View Full Version : 8/9/7 Predictions Div 2
Benwick Athletic 1 v 3 Doddington United
Castor & Ailsworth 2 v 1 Manea United
Chatteris Fen Tigers 1 v 4 Eye Sports
March St Marys 3 v 1 Warboys Town FC
Peterborough City 20 v 20 Peterborough Rovers
Sawtry 4 v 4 Real March
Stilton United 5 v 2 Langtoft United
Benwick Athletic 1 v 4 Doddington United - Never seen Doddington to struggle like this but still expect them to be too good for Benwick
Castor & Ailsworth 3 v 1 Manea United - Still think Manea are a good side but expect home advantage to be the deciding factor
Chatteris Fen Tigers 0 v 10 Eye Sports - Could be a long season. Even the local paper was speculating when (not if) they would concede 100 goals!!!
March St Marys 2 v 1 Warboys Town FC - St Marys to edge it but expect both teams to finish close to each other come end of season.
Peterborough City 0 v 4 Peterborough Rovers - Hope City improve soon. I've heard they were set up to give their youngsters a progression?
Sawtry 5 v 2 Real March - Definate improvement from Real March though having watched the same fixture last year.
Stilton United 6 v 1 Langtoft United - After the result at Real March can't see much of a challeng for Stilton.

BENWICK 2-4 DODDINGTON
Fancy my old team to push them all the way
CASTOR 3-3 MANEA
Best game of the weekend, can't see them being seperated
CHATTERIS FT 0-7 EYE SPORTS AND SOCIAL
One way traffic!!!!
MARCH ST MARYS 1-2 WARBOYS
Think they will just nick this one
P'BORO CITY 1-4 P'BORO ROVERS
Don't know anything about City, but i know Rovers pushed us all the way at the Manor last season
SAWTRY 4-2 REAL MARCH
I believe Sawtry are better than their Stilton result suggested
STILTON 8-1 LANGTOFT
Best team in the league i am thinking!
BENWICK 0-3 DODDINGTON
CASTOR 3-2 MANEA
CHATTERIS FT 0-9 EYE SPORTS AND SOCIAL
MARCH ST MARYS 0-2 WARBOYS
P'BORO CITY 0-2 P'BORO ROVERS
SAWTRY 2-2 REAL MARCH
STILTON 5-0 LANGTOFT
BENWICK 2 - 2 DODDINGTON
Benwick have improved on last year and doddington have been un predictable.
CASTOR 4-1 MANEA
castor will be to good for manea. I don’t rate manea that much,
CHATTERIS FT 2-3 EYE SPORTS AND SOCIAL
chatteris have had a v.poor start so eye to win
MARCH ST MARYS 1-3 WARBOYS
team spirit of war boys is hugh they will win definatly
P'BORO CITY 1-4 P'BORO ROVERS
City are rubbish and p.rovers should destroy them win ease
SAWTRY 1-3REAL MARCH
Playing for real march I believe due to having a fully fit first team out this weekend we can beat sawtry,
STILTON 8-0 LANGTOFT
Langtoft can’t score for toffee stilton to win by far
If Sparky is a betting man he would get good odds on some of those predictions.
Benwick 1 v 3 Doddington Improved yes, but not enough to beat Dodd.
Castor 2 v 2 Manea Manea are better than you give them credit for.
Chatt FT 0 v 9 Eye Could be more.
St Marys 0 v 4 Warboys Made some signings and progress.
City 1 v 3 Rovers The only one you are even close to. Who are City ?
Sawtry 4 v 2 Real Real-ity check required, again.
Stilton 5 v 2 Langtoft Score for fun, but will they concede ?
I've said it before. So pleased to be out of this league. Any 2 from 8 for promotion.
BENWICK 0 - 4 DODDINGTON At some point i expect Doddington to start winning.
CASTOR 2-2 MANEA Sparky, you have given Manea their team talk when you come up against them, both good teams who will be near the top in 8 months.
CHATTERIS FT 0-7 EYE SPORTS AND SOCIAL Eye will be far to strong, small pitch so might not get double figures, sorry Chatteris.
MARCH ST MARYS 2-3 WARBOYS You know everything Sparky.
P'BORO CITY 0-5 P'BORO ROVERS Easy win, i think we have a new Benwick.
SAWTRY 3-2REAL MARCH Could be close, Real will be unpredictable this season, although Sawtry should be the better side.
STILTON ?-? LANGTOFT Close game, hopefully we can edge it.

