Can someone please enlighten me on the exact rules when a player is struck by a spectator?
There was an incident on sat whereby a pinchbeck player was struck by the father of one of the eye players. The spectator came on the pitch and punched the player as he took offence to his son being called a name.
The referee saw the incident and sent off the spectator, but should the game have been abandoned?
there are a few players in that eye res's team whose family you dont want to annoy!

so there allowed to hit players then? they should ban the spectator or kick them out of the league for failing to control them!!
erm i dont think i said that did i? just stating there are some people not to be messed with at eye res's so a friendly warning should retribution be in mind for the return game.

i heard it a bit different to that .
story i was told was that the big pinchbeck striker & the other lad had a little bit of an issue with each other & the pinchbeck striker punched the lad & his old man came on & gave him a smack & a shiner i heard.
How can the ref not have seen all this ?
Or did he not have the nerve to send off a player.
Apparently there was a number of naughty tackles from both teams.
Im sure all the truth will come out .

The taste of sour grapes must be strong in Pinchbeck this week :soo:

Unfortunally you cant control the actions of others, but as i have always said what goes on the field stays on the field no matter what!! So if a spectator decides to run on the field then personally depends how bad his actions are then the team should be fined or poss deducted points if worthy enough.
This would then make spectators think twice about becoming involved.
As for the Ref not seeing this :soo: well dont think we should go into this again do you!!!
