cracking game down at chestnut ave this morning, Mick that had to be a sweet result for you mate! appreciate you stepping up for me and the lads, as I was a little worse for wear
(   ).....
Well done the scarlets lads who pushed us all the way, we could certainly see why they were top before kick off, should be a wide open league now??? Mail and Limetree won so it's getting interesting.

Absolutely right, a very good game played in exellent spirit, a credit to Sunday morning football. Well done to both teams and the ref, Mr. Tommy Flynn who helped make it an exellent entertaining game. I'm sure Scarletts will be p*ssed off as they and a lot of other people thought they had it won but a great attitude from the EMAP lads got them back in the game and then we picked their pockets with the winner with just a few minutes to go. Once again well done to both sets of lads and thanks to Dougie for the hospitality at Scarletts. Just remember Lads that's the first half over, lots more football to be played.I hope we can maintain that passion and attitude, tighten and improve our shooting. If we can then we will be battling it out with the top teams, one of whom I expect to be Scarletts.

By all accounts mick we were lucky to get a point (was not there) Only had 11 again with some turning up hardly able to stand!!
As I said before the league will be won by the most consistent side in terms of getting a team out not necessarily the best!!

Hear powerleague played very well and should have won!

Massive game this week (prob the biggest in local footy) vs westwood and should be an absolute cracker - Big crowd expected as always!! :pty:

I think you gotta register (free) it provides all Sunday morning leagues/fixtures/results and some teams have match reports etc - Kev from Halcyon writes some cracking ones...

Here's one from the site that we did folllowing the game against Scarletts:

__________________________________________________ _____________________________

This was a crunch game with EMAP climbing the table and Scarlets sitting top before kick off, they have scored plenty in recent games and are a big physical side, We have been putting in some good performances ourselves and are well up for this one!

It's raining with high winds (it was the ale - sorry!) but the pitch seemed to be ok if a little slippery and with Tommy Flynn in charge we knew it should be a good tough game, our lads were instructed to go out and battle hard but above all enjoy the test the Scarlets lads would provide.
The game went back and forward all game with me losing count at times, we went 1 up after just 10 mins but Scarlets were level within 5 mins, then 2-1 up and they levelled again shortly after 2-2...
HT and both teams are realising this is going to come down to who wants it more, and seeing our lads did fill me with confidence!
Shortly after HT our keeper goes off injured after Starky (their player manager) went in VERY late on him and his knee went, we make a sub and our left back goes in goal, we then break away down the left with Karl heading home after leaving JB (their right back) trailing in his wake, the game was end to end with Scarletts then scoring from a deflected shot making it 3-3 and so our left back bottles it out of goal and makes our centre back don the gloves, it was a battle of wills and Steve was bigger than Ryan so Ryan went in goal...
Scarlets then take the lead through a well worked goal and EMAP start to fear losing the game after being in the driving seat for most of it...
EMAP get a corner and Ben swings it in and scores directly from the kick, most will say a fluke but I have honestly seen him do this several times and he's meant it every time, it's now 4-4 with just 5 mins left, will both teams settle for a draw??? WILL THEY F*CK!
Tommy Flynn (ref) announces 30 seconds left and EMAP win a corner, we load the box and Ben fires over another wicked cross, Sid appears from no where to power a bullet header past their keeper and take us 5-4 and seal a great win....

Fair play to Scarlets who battled hard and proved why they are high in Div 1 this season.

Man of the Match is really tough, well played everyone, this goes to Dean who really put in a shift and won plenty of possesion, he broke up numerous Scarlets attacks and always seemed to pick the right pass when pressured.
Mentions of course to Tom for another 2 goals to add to his tally, Ben for another goal and assist, Karl for his goal and Sid for the winner, plus our 3 keepers on the day and of course our new Assistant Manager who really enjoyed winning this one, he used to help run Scarlets last year so it was a good day for him and the rest of us.

I have already said this under a different topic on this forum but for once Sean I'm going to disagree with you. 99.8% of your match report is accurate but in my humble opinion Steve Starkey was not late, he had every right to go for the ball, as previously stated I would have expected our forwards to have done the same. Ads also agreed with me and said that he had landed awkwardly on his knee. Tommy who reffed the game really well also didn't see it your way and no foull was given.Aggression has always been part of Starkey's game but I'm convinced no malice was intended. Of course posts are your opinion but perhaps you should have spoke to Ads who was the closest person to the incident. Sorry Sean we very rarely disagree and of course this does not affect a great working relationship, but I felt this had to be said.

i see you manage to mention me being caught out of position not "trailing in his wake" as you put it but failed to mention the goal of the game? come on eh if you're gonna mention both sides names mention both sides of the story :)

it's all about opinions and thats why we love the game...
JB it's our match report for our lads to read on the yellowjersey site, hardly gonna mention your goal much really are we.... It was a good goal though if it makes you feel better..
And you were left trailing in Karls wake, he bombed past you on the halfway line even though you were out of position, you could have ran after him - but he was just too quick?

Mick, it was a late challenge in my book, Ads had it in his hands as Starky slid in taking his standing leg away, nothing malicious really and yeah he was going for the ball, but I'd say a foul...
Saying that, I'd expect our players to do exactly the same in attack so that's why I said nothing about it during or after the match to the ref or Starky himself, just one of those things that happens in tough games.
Oh and Ads would agree with anything you or I asked him about, he's too timid sometimes.

Rapha my dear boy I don't suppose you had noticed but if you post something written completely in Higher Case (capitals) then it defaults to higher case for the first letter of each word. By the way please leave poor Mick Di's mobile alone. Sean I wouldn't want to get a room with Rapha as I have been informed you would get extremely jealous.

Indeed, the forum prevents "Shouting." So if you type more than 3 character in upper case, then it will make it lower case, if that makes sense

Now, back on topic

Rapha, I think you'll find JB is referring to me. During my time with Scarlett's last season I managed to smack my head against the dug-out roof at Chesnut Avenue, much to the amusement of all, but hey ho as long as I can make people smile.