Be surprised if langtoft don't play better this week 9 players return that were missing last week plus a raid on my reserves good job we have a big squad,
Good to see the banter still flowing so i'd like to say that Sparky you are very blinkered mate if all your predictions are based on results so far this season how the hell have you got a 2-3 result for chatteris vs eye when eye have conceed 1 goal so far and chatteris are struggling? im not saying that wont be the result or that chatteris wont win but i'd love to know how you pull a stilton 7-0 win with eye 3-2 against struggling opps.
oh and you are totally overrating your self and your team. your really not that good.

I was thinking that Harbs - he seems to be judging us on last seasons squad!
Castor are the best, everyone else is sh*t.
Sorry, something just 'sparked' me off there!
thats right everyone. harbs you seem to have a chip on your shoulder and i don't know why. i'm crap you say but you've never played against me. wheres the theory behind that???. :soo:
i played at a high level than this! have you?????
i'm being slattered for being confident in my team don't we all do that?
sounds like someone is jelous maybe.

Here goes.....
Benwick 1 v 4 Doddington - Think Dodd will have enough to win this
Castor 2 v 3 Manea - Yido to score last minute winner!!!
Chatt FT 0 v 11 Eye - Easy win for Eye
St Marys 0 v 3 Warboys - Warboys stronger this yr
City 0 v 4 Rovers - Rovers to win here
Sawtry 3 v 1 Real - Altho good result last week for march think Sawtry will be too strong for them this week.
Stilton 3 v 2 Langtoft Think this will be close.
no mate i have never played higher i play to my means, it seems you over looked the point of the post, i wanted to know how you have you to beat Sawtry so convincingly stilton to continue on a riot yet eye who have the best defensive record in the league and a very good goals for record to win 3-2, you are right i have never played against you can't say im looking forwards to it either. im a bit bored of listening about how good you are. but if your predictions are correct and you beat SAWTRY so easily and we do in fact struggle against chatteris i will buy all YOUR drinks after the game when we play you.
my bad i mean sawtry.
i don't play for castor? so i haven't said we'll beat manea. i play for real march.

i don't play for castor? so i haven't said we'll beat manea. i play for real march.
Sums it up
All we are saying is, Eye are a lot stronger than last year. We have a lot of players that have played at a higher level (I was UCL prem @ 18, for example) but I have retired again now!!
Stilton beat Chatteris easily and so have another team. I fancy us to put at least 6 past them, it's a small pitch up there.[/quote]
ok amended, but you still have selective responses. would like to know why we will struggle in your opinion after the way we have started the season.
I SAID YOU WOULD BEAT CHATTERIS DID I NOT. I BELIEVE YOU PREDICTED US TO LOSE TO LANGTOFT BUT WE DIDN'T
AND ALSO I DID TAKE LAST YEAR INTO CONSIDERATION. WHY WOULDN'T I. WE BEAT YOU 5-2 I SCORED 3 AND WE HAD A RUBBISH TEAM THEN.
SO I DIDN'T THINK YOU'D BE THAT GOOD THIS YEAR.
AND YOU OBVIOUSLY THINK THE SAME ABOUT REAL MARCH!
Go on Harbs get stuck in son!
Sparky you are my hero, perhaps when you play us (Stilton) you and Bainesy can have a competition to see who can sign the most autographs, i will be first in the queue for yours buddy.
You may well be in for a kicking when you play Eye mate, i think 'Sparks' will fly  , oh no, i think i may have embaressed myself almost as much as you have Sparky.
if you take into consideration buddy that all your predictions for this week have been based on performances so far this season then you seem wayward.
i predicted you to loose in the first game of the season its a 50/50 when you know nothing about a team.
but based on your results so far i probably would have you down for a win/draw this week.
i don't really think your team is **** im pulling your chain again i know sweet F.A about you or your team.
lets see if i owe you a good p1ss up when we play you but i have a feeling i wont. and believe me im not jealous of you or your ability just intreagued why your so good yet playing in division 2?? opening a new debate on that note.
I get kicked most games mate. so nothing will change there. good players get kicked regulary as people who can't tackle just foul them
i have 3 kids under 3 and i work hard all week. so i don't like to be away all day saturday! familys more important than football. does that answer your question ????

This is all confusing me! :stpd:
I wouldn't bite to it Harbs!
We all know Sparky rates HIS team!
Fair play to him having the confidence,
but as Gaz said, he is defo making
himself a "targeted" man in this division!!! *bkk*
can't help if crofty lunch time boredom.
it keeps my eyes open reading on here and posting.been some gritty topics already this season. hope it continues.
Sorry, had to laugh! Looked at the Real March site as I'm still interested to know their full squad. Didn't find that, but found this... www.realmarch.com
Manager leaves club.
Chairman was asked by the manager if he could get the nets up before the players come.
The chairman says to the manager its for you to organise.
The manger gets up out of his chair in the Dun Cow pub in christchurch and says "im off good luck on saturday lads"
Chairman looks for new manager.
Manager expects the chairman to chase him.
Chairman feels it was a stupid thing to leave the club on, and has no interest in him coming back, bearing in mind he was paying him, and feels he had the right to say to him to organise putting the nets up.
and
This month did see the manager and chairman come to blows in the Dun Cow pub in Christchurch and the manager leaving, then wanting to come back under the same agreement which was turned down by the chairman.
Well i hope they get it sorted out.
Regardless of the banter and digging March have started off real well and i hope it continues. keep the league competative and days like today to come.

Totally agree Harbs!
Although us Coates lot are pleased to
be out of Div 2 cos its miles stronger this
season, we are defo missing out on the
best banter!!
Keep it up Harbs!!
This is the only thing i miss so far this season being out of DIV2, is the banter. Had a laugh n giggle n wind ups with the likes of crofty, dave n 2morrow, need a few more like that in combi 2. Sparky dont know ya mate n never played against you, but if you n your team are as good as you say you are you should be in the peterborough prem in no time!!
Simplyme, retired? again? you sure on that one?

i have 3 kids under 3 and i work hard all week. so i don't like to be away all day saturday! familys more important than football. does that answer your question ????
what question was that answer referring to Sparky?
yeah family is important but Saturdays are all about football.
"i have 3 kids under 3 and i work hard all week" . . . . . that's a good effort, but does the 'Dun Cow in Christchurch' not have a Durex machine? !! Only kidding; I'm guessing they have Stella on tap too if people want to fight all of the time!
In all fairness, Real March are getting better with each game, but so are your posts Sparky - you brighten up my day with your :duel: duelling banter!

I THINK ITS WRONG TO AIR YOUR DIRTY WASHING ON YOUR WEBSITE SO EVERY ONE CAN SEE......BUT......DONT BELIEVE ALL YOU READ???
FOR INSTANCE....WHEN THE MANAGER WALKED, HE HAD NO INTENTION OF RETURNING EVEN THOUGH THE CHAIRMAN TRIED TO GET HIM BACK
THE ALTERCATION IN THE PUB WAS ONLY A VERY VERY SMALL TIP OF THE ICEBERG
FACT!......IF THE MANAGER NOW MANAGED A SIDE NOT IN THE PETERBOROUGH LEAGUE (DUE TO 7 DAYERS ETC) A MINIMUM OF AT LEAST 10 PLAYERS FROM RMFC WOULD PLAY FOR HIM AT HIS NEW CLUB
BUT ITS NOW YESTERDAYS NEWS SO LETS LEAVE IT AT THAT BEFORE THE REAL TRUTH COMES OUT AND IT GETS NASTY COS FOOTBALLS ABOUT MAKING FRIENDS NOT ENEMIES
I KNOW THE MANAGERS OPINION IS...."SA LA VIE"

Let's all chill out and be friends eh! Let's have banter, but not take it too far :bby:
I think Real March has just lost it's fanbase...
Real Christchurch sound good?
With every post you dig yourself deeper Sparky, it's brilliant, keep up the good work :nwy:
How about Real nothing? We aren't in Spain and there is certainly nothing remotely regal about March or Christchurch! Should be Christchurch FC.

