This was a hard fought game with both teams wanting to get the first goal. The wether played a big part in the game, tackles were flying in left right and centre.

Real played some tidy football but the sawtry defence stood firm and were solid. Sawtry had 2 penalty appeals turned down in the first half. one of which should of been a penalty as the sawtry player was blatently pushed. the second one the ref got spot on. the defender put a hard tackle in and got the ball.

Near the end of the half grant missed from 5 yrds out, and should of done better,

in the second half the game was still very close. and no real chances were created.

then the moment of madness, the left winger recieved the ball on the endge of the box , took it round one player lined up for a shot on goal before i decided i would take a lunge to get the ball, however the players legs got in the way and it was a penalty.

a well taken pentaly put sawtry into the lead and 5 mins later their second was scored. a great long ball that was put through for young lad who looks 15 neatly controlled it and slipped it underneath the goal keeper.

It was a great game and was very close. Sawtry at the end of the day took their chances and deserved the win.

So this week we go to the leaders of the league Warboys. Any advice guys on how to beat them??? :whs:

good report mate, very unbiased... like it.
As i said you caughy Sawtry on a bad day they were clearly up for it and its a little awakener for Real who are strengthening their side that there are already some stable and established side that wont be easy to beat.
Very impressed with Warboys victory on Saturday and i am eating my words saying they wiull drop points.
i hope you take some points from them to give us a helping hand as they are stamping their authority at the top!!

I'm not one for excusses but the scoreline in our game with Warboys is slightly missleading as it was a lot closer than it suggests, difficult conditions, bad goalkeeping errors and a poor refereeing performance didn't help our cause but i suppose that's football and you have to live with it, hopefully our return fixture in a few weeks will tell a truear story.

well all i know is the score mate, no inns or outts at all.
will be honest and say i was shocked and im glad to hear you say they are not quite the ruthless giant killers the score line suggests.
We play them soon and i am really looking forwards to it.

Yeah would be good game, there pretty organised and have pace all over the park, especially up front with the boy Browne, very sharp. I can see him getting them out of trouble in tight games with his pace on the counter - attack.
