just been thinking that we have some pretty good players in our division and would be great to get a side out to challenge Div 1 & the Prem.
OK it'll probably never happen but i reckon we'd give them a good run for their money!
your teams please! . . .
P.S. pre-requisite of replying to this thread is i must be the starting line-up!
very difficult for me only having plyed 4 games this season and cant expect everyone to play well against eye :soo:
from what i have played against i base this opinion ten i will do one at the 1/2 point once we have played every team.
(sorry no names i dont know anyone but im guessing these are regular positions for these people or those of you that remember where you played against eye you will know.
GK stiltons (he let me lob him) RB - (Manea) LB - (no idea) CB - Dom clarke (eye) CB - (meat head stilton) - sorry no idea who he is
mid - ebbage (eye) mid - BDISH (is that right?(MANEA) cm - shaved head Sawtry. LW Gazza (Stilton) - RW (stilton)
att - R Baines (stilton) 2morrow(Sawtry)
pls remember i hardly know anyone in the division so once i get some names to positions it will make a lot more sense. thanks for your reading.
subs - eye's new keeper, lewis (kid at eye), sawtry centre midfielder tall lad. mark baines (stilton)
We should do this 3/4 of the way through the season when we have all played each other once and when I start playing a little better! :lol:

fair shout on being familiar with names coz as i was driving home last night i realised i couldn't name half my team either!
but the suggestion of doing it half-way thru and at the end of the season is a good idea.
still reckon we'd do the div 1 and the prem tho!!!

shame the paper doesnt report on the games in outr division so we could read about names players allowing managers to pick star players of each team getting the younger and more talented players recognised by those prem teams that are in need of some fresh blood.
Thats a good idea Harbs, but i doubt it would ever happen. I will do a team in a couple of months when we have played a few more contenders as i'm not sure P'boro City have many who could get in. Got Sawtry again soon so will be interesting to see if Mr Morrow makes the grade. 2 goals last time though, Boucher and Miller from Warboys look decent enough to make my squad.

From my previous experience of this league theres at least a few players in each of the better teams in this div that could give the upper leagues a run for there money, from Stilton, Castor, Langtoft, Eye, Sawtry and Manea.
Thing is not everyone is boved about playing at the higher standard some just wanna take the p*ss out of their mates, even some good teams/players in the reserve divisions, certainly surprised me

well so far i have enjoyed playing in this division glad it hasnt been a easy ride and we have to earn the right to be near the top of the league.

Definitely. We don't play you until back to back games at the end of the season, which is a little **** Mr Harbour! I expect to make the Zambrotta spot in your team, with five across the midfield or defence!

the rate your going you'll be making the roy keane spot, suspended for more games than you play.
I heard a little rumour that Castor have been deducted 6 points as a result of playing a suspended player 2 weeks in a row, is this true Raph or just b#ll@cks?
Also the same bloke told me Sawtry had lost 1 point for playing a suspended player?
Are these rumours true or shall i go and get the hook surgically removed from my mouth?
FYI, the person who told me this was in no way connected with Stilton United.

harbs, i was a bit annoyed with my team mates during our game with you to say the least but really lost it after danny's challenge on me. i'm on medication now and have calmed down (a bit)!
gazza, not heard the point deduction rumour but can't see it being true as far as i'm aware everything is in order. i don't get involved with the running of it anymore just wanna play its easier and a lot less hassle! i'll be disappointed if we have though, could cost us dearly.

i can't put myself in the squad mate its not right, however it isnt about whois or isnt too good the task is set to try and produce a squad good enough to compete with the select 11 from the prem.
i think it may be to tall a task as the prem has loads of talented players to choose from but as you know a lot of div 2 players play with mates keep their heads down an their talents are hidden, so a lot harder to find them.
Or div 2 rep team needs a gaffer. Names put forwards please......

Rep teams - could be a cracking idea - perhaps Div 1 and the Combination could do the same - be very interesting game Div 1 v Div 2 and a whole new debate I guess.
As for the points deductions - 'tis true

And the Lino from Chatteris Fen Tigers has to be a part of it too, he was on the pitch and ready to rumble last week against us lot, Quality :lol: , he was sound afterwards though!
Got to have the Baines brothers, Harbs I guess, centre back from Castor (quick as f*ck), Dean Clarke from Eye, Rapha from Castor - not seen to many others play as yet as I've only had 2 half games in this division after well over a year on the sidelines managing Sundays.
That is a nightmare, leaves Langtoft a lot to do. Why have some lost more points than others?
Regarding Rep team, would be a very interesting set of fixtures, we could even set up a mini tournament. Would be a very good way for everyone to get together and have a great p#ss up afterwards. I definitely would come down for a look and it could become an annual event. :bub: :bub:
A div 1 rep side would def unearth a few players maybe who are not as well known - cant let u div 2 players have all the fun!
A mini league between the 3 divs is a great idea, sure it would be well supported as an end of season event.
Already got a good div 1 side in mind but will wait till Netherton have played a few more sides.

