View Full Version : eye vs Manea - Harbs is back
watch this space guys were out to celebrate being a good team tonight ... ha
speak to you all soon.
Just like to say well done Gino to you and the Eye boys, thought i'd also apolagise for our boys not staying for a drink (as we don't want to be called bad loosers) but most of the boys were on a big night out in Norwich so had to get back early. We are obviously dissappointed with the result as i thought with our second half performance we might of sneaked a draw but saying that we didn't really create a great deal. Alll the best to you and your boys for the rest of the season.
No worries DBISH. I spoke to one of your boys who already said sorry they had to leave early.
Enjoyed the game and the hard earned 3 points.
So let me give you the break down of the game...
In standard windy games the team attacking with the wind normally pin in the wind facing team for the whole half and bombard the goal until the half is up and its time to face the music your self and defend...... WELL!!!!
This was a arse about face day as Eye who started the game playing in to the wind took the lead only 10 minutes into the game with some good passing and it looked after the first ten like we were really up for the game but Manea held us out after the opener and Eye were more than happy to go in at half time confident that we were wind assisted in the second half and maybe we could stretch our lead.
Manea came out the blocks and forced us to do exactly what we said we wouldnt. They closed us down and forced mistakes and we seemed to loose our way a little it was Manea's turn to pressure our goal.
Although their chances were not one on one's they had a few good efforts at goal and showed why they have been leading the way in Division 2.
Eye did still create their normal amount of chances bit with the game being stretched with both teams racing end to end to try and take the game the scond half was a stale mate.
I will be honest and say i thought the game was going to finish 1 - 1 but Eye managed to hold out for the 3 points and our first double over one of our hardest opponents of the season.
We had 2 new additions to the team this week and this was the first time this season every player has been avalable. So a clean sheet for our new number 1 and a good performance from our talented new striker/dancer.
Thanks for the game Manea was a very strange game in one sense but enjoyable and competative, good luck for the season.
Cheers Harbs, pretty spot on with the match report. Hopefully our guy's will learn from sat and push on for the rest of the season as many more difficult games like that to come starting with our PFA Quarter final tie with the Div 1 leaders Ramsey on sat, just hope we give a good accout ousrelves and show that Div 2 is not that far away. Good luck with rest of the season. Plenty of draws please mate !!!!!!
