How about lets get some opinions / votes (Don't know how to set it up) on things that really cheese us off. I tend to find that maybe club members i.e. players are not necessarily well represented at the AGM where these things get agreed. So let me chuck in a few of mine and maybe pick up on a couple that seem to float around.

1. 2 o'clock ko's for the whole season. (lost to the vote last year)

2. Why do transfers have to be in by 1200 on a Thurs ?

3. No tranfers until 1st Dec unless player has not played in previous 4 weeks. Although this doesn't help when players are going up to UCL.

Just some thoughts.

i agree with the 2pm kick off no messing around same every week. its easier to organise especially if you have kids!

i also think as long as transfers/signing on's are in thursday evening there shouldent be any problems, that gives a whole day to sort out any adminastration needed by the league?

Although there is probably a very good reason why the league need a day to sort out a transfer. I thought it would be easier than an initial 'signed on' player. Atleasy yo know that the player doesn't owe anything due to the fact that both clubs and player sign the transfer.

Correct me if i'm wrong but yo can sign a player on any time before ko and on that basis surely a transfer form before ko would be the same.

Re the kick offs - I voted against it - we have a fair number of players who work on a Saturday and for them 2pm kick offs are a pain. Bear in mind that our players mostly work in Peterborough so they still have to travel to Thorney for a home fixture and could be anywhere if it's away.
Take this Saturday, we are taking two Reserve players to Whittlesey who can't get to March for their game in time plus 1 regular first teamer who won't be there until after kick off (sure you won't mind Gary!). Point being that with all due respect to the players involved we are not choosing who we are taking from the reserves it is decided by who can get where. We don't have any of this problem with 3pm kick offs so at least we get some respite in Aug, Sept and Mar onwards - don't you have days when you stand there with the signing on sheet wondering whether players will get there or not?
Personally would prefer all 3pm but Mother Nature doesn't allow.

Mick, All good stuff. This is why I thought it would be a decent topic. Sure we sometimes don't get the players we want due to work commitments but I still prefer the 2 ko's and down the pub to catch the final results coming in. Completes the day for me.

We also lose players eache year to 'festivals', holidays and 'I got tickets to go see Posh !!!!!'. I suppose its different if you lose a player for the whole season due to 2 ko's. Or should the majority rule ?

Personally I only like majority rule if I'm in the majority!!

Ross that's very cool - with all the debate that goes on in this wonderful forum perhaps we should have a weekly / monthly poll with the burning question of the moment - in it's own section maybe???
Anyone else think so?

Good idea Thorneyboy, it's a pity Sparkdude has gone, could have had some fun with that.

Everytime we mention Sparky I have a pang of guilt. Think me outing him was the beginning of the end and things haven't been the same since. Perhaps next week's poll should be "Who wants Sparky back?"