Right, heres the deal. lets see how long we can do without mentioning Real March FC in every post and only mention them in contexts about "football". We seem to have forgotton that there are 44 other 1st teams in the peterborough league?
Just all chill out and enjoy the football and this super forum discussion site
no snide remarks no back biting just pure good fun banter (not personal)...........it'll all end in tears, especially when teams meet on the pitch???
I dont do forcasts.........im the local bookies favorite punter?
I agree we should all have a laugh in these forums. Jb i apalogise for my coments. i hope everyone has a great weekend of football.
Bystander - unless i am reading something different, i see most of the posting on here about ' Sparky ' n 'Real March ' as nothing but tongue in cheek banter anyway, even tho the guy clearly sets himself up for p1ss taking.
Exactly. Nothing serious, the banter lightens up an incredibly tedious day!
you're all **** none of you are any good
of course i'm joking.
what have i missed here then?? its not too serious except JB found just below the belt with his low blow but thats part of the fun Sparky took it on the chin.
so does any one have a new topic we can all get stuck into?
like i do actually think Napoli is being carried by his team :)
Harbs - have they got enough players to carry napoli then ( he aint a small lad )
JOKING!!!! -
I take it that as there is a 'Slim Bratts' on here then you cannot be the most trim bloke in the world. Joking, i feel i must apologise after every bit of banter.
This is true GAZZA - i have gained a FEW pounds but that comes with age n :bub: ..
Even tho my brother ' slim bratts ' is carrying a spare tyre himself
What happened to your boys losing then, have you not got many ex Farcet players at PSL? We fancied you lot (Farcet) to make a challenge in Div 2 this season had you kept the team that beat us at the back end of last season. Why did it fold out of interest?
Players carrying me? Hell yeah! Hey, how many have you scored so far this season Mr Harbour? haha - I got two, including one from 30 yards against Real Sparks too
Oh . . . and Bratts - I'm big enough to kick your ass! :batr:
Gazza - our 1st game last week away at ketton got off to a shambles to start with, due to the fact we had no ref n the league saying we had to play the game regardless, reason we lost was down to very poor finishing ( i think some one said we had 36 shots on goal ) and only scored 2, and very very very poor defending ( they had 6 shoots n scored 4 ), hopefully by the end of next week the defensive problem will be sorted due to making 2 good signings. Still have alot to play for n i am sure the lads will put it right this saturday!!!
As for farcet - as many people know i was struggling most of last season with getting players to turn out, thankfully a young ( ish ) man by the name of seb hayes came along to help out n brought several good players with him. However seb got an offer he felt he couldnt turn down at a bigger n better club for this season, so off he went ( hope its going well seb ). I was going to continue running the team myself, but after a couple of weeks thinking about it, i didnt really fancy carrying on at that club so i left and 1 of my players took over. I then contacted Al at PSL n asked what was happening with the reserves there as i was looking for a new challenge n new club, we met uo had a chat n i took ( or given ) the position and so far i am loving every minute of it. A few of the lads ( including the lad that was going to run farcet ) heard were i was at and asked if they could come alonh, n that why farcet folded ( unfortunately ).
FCUK me thats the longest post i've ever done
Napoli - bring it on, i will :batr: then give you a big  after
Love you too man (sniffle)
I could'nt ask for a more comprehensive answer than that, cheers. Good luck tomorrow.

Booo! To Farcet folding, i woulda loved to have continued in that Division, and we may have had a chance to get promoted, if we continued where we left off at end of last season (obviously wouldn't have won with Baines at Stilton and Sparky at Real) and alot of the teams seem to have improved, but would have been some great games.
Unfortunately we are now playing in a s**t reserve league (no offence reserve people), had to witness our first game at Ketton from sidelines due to injury, if i'd been playing woulda been a different story... (we woulda lost 6-2 instead of 4-2).
As for my 'spare tyre' Bratts...i know where you live.
Damn i didnt take the **** out of anybody.
Gazza- thanks mate n same to you boys:
As for you slim bratts if you na where i live why you never visit? :bby:
Even tho we in a reserve league, n we lost last week, i believe the team i have now would have done well if we had been in div 2, but i chose to continue my football in res div 2 so not going to comment on how good or bad this division is until i've won it!!

