Haven't go the time this week to write a match report as working way, but Whittlesey kept up their good start to the season with a rousing 8-1 home win against Leverington on Saturday. The boys were good vs Holbeach but they were even better on Saturday, we were 2-0 up inside the first 5 mins and never looked back. It wasn't the best Leverington side I have ever seen but you can only continue to beat what is in front of you. Hibbo was in sensational form again with 5 quality goals, and the whole team were superb. Special mention for our 8th i think which was probably one of the best team goals I have ever seen, with Ad Moore, Micky Burch and Danny Baxter creating a contender for goal of the season.

No game this week but we have a tough one next up Moulton down the Manor on the 15th Sept, looking forward to what I am sure will be a competitive outing.

COME ON

Ben - early season observations :-

The lads hit the blocks running and played some excellent stuff, but for me Danny Baxter was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch, he was superb on Saturday.
I think that despite some early reservations that they are too alike Hibbo and Micky are jelling nicely as a strike pair, and if Micky continues to put a shift in like he did, I dont care that its Hibbo who notches because I see them as a pair.
Its gonna be very difficult for the likes of Bob and Stef to get back in the side if Adam and Ryan play with the same tempo they gave us on Saturday - and if there is a better keeper than Fletch playing in Combi 1 I have yet to see him. The defence isnt going to ship too many goals, and with the srikers scoring as regularly as they have, our master plan, we have worked on for the last couple of years is taking shape nicely - and to top it off we have Matty - that lad has a big future, wherever he chooses to play next - just happy in the knowledge he is with us, for this season at least. See you tomorrow at training :nwy:
