Ok guys been a busy few days so now i have had time to gather my thoughts here it is...
The day started off with the usual banter and fun but once the team were all in the dressing room it was down to business, i didnt play last game against them but the score was not in eye's favor and as a result of this game the lads were ready for revenge and Gino pointed out just how important 3 points are to stay that one step ahead of the chasing pack, take a look at the league and you will see that in the space of 3 games this league will look totally different.
Things started off very fast paced and we were told before the game keep things tight in the middle and rely on our wingers for fast paced attacks, so after 10 minutes of hard takles and swift passing by both teams the game started to calm down and both teams pushed for the opener.
Fortunately for Eye it came from the penalty spot.
it was either a free kick or a corner swung in by ebbage and the next thing you see is Dom Clarke on the deck and the LAngtoft central midfielder fuming that the ref had given the penalty, now there are two arguments here...
1) the ref gave te pen because he saw dom's shirt pulled and he was deserved of the penalty
2)The langtoft player says he was impeeded first by Dom before the shirt pull but the ref didnt pick it up.
problem here is the ref cant give what he doesnt see and no one else seemed to see it either.
Now to cut a long story short there were chances for both teams to score and yet again Eye scrapped thru with a 1-0 but at the end of the day thats 2 clean sheets for our new keeper Billy and another good performance from our striker Luke.Followed by 3 points that were hard earned but there is so so so much more to come from the lads and my fingers are crossed that were saving it for the likes of Stilton!
We are now on an excellent run of wins in the league and the last league game we lost was a 5-0 drubbing by Langtoft so it just goes to show people out there like the excitable Sparky that no matter what the score is one week there is always a second game and a chance to redeem your self, and as Real March seem to be getting stronger we know they have the chance to do just that too so for now only time will tell who is deserved of finishing at the top and gaining promotion.
This weekend we have Caston, things have changed so much since pre season and we are in full flow so i hope our streak contiues and Castor are the next victims on the Eye want promotion your in the way list.
