All you clubs out there who voted for fines to increase from a tenner to twenty I wonder how you feel now. At the November meeting the league collected a thousand pounds, over 900 in October.
Trouble is club reps keep going to the agm and stick their hands up without thinking and vote yes to get the meeting over quickly. Well now you are paying for it.
The rise in fines was 100 percent thats like going into the pub and paying two pounds for a pint and then going next night and paying four pounds.
A tick in wrong box is 20 where will it all end
Keep on smiling

and whats the point?(other than lining the leagues pockets!). in the heat of the moment you're not gonna think"hang on a minute i dont want a hefty fine" you need better management of the game to help prevent a heat of the moment situation.

mark, where is this extra money going? are clubs going to benefit from it in any way or is it going towards maintenance at focus

I wasn't going to comment on the subject of fines as I feel that it is an easy matter to solve. Just follow the handbook correctly. As Secretary of the PFA nothing would please me more then to go a whole season without a fine being imposed. Remember when a fine is generated somebody has to administer it. For example following this weeks PFA meeting I have been advised that no fewer than 15 fines have been imposed as a result of various rule breaches. At some point over the weekend I will need to write out the fines post them and chase them up if not paid. I can tell you I have got better things to do with my time, especially at this time of the year. What disappoints me is that the bulk of these fines are for breaching the simple rule of confirming PFA fixtures, a rule that is printed on all of the draws when sent out for each round to remind the clubs of the need to comply.

With regard to the fines imposed by the league. That has nothing to do with the Focus centre. The proceeds would as you say go into the league funds. Ultimately the clubs benefit via league fees etc. However perhaps there should be a cash incentive for any club that goes through the whole season without gaining a fine. Guyhirn, for example achieved this last season. I will mention that at the next meeting, the incentive that is!

If the fines bring in a huge amount this season why not give each club a match ball for the start of next season why reward some club that have not even contributed

Come on offside surely you can not look at fines as contributions? It not meant to be a savings plan :soo:
