why flog a dead horse.

write to county and complain.

then ask for affli fees back from the league. if a ref turns up and there isn't enough players to play the game he is still entitled to half his pay. wonder if you boys turn up and there is no ref are you entitled to half travel fees.

I don't blame the league secretary and the five year plan in any way at all. It must be because of Sept 11th or the Greenhouse effect.

oh dear... not looking so good then!
Ahhh well, we all had a chance to speak up at the AGM but most, although saying in private they wanted change, seemed content to sit and watch the committee ramble on and blame others for the state we're in..
I still think it's all my fault but I can't work out why/how

you could maybe understand why the Coates lads had enough of it all now?

carefree
14-09-2007, 13:19
plus maybe you or the council should be entitled to half the pitch rental?

Wait for it . . . "and this post is now closed"

carefree
14-09-2007, 13:27
its just with all the money the league has and they are quick to hand out fines when you boys feck up, then maybe they should also get fined for their feck ups yeah? referee shortage yeah ok, so give then more money and make it worth while for them! or even pay the club the ref fees so they can find a willing person.

14-09-2007, 13:28
p.s what are the fees ref's get for sunday footy?

It's a shame when a couple of new ones come through like that Nicolae Manolescu - surely if people really got off their arses, some more could be found - even within the recent influx of legal economic immigrants? Just a thought.

Especially when there is money in the League's bank account? :soo:

like the comment about topics being closed when they get to the heart of the matter, better keep it simple otherwise my registration for scarlets may get held up. last year they struggled a little for refs but with the loss of a league surley it shouldnt be to bad theres only about 20 fixtures compared to about 40 on a saturday. the fee for a ref i think is about 25 on a sunday

jb
14-09-2007, 14:10
i thought the league brought in a rule that each club should have someone to step in as ref if required? or was that just an idea?

Raph
14-09-2007, 14:14
Was a good idea, but again the clubs get blamed for not volunteering a person to train as ref. IT SHOULD BE MADE COMPULSORY FOR EVERY CLUB REGISTERED TO HAVE A PLAYER/CLUB MEMBER, TRAINED AS REF - SIMPLE AS. IF YOUR DIVISION HAS A WEEK OFF EVERY THREE WEEKS - AS BACKOFTHENET SUGGESTED, THEN YOUR PLAYER/CLUB OFFICIAL SHOULD BE MADE AVAILABLE TO REF IN ANOTHER DIVISION THAT WEEK. YOU DON'T LIKE IT, DON'T REGISTER A TEAM AND DON'T COMPLAIN ABOUT LACK OF REF. (end of capital letters) :gun:

Cant believe your calling me a SL(shirt lifter) you have no idea how deeply tat cuts

although Raph there is a lot of banter going about this is a serious reply... i dont think you can expect to have a ref at every club although it would help a great deal the people that turn up for the clubs on a sunday are there to play football not be moaned at for decisions and do something they dont enjoy.

i have no idea why the racing game is called off could be nol ref but i really hope there are not many more games called i dont fancy playing midweek games especially not at my age.

14-09-2007, 14:42
Mate, there is always a manager or player at one team who'd be willing to do one match a season - that's all it would take. If your Division misses one game every three weeks, that would be ten teams having a break and only one or two refs needed from those ten teams - not a big ask is it really - to ensure you don't have games called off? Some people don't play on a Saturday and really look forward to their Sunday mornings and it's starting to become not-so-fun. :soo:

yeah i know what you mean - thats in response to your first comment not your second!
it would make life easier but i dont know anyone on my team that would enjoy reffing and thats what its all about. like al mentioned earlier if its clearly struggling to the extent that whole divisions are being canx'd then the incentice to the people that are willing she be far more beneficial.
dont ask me how beneficial i wouldnt ref for £50 a game but im sire some would for far less.

think we over discussed this ref per club thing last season , anyway i thought i read in the paper the league has actually got some extra refs this year for sunday mornings .im all for payin refs an extra 5 quid for some of the rubbish they have 2 put up with some teams .

its now mid sept and there are now like 4 games off because of refs . wonder what this weeks excuse will be . is there another tournament happenin ? people on holiday ? cup competitions? or have the league expected this as this is the norm for mid septemebr?

i am startin wonder why this is happenin , hmmmmmm

lack of refs mate I'd have thought?
Seriously though, it does look as if it could become a problem, but the 5 year plan is nearly finished and we have recruited more refs as you say so what can the problem be??? if you listen to some of the committee at the AGM and in the press it's all our fault for talking about it online and nothing whatsoever to do with them or the manner in which the communicate with the clubs they serve!!!
It's getting boring repeating it though - someone mentioned writing to them or fining them - hahahaha thats a laugh, they dish fines out at the drop of a hat but even trying to get a vote organised at their AGM is blocked so what chance have you got?? it's their way or the highway in their eyes and picking up the phone to actually speak with people is modern MAGIC in their eyes I'm sure

lol nice one botn .... nothin like takn comment at face value lol !

ok let me rephase the statement ..... i wonder if there is any hidden agendas behind this???

hmmm maybe its to much watchin farenheight 9/11 , but i bet michael moore would get some answers other than lack of refs as like i say more refs were supposed to be on board .

id rather not keep on about this but its diabolical , i have only been involved ( well just a watcher 4 a while) in this league for 8 years n i know there are more out there with more years of experience but i for one have never come across this prob half way through septemeber .

Letter = physical evidence

Telephone call = circumstantial.

If they do everything in writing, they can be prompted by someone with knowledge of the law and repercussion of their actions.

If they do it on the phone, they cannot be advised before responding.

it's Sunday league footy Raph not the FBI...
pick up the phone and tell people what's happening or what they need to do to avoid being fined etc or email them??? writing to people for small matters is arcane and most dont bother hence fines and mistrust builds!

as for refs... who knows whats going on!
just happy our game is on.... hold on a letter has just arrived
