Well we found ourselves travelling out to the middle of nowhere again for another round of the northants county cup. Wasnt sure if i was going to have a full side until a few minutes before kickoff ( was even struggling for a sub ), thanks to pat n al for letting me have Matt Kapulski.

We turned up at there place loking like we were in the mood to play football ( well some of us did anyway ). The game gets underway & right from the start we couldnt pass a ball for toffee, win a tackle or do anything. We were shocking!!!And i mean shocking ( doesnt help when one of your so called ' BETTER ' players tuned up still hammered from the night before. We finish the 1st half 1-0 down.

I dont think i have ever dished out a bigger B*llicking than what i did at half time saturday. Anyway it seemed to work as we finally decided to try and make a game of it, and was unlucky not to get back in the game within 15 mins of the 2nd half. The game wore on and we still hadnt scored, so i opted to bring myself on in place for noel upfront ( who had a great game ) and changed our tactics to 3-4-3. After 10 mins in payed off, some great football from the lads and a knock down by jo deboo meant i could rifle home from 20 yards and get us back in the game.

Full time comes and its 1-1. Extra time gets under way & its all us, pushing for that goal that will hopefully see us through. But it never came, so very poor defending gave the kettering forward clear space to slot the ball home and make it 2-1. Time is running out n just as it the ref is about to blow his whistle we are awarded witha last minute ( probably last secon ) penalty. We are jumping for joy, but that joy is soon over as the cheating W*NKER of a linesman put his flag up as soon as the ref gave the penalty, the ref goes over to him and after talking to the lino he gives offside!! How the fcuk can a player be offside from a corner when there are 2 opposing players on the goal line????.

Can blame that decision on the offical all day long, but truth is ( as in many games for us this season ) we were ****e from the word go!!

Yeah first half we were terrible, no excuses. But there was only one team in the 2nd half and it wasn't them.

Possession must have been 90%-10% to us in fact after viewing the highlights on sky sports i found out this was true. :mad:

You forgot to mention that after a good tackle just inside his own half by Fergie the ball fell to our forward Eddie who knocked the ball past their last man to be one on one, only for the same dodgy linesman/manager to raise his flag... yes thats right i said the forward knocked the ball past the last man only to be given offside, but like the Murphys im not bitter.

We finally got the deserved equaliser with a few mins to go, they had been restricted to literally one or two attacks on the break all game which our keeper dealt with.

We attacked till the final whistle and looked to have sealed victory when Deboo knocked down for Eddie to smash an unstoppable shot past the keeper, only problem is 'the cat' or whatever his name was somehow managed to save it.

Extra time was all us, we hit the bar before starting to think this simply was not going to be our day whilst we were thinking this they had there first real attack for 50 mins and somehow scored, would have helped if we had marked the forward.

As for the last second pen, well this is my argument why we should have the real sky sports cameras at a game and a video official, just like the egg chasers.

The ref gave a penalty for blatent hand ball, we danced like John Travolta :pty: :dsc:

But wait, is it a bird? A plane? Or a dodgy linesmans flag i see?

Yes it was the lata, if we had the cameras there they would have been able to tell exactly when the cheating lino decided to well um...cheat.

Ref give offside, yet there were 2 defenders on the goal line and he had given the penalty, his excuse was that the linesman had his flag up way before the handball. Hmmm okay well why didnt you blow your whistle when the flag was 'supposedly' raised? Foulplay i presume.

Anyway our first half performance cost us, but hopefully its the kick up the hairy ass that we all needed.

Despite not being given the pen in the last few seconds of the game (don't get me started! :hbgr: ) we should have had the game won by then. We missed too many chances. We limited them to only a few chances and they scored 2 goals. If we had scored half of our chances we would have won comfortably. Unfortunately it just wasn't our day. From our performance in the second half and extra time I fell we should have won the game.

We have now got to get our heads back on and move back up the table, got some tough games up to xmas so need to get back to winning league games.

Braggs - saturday is a must win game, if we lose saturday we might as well forget the league....i;ve alraedy got my excuses sorted if we do lose!!! :lol:

Some very tough league games for us b4 xmas, wimblington res, bretton park rangers res, netherton, pinchbeck.....and we cant afford to lose any of them....like slim bratts says, i hope the bollocking u lot got at half time saturday is the kick up the :mnn: you needed!!

Should get a bollocking like that before every game cuz second half was much, much, much, much better. Actually played football!
