The turkey’s in the oven - I’m wearing a paper hat
I’ve stuffed myself with nuts and beer and fear I may get fat
But my mood is bright and breezy - a glow is on my face
And all because the league table has us sitting in 1st place
Only half way through though, a long way still to go
We’ll finish third apparently, say those that are in the know
They all forget the record of our humble little side
6 league titles over the years have filled the club with pride
Our rivals can not match that, they have never reached the peak
Churning out results like us and grinding every week
This year it could be different though, the competition’s tough
Hotpoint are full of shining lights and Moulton know their stuff
Who will hold their nerve then, as we enter the final straight?
Can Moulton finally come up trumps or will it be Spec (my mate?)
All I know is that as we stand, I can confidently say
That it sure feels good inside to know, that we’ll be top on xmas day!