Think it would be a great idea and a great finish to the season if it could be arranged. Not sure how feasible it would be but could be a cracking day out. :beer:
As for points deductions there are a whole raft of them and it's difficult to tell the difference in points and fines. I'm sure the league consider what the club has to say. We ourselves have had 1 point deducted for playing a player not registered - the league claim they only received the registration on the Monday - from my experience the post normally arrives on time or not at all - not 4 days later - but there you go - have to take their word for it but not happy or in any way convinced. Annoying thing is he's a player with over 200 appearances for us and not a new signing. I guess at the end of the day no one to blame but ourselves and that goes for the others too I suppose.
Will hit Castor hard - does this change the outlook for division 2?
they were top thorneyboy. so yes it will but it doesnt put them in a bad position just a small amount of ground to make up.
lets not forget the combi division in all this guys believe me they have some very good players well capable of putting a strong side together!
Harbs - as you are reffering to combi players are you just reffering to combi 1 or combi 2 as well?
Happy with this, looks like we have finally found something to compensate for the loss of Sparky. Nice one Mr Morrow.
Definitely should get the combi leagues involved, i think a tournament on one day is feasible with 25 minute games or something like that.
So far the players who have stood out are CM and CB for Langtoft, CB and both forwards for Warboys (Boucher and Miller), Harbs got to give you a game son, Morrow will be in the shake up from Sawtry as well as Kyle Nolan if he is not at Uni.
Have not played Castor or Manea yet, but i am sure some of their players will be involved.

In order to involve the whole league, it might be an idea to have a Reserves XI, Division 2 XI, Division 1 XI and a Premier XI. The games could be played throughout a chosen week in, say, February where venues permit e.g. Yaxley.
Would Reserves v Prem (on a Monday night) and Div 1 v Div 2 (Tuesday night), with the winners meeting on Thursday or Friday night be fair though ?

bratts i only know players in combi 1 but its obvious that there is talent all over Peterborough its just scattered and not as well known as our friends like Bainse etc
some one will need to take charge that is willing to pick a squad of what 15 players?? obviously provided everyone selected wants to play but lets be honest why wouldnt you want to get a shot at giant slaying??
im off for a few days now guys so Gaz keep me informed with whats going on cheers.

There are a few players I played against last year that stood out.
There are some very good players playing in Div 2. Baines is obviously the stand out player.
There was a right winger for manea who stood out last year, Wes @ Stilton played well and someone I have played against for many years.

We could spread the games out in midweek but to me the fun of it would be getting everyone together on one day for a bit of a blast. We all play in the same league but never get the chance to all mix. I like the idea of shorter games and could be a round robin with all teams playing each other.
Been away for a couple of days, but shocked at our point deduction, if it is true. The player in question moved from one team to another unaware of his ban, that went to his former club. Castor were unaware of his impending ban and were not notified - so what are they supposed to do? Shocking. Nice to get suggested for the rep team - would only be able to play if I wasn't ill or suspended - as I seem to be all the bloody time at the moment! :lol:

I knew it was a possibility, but didn't think it'd actually happen. Missed our game today through illness and wish I was there to help our boys on a bad day for Castor. Now start my five week ban - what joy! Taught me a lesson - you'll see a calm buddhist like Raph from now on - a bit like Mr Harbour, haha! :mad:

No i play for Stilton, as you well know, but even though there is a team in our league without a game, we do not have a game this Saturday as Real March have a cup game :tears:

Not in that game mate, can't be in 2 places at once. Got a massive local derby against Sawtry. Can't wait. We have only had 1 game in 3 weeks so i am expecting the lads to be extremely hungary. Need to get the right result to push ourselves nearer to the top where we belong. Good result at the weekend for all title challengers (exept Doddington and Warboys), with those 2 taking points off each other. Perhaps you could do a match report Sparkman?

We were poor, our defence was awful. Theres a lot of contention amongst players etc. things at real march aren't to good at the moment. Still in the quarters of a cup that’s not to bad. We've got sawtry at home.

Anderton must be putting in some good performances if the likes of Leverington are making enquiries, they are flying high in the prem so they must have spotted some potential??????????????
