Psl res 4 v 4 Doddington Res:

Well the day didnt get off to a good start, our keeper Ritchie had to get a train to glasgow at 8.00am saturday after recieving a phone call saying his dad had been rushed into hospital, spoke with ritchie sunday night his dad had a stroke but is slowly recovering, best wishes to your dad ritch!

This unfortunate incident left me without a keeper, so i had to change the team around and put myself on the bench. Within 5 mins of the game kicking off our centre back get injured and my make shift keeper ben had to go centre back meaning that yours truly had to go in goal.

However the lads got off to a perfect start with milne supplying a cracking cross for lungay to dive between 2 defenders and power home a header from 6 yards out, 1-0 psl. Psl continued to push looking to extend there lead as doodington were all over the shot. 10 mins after psl took the lead, they scored again after a goal kick from ME was flicked on by our midfield to send sandford clear through one on one with the keeper, as the keeper came out sandford lobbed him from just inside the penalty area to put psl 2-0 up and in complete control.

As the 1st half draws to an end doddington find themselves on a rare attack which earns them a corner, they take a quick short corner and there striker ( with 3 defenders around him ) manages to turn and bend a delightful shot into the top far corner, 2-1. Within minutes of doddington getting back into the game milne fires a shot across goal to make it 3-1.

Second half gets under way in within 2 mins of the restart doddington pull a goal back through some very dodgey defending. 3-2...game gets underway and doddington have started to show that they want some part of this game and continue to pressurise psl, n there pressure is reward early on as they equalise n make the game 3-3. Psl lads are starting to drop heads and dont look interested in the game at all, half way through the first half and doddingtons pressure takes its toll n they go 3-4 up, as time is running out n psl look lost for a response the ref gives what i feel was a very weak penalty to psl, up steps deboo to slot home n the final result is 4-4.. we were very very lucky to come away with a point when we should have taken all 3 points ( going on 1st half performance only )..we need to learn to play for 90mins and not just 45mins, i could blame the result on shortage of players but thats a lame ass excuse, we simply wernt good enough on the day & need to improve fast if we are to achieve anything this season. Thanks to the doodington lads for a great game n to be fair to them they deserved to take away 3 points.

Ritchie, hope your dad is ok mate.

PSL again played 45mins of good football followed by 45mins of the complete opposite. Despite a few mistakes at the back it was a good first half performance going in at 3-1 up. After half time though the tables turned and PSL just couldn't get hold of the ball and keep it. It wasn't long before Doddington scored a few goals. After the ref missed a few pushes in the box earlier in the game he gave a soft decision for a PSL penalty which was converted and pulled us back to 4-4 late on. Overall Doddington were unlucky not to take 3 points as a couple of good chances went begging late on in the game.

Make sure your at training this week lads...we need it! :speak:

Best wishes to Ritchies Dad, we could have done with him Saturday.

Reasons why we lost:

We had no keeper, Fatboy Jim came on to be lobbed four times. Remember...white men can't jump and chubby white men with dodgy knees are no better.

We had no defence...well we did but it didn't seem like we had one.

We could not pass the ball to our own players, though we did play some cracking balls through for Doddington.

Overall WE WERE CRAP.

If we don't sort our sorry ass' out we will struggle in a league that we should be winning easily.

Players need to stop standing around with their hands on their hips thinking they are better than they are and looking at everyone else to blame ... like i am doing now.

I am now off to sulk and cry.

That step over was possibly the best ever bad bit of skill I've ever seen. Should have had a camera for You've Been Framed!

I know think im actually gonna go training on Wednesday and work on it. On a serious note though Braggy we gotta sort it out and get the discipline back and players playing for position, like we did towards the end of last season.

I know Jimmy's trying hard, but the boys gotta start performing themselves...

Im in a right mood

Well hopefully that game will have woken up a few people, if not then its our job to give them a kick up the backside and start playing how we know we can. :hbgr: Sometimes its hard work!

We'll have a keeper one way or the other this weekend. If Richie's back we've got my pace up front to add as well

Slim Bratts - everyone was :bby: after the game, the disappointment showed on their faces and i am pleased we all thrashed it out in the changing room after the game!! I just wish certain players put as much effort in their game as they do there opinions and moaning, if they did that we'd be unbeatable!!

Totally agree with all your comments, apart form saying i am FAT n OLD and DODGEY!! I am not fat i am undertall ( hence i got lobbed 4 times ).

Away at uppingham this week lets hope for a better performance n 3 much needed points.
