View Full Version : 2 horse race already ?
I stuck my neck out and said maybe 4 teams will have broken away by xmas but we are into the first week in November and already there are teams out of the running.
Perkins, Whittlesey and maybe Hampton if they can be more consistent look as though it is between themselves although I won't quite write off Moulton yet but I don't know what is going on there (defeat to Chatteris in the cup, held at home to Bels).
Having seen about 10 games this season the standard has dropped unbelieveably since last year and having watched Perkins yesterday I can't see them winning the title with all the bickering that goes on between them.
Where has it all gone wrong

think all of peterborough knew the answer to 'where has it all gone wrong' with most moving on to ucl leagues.
missing from psl title and cup winning side from last season are:
sam kingston (yaxley), Anthony thomas(yaxley) luke thackham(spalding), chris garwell(st neots),brett bellamy(huntingdon), scott quinney(pns),
suspended, injured or other:
ben lawrence, jamie graham, paul attfield, james horner, pat dooner, ROONIE leishman (an old man injury)
players still playing at psl:
gareth sanderson, joe duffy, dwayne rankin, mark randell, richie roberts.
our league title hopes are long over thats for sure and has been for a while now.

Of course he has forgotten someone Rocket,Al forgot that Seb played a few games in the league and Northants Cup
Surely not that bad spec with some good players left in that league!! :soo:
Al, when your successful players will always move on/be poached as that is the nature of the game no matter what level you play at. Shame though that people seem to think that about p'boro league.

read your post several times darren, still can't decode what it means :soo: (must be my lack of education) totally agree with spec about the standard. But it would seem that a fair few players that left the PDFL for PNS are starting to heading back this way (seth, ash, dogget, teddy, gav, phil and others) because they can't keep them all happy which should increase some ot the PDFL sides with the exception of Alconbury and PSL. got told on saturday that PNS have approach 2 other PDFL players about joining them (hear say).
looks like the number 7 bus will be running from PDFL to PNS and back again daily for the rest of the season
what I meant Al is that a successful side (pns last year) will always be subject to players leaving for so called higher/better football like others before them.
I have not seen the p'boro league this season to comment on the standard but I believe the older players leaving such as Ruddy, skeggy etc... are just not being replaced but there is still some really good players and managers in that league!!
Not sure about 2 more players being approached but I did hear that changes are foot when Tommy is back from one of his many jolly's abroad!! Obviously something currently amiss at the club and atmosphere/confidence needs improving although we are 5/6 in the league.

ohh now i understand  only kidding. tommy piled the preasure on himself, what with throwing all that cash at players (there aint no smoke without fire) he should have taken his first season feeling his way and then build where it was needed to win things next season. all the players i know that have left PNS have said that its dead there and no enjoyment factor. you can't compare it to ortonians days at all. i think even tommy would take some blame for his mistakes.
we lost saturday to title challengers perkins who have gained 3 PNS players, i feel a touch unlucky not to have got something from the game but don't begrudge Alex anything and wish him all the luck until the end of the season.
i was pleased with the 3 last minute signings i made and the reserve players who played the game in the correct manner, it was a pleasure to be part of a great effort from my lads.
Dead there and no enjoyment factor sounds just like fcuking Ortonians and the panda pop brigade :bst:
Foggy, Ruddy and Skeggy are both still playing, are you reading the UCL news now and not the ET ?
Al, I thought your boys battled bloody well after going 3-1 down and all hope is not lost, the leagues gone but 2 cups left to play for unless Tommy comes back from hols with a few dollars more
I would have spent the first year sorting out a clubhouse before anything else because that is where the spirit lies in any side :bub:
Both valid points guys and that is why you are needed in the game no matter what level!!
Agree totally with the comments about PNS and that is why I have played for reserves for the last couple of weeks with Shay and the boys!!
Tommy knows he needs to sort it quick and not splash more dough as well as making tough decisions but will he?? :soo:
Spec, ortonians had a great team spirit  that is why we done so well, never argued and had never say die attitude - sorely missing at PNS!!
Apologies to Ruddy and Skeggy, just mean that players of there quality and commitment not coming through

This site has gone very tame this season it was a lot more interesting when my old mate Number 9 was on here firing away so I thought it is time to add a little spice.
For a start how long is Al going to go on moaning about his lost players. He is becoming as bad as Judgey and his rants over the Peterborough League. Then we have Spec making a bold move and narrowing the league title chase down to two or three when anyone who knows anything about football can see that Whittlesey will be champs. Much better side than when we won it three seasons ago and the standard has dropped since then.
Also Spec you complain about how Tommy should be running things and yet you had three seasons at Hotpoint and won sweet Fa while he won trophies galore hint of jealousy mate
Then there's poor old JNE still believing he should be in PNS first team but when he is just not fit enough yet. Hard to get over a broken leg and think you can bounce straight back perhaps the res is your level at present.
That should do for starters
:stpd: whittlesea will win Jack!!
Number 90 !! Tell us who you are and I will respond, otherwise Kiss my :mnn:

number 90, i love it when someone comes on here hiding behind a name, it gives us a challange to work out what regular old member it is.
judgey is a very successful man and if i'm like him then thats fine with me.
spec has won more then you could ever achieve.
agree with your comments on darren (fat old knacker makes shay look slim :bst: ) but darren can take sly digs in banter form from people he knows right ?
so who is this masked man? hong kong fui, quicker then the naked eye!
could be number 9's :mnn: chum maybe?
Thanks Al, course I can take a dig from a friend But take offence to the old though!!
number 90 - who are you!! who cares
Scored over 100 goals every season, played bloody good attacking football all the time, we all got ****ed together afterwards, now that's what I call good local football (and they all paid subs).

Spec look you failed as manager won nuthing with the helluva good squad of players
Al your much better when you aint moaning about lost players but Spec should have more trophies than me cos he is site older but were they all for soccer
Judgey no reply dont they let you use the computor in the old peoples home on a Tuesday
JNE played aginst you and you could not get close enough to kiss :mnn: but I hear you do it for Tommy

90 its Tuesday so that wipes out your theory and Perkins will wet on your title parade
alot of people seem to know more about perkins than me at the moment...! I have only got one PNS player at the club that being ash. Dogget has approached me and asked to sign i have asked the club to put 7 days in for him to Bretton Park and PNS, only time will tell if he will become a perkins player as i understand tommy wants to keep him. As for Seth i have had no contact with him since he signed in the summer so i dont know why people are linking him with us at the moment :soo:. I can only introduce one a month any way so to take 3 on at a time would be pointless.
Spec your comments a very true from saturday but it is not something that is happening on a regular basis. I think the lads were genuinly nervous on saturday and didn't really settle into the game but the win will do us good and hopefully we'll learn from it. Al well done to your lads on saturday showed a real fighting spirit felt we should of finished you off when we had the chance but in the end were lucky to hang on to the points especially the last 10
Number 90, you should remember conversations you have when you are drunk, now stop being a silly boy.

you know what the gossip is like in the local footy circles Alex, its what i heard not what i'm guessing. i hope you do get dogget and seth playing for perkins asap, you don't need to wait month for either, why be respectful to PNS when they failed to show you any in return? (but thats your call alone not mine) seth can play for you when he likes and i'm sure jason would wave the 7 days rule if you rang him. if it is a 2 horse race i wish both whittlesey and perkins both the best of luck, they have a good bunch of lads playing for them and top lads as back room staff.
but watch out for us in the pfa cup as the next round is in jan and both jamie and ben will be available.
Whoa whoa whoa Al ! Don't be getting me involved in your mickey taking. The only reason I'm so big is because every time I sleep with Foggy's missus she gives me a chocolate biscuit !!!!
Fcuk me, I only get abuse from her, she keeps saying what a big ******* I am :soo:
