Whittlesey United vs Moulton Harrox

Whittlesey continued their positive start to the league season with a 3-0 victory over Moulton Harrox at the Manor on Saturday.

The lads didn’t produce an outstanding performance but put in a very good days shift work as they swept away a resistant visiting side with three goals in the first half.

17 year old midfielder Matty Heron was the star of the show with a fantastic first half hat-trick as the boys notched another three points. Heron showed the desire to gamble for balls he had no right in getting to and notched up an impressive 1st half display, even though he was playing in boots a size too small for him lol.

Daniel Fletcher made an outstanding save in the first half with the scores at 0-0 denying a Moulton header with a fantastic save. If that had have nestled in the game may have taken a different shape.

A solid performance from the boys, another tough fixture vs Ramsey at home this week and hopefully another three points :beer:

Ben - in addition to your comments the positves fo me were :-

*Fletch once again proving he is the best keeper in our league by a country mile
* Lordy slipping into the centre half role so easily, as if he'd never been away.
* The number of real chances created in addition to the opportunist goals that Matty took - think that Micky could also have had a hat-trick with a bit more composure.
* And probably the main plus is knowing we are going to get much better - think that we had at least two more gears if we needed them - tomorrow looks like an ideal opportuniuty for the lads to show us just that.

Have to say that there is also a fantastic atmoshpere at the moment, once again plenty watching from the sidelines - and a good craic after the game. Good to see one or two lads from Coates now making a point of coming back to the club for a few beers - thats gotta be the way forwards. See ya tomorrow sunshine, c'mon bring em on !!!!

Cheers Kenny, we have started off well but at this moment in time we're looking no further forward than 3pm this afternoon and the visit of Ramsey. I fancy the Villa tomorrow mate.
