold and turned in an unbelievable performance to beat a good Leverington side.
As for Mr Regan if I believed half the rumours about my players leaving I wouldn't have a bloody team to choose from at all !! But just for good measures I went out at the weekend and signed 2 more quality players to add to the collection.

I know spec, just backing my team to win!! Great result for us on sat with moulton losing!! Is this the start of there seasonal blip??
Well done sat on a good result, feel leverington sometimes flatter to decive but a great win and scoring seven - Brads notch??
My prediction (hope) at the end after a tight finish is -
1. Ortonians
2. Hotpoint
3. Moulton
4. Crowland
5. Parson Drove
What do people think??
Would love to see us topple the top 3 that everyone has been banging on about all year and have a top 3 finish. I think most will admit that they didn't think we'd be anywhere near the action pre-season. We'll just keep plodding along and (hopefully) pick up 3 points on a regular basis. Haven't played to anywhere near our potential over past 2 games but still ended up with 6 points so not all bad.
I'm sure there'll be some more upsets along the way although have to say the Hotpoint result was very admirable and i must applaud a drubbing against a good side

Spec yoy say you have siged to more players you will have to get a third team at Hotpoint. But do you feel you need more as all the quality you have in the team, Read te paper tonight you bench looked the best in the league if you boys can stay injury free think you will win it,but two new players think you might have to loose some if they are as good as what you have got.As good players do not like to sit on the bench,As if it happend to you in your glittering career would have you stuck around if you know you could get in to any off the top teams around?

Lots of twists and turns to come I think.
Surprised that Moulton have been allowed to call their game on February 4th off against Crowland because some of their players are going on a **** up or something - not sure we would have got away with that (more likely 3 points deducted, 6 month suspended prison sentence and have to eat stringy runner beans for the rest of our lives).
Also not sure Man Utd would get away with it - is it me or does anyone else think that this is Sunday football mentality? Plus don't they have a reserve team?

Sorry about last post Moulton people - not looking to stir anything up but given how you guys have sailed so close to the edge in terms of acceptable conduct, such is your passion to finally win the league this season, just thought it incredible that you would act in such an unprofessional manner.
Well done to Pinchbeck today. 2-1 slightly flattered them. (I think if you showed 100 people video footage of the 2 penalty incidents and asked them to choose which 1 was a penalty, then 100 people would choose ours, not your last minute award which at least saved me a round), but they are now a serious side.
Amazed how big they are for such a young team and I think they could pick up some unexpected points over the remainder of the season. Tony, not sure who told you I was unhappy with the way you run the line first half, but absolutlely not true - I very rarely get excited on the line and certainly not in a game like today.

Tommy a bit close at 2.1 - Still No clean sheet without me, no wonder you always smiling at melately as no tommy round. Still a good win and keeps us going.
Don't worry about moulton, we just need to concentrate on what we are doing and all the rest will take care of itself!!

my god! is this the same man that totally slated pinchbeck last season? not good enough to be in div 1 ect. well it goes to show how stupid some people can be when opening their mouth before thinking. i don't understand why so many people just don't like you?

And last year they weren't. This year they have improved the side, the youngsters are a year older and they have turned from a crap team into a fairly average one. I suspect you're not a rocket scientist Carefree.
Bakersman you are a f*****g jinx ! Soon as you open your mouth about staying injury free we lose 4 players Saturday for exactly that, hopefully not too long term for any of them so you see how important having a big squad is. As for me personally I never really suffered from being a sub in my playing days (and I am not being conceited) except when I was at Spalding and then I sat on the bench because I wouldn't train so it was my own fault anyway. Sat there for 7 weeks until I got back in and it never crossed my mind to leave once, attitudes and loyalty have changed big time though in the last ten years.
Massive thank you to Gino, Alex and the Perkins boys for their hospitality yesterday, had a right good drink and a bloody good laugh as well, great night. Although Hotpoint club must have lost a few quid in bar takings last night.

And the first prize in the bingo was lower Spec. Apart from when he wanted to kill me, I have also found Gino a very courteous and accommodating host.
I just need you to get another 54 injuries, and I think we might then have a chance. Enjoying the race, and will just try to stick with you for as long as we can.
We have a really tough game at Parson Drove Saturday, knowing that anything less than a win will probably see you go top. Pressure is on, but aint it great!
Always welcome boys. Great game and a night to remember in the club house. Thats what saturdays are all about. Great bunch of lads at Hotpoint but my hat goes off to Spec & Bradds. Top lads & Top drinkers

must agree with you there tommy your penalty apeal was a definant. ive mugged grovesey and took his wallet for his cause. must say harper looked assured at the back yda good signing there. nice to see that we are being taken a little more serious now. must say i thought beeney was the busier with shots at his goal including a great save from the free kick.
I think only1fogg is right tommy 'don't worry about Moulton', seeing as we dont conduct ourselves acceptably (we just try to play as a team and have a great passion to do the best we can for each other, if that's unacceptable then apologies), act like a sunday outfit and are unprofessional, you,ve no problems.
You must let us know what it's like to be perfect, then we can try to take it on board as we will openly admit we are far from it.
Another good win for you sat and with our result, things are looking increasingly difficult for us (although Alconbury are now a decent side playing some good football).
We have another very tough game on Saturday as you will know, Pinchbeck are a tough team to play against, our game against them earlier in the season was very close and I expect this one to be no different.

Rookie, did not mean it like that as meant that we should concentrate on ouselves rather than worry about others, however seems i struck a nerve or 2000 with your response!!!
Happy days!!!
Foggy, i know your bored mate but there is no need to have a dig at the Moulton lads, our season looks as if we are loosing pace but as you well know we are capable of beating anyone and will have a big say on the league yet. Hope everything goes ok mate, looking forward to playing against you again in the future fella.
Only1fogg, knew just what you meant in your post and was trying to suggest (albeit very poorly) that tommy should listen to you and worry about himself rather than criticize us.
Was just a response to tommy's posts regarding us.
Hope your recovery goes well and good luck

Again apologies Moulton guys, just gets a bit frustrating when there does not appear to be consistency. One of our club officials called to enquire if it was possible to not have a game on a given weekend in the future but was told this was not possible and that you could not call Premier games off if you had a reserve side?
Add in a few drinks and a mischevious dark side and hey presto that's someone else putting pins into a cabbage patch doll of me.
Every team has a hiccup, and Moulton are still very much in the hunt and a side deserving of respect. I think that by general consent your approach is on the aggresive side, and as I have said before it is probably the main reason why we seem to have so much trouble against you in the league - in my time at Ortonians we have lost 3 times in the league against 3 victories in the cups with 2 drawn - 2 very closely matched sides.