After winning that s*** league last season i would like to say enjoy it im sure you will do well, its got some poor teas but also some very good teams and remember teams change every year so those that didnt do well last year like ketton or doddington may well do well this year, we hadn't won anything for years until i took over and started setting... ahem sorry getting carried away
trust me div 1 is hard enjoy div 2 why you can
Players carrying me? Hell yeah! Hey, how many have you scored so far this season Mr Harbour? haha - I got two, including one from 30 yards against Real Sparks too
urm seems you have scored more goals than i have played games mate so im buried after that one. although i did have a 1 on 1 on saturday but squared it to their defender at the vital 10 yards out point!
 sparky no offence taken mate and i'm sure you have now got your feet on the ground to realise this forum is mainly a stage for some good banter. couldn't be more opposite with your assumption of my life so thats either good banter or shocking judgement :soo: as for poo-geot i certainly spelt that right!(apologies for peugoet owners but they really are crap!)
Harbs- YOU LOVE IT BRO!!
-But no 3am post when your steaming drunk from Friday night this year please Mr Harbour.
:bub:
What would your manager say!!??
:pty2:
plenty of time yet nips!
Since when did you learn to find anything on a pc other than Porn you sneaky devil!
amazed you up and about matey.
good luck tomorrow... today really.
early start early finish COME ON ENGLAND!
ok so here's the deal.
we won 3-2 .......ha no way it was 9-2 but the lino needs to paid overtime (not because he cheated) right or wrong we had over 30 off side decisions in the first half alone. (ask any chatteris player-manager they will tell you poor guy must have had a dead arm!
we scored at least 6 goals but only 3 stood (offside the other 3)
we hit the cross bar 4 times we missed at least 7-8 1-on-1's that were not off side and the rest of the goals were solo efforst from mid field (had to be) or Wimbledon - keeper to striker to centre spot mis out the whole midfield hoofs that caught their defence off guard.
i love the modesty of teams like that they scored two excellent goals my bad for one of them mis placed pass but good finish. and second goal was a hell of a strike. but hand on heart 20 goals could have gone in if we were on par.
look forwards to seeing the rest of the results.
simplyme

Who got the goals Harbs?
Results:
Benwick 2 Doddington 8
Castor 2 Manea 3
March St Marys 0 Warboys 2
Pboro City 2 Pboro Rovers 5
Sawtry 3 Real March 2
Sliton 2 Langtoft 2
we had Dean the lucky feckClarke with 3
some strange lad that supports man u with 3
Ebbo the machine ebbage with
and Danny "i forgot the footballs today lads" Clifton 1
very surreal game it seriouly could have been a whole heap more and i mean 20+ if the forwards could step back a yard.
so from those results it seems there is only one team doing the walking and not just the talking hey sparks.
Still not scored then Harbs? !!!
if i can't score in a game where it was 9-2 and should have been a lot more i think i will resign to not scoring full stop.
how did you get on this weekend?
i thought there would be loads of chat on here after all the big build up but its very quiet.
how did everyone get on with their predictions??
Well I got the Stilton and Castor results wrong.
I was right to give more credit to Manea, I just didn't quite give em enough. And I didn't give enough credit to Langtoft who got a good draw at in form Stilton. Trust me, any lost points in this Div will cost you.
Look at last years table.
My predictions were ok for the first time ever. A few big games this coming weekend, hoping the Stilton boys can bounce back from saturdays game, a below par footballing performance, but the lads showed great character again to come from behind twice in a very scrappy game that was played mostly in the air. Think Langtoft look a solid side, there defence was very organised and deserve a lot of credit, apparently it was pretty much their reserves who got beat last week, they will undoubtedly take points off top teams and could be challenging at the end themselves. More difficult test for you lot this week Harbs?
Yes mate, I scored again (3 in 3), but we lost against Manea 2-3; which was not a good result or performance by any stretch of the imagination!
To be fair to Manea, they defended resolutely and were quick and precise on the attack - but these are the games that we should be winning in this division, if we want to be promoted. Well done to Manea though.
Rapha - to say that these are the sort of games you should be winning to get promoted ( against manea ), unless you absolutely battered them, could be your un doing. Yes you have a great side at castor, but from what i remember playing against manea over the last 3 previous season they are a team that on there day will beat anyone and always finish up there!
Would have been nice to see you boys win again though.
Harbs its saying something mate if you cant score but danny can ( only joking danny )
You are right Gazza it will be a test this weekend.
i really can't comment on what i think the result will be thats why i havent done any predictions since 1st game of the season i dont know any teams in this division, but it is good to see that no one is running away with the league and eveyone is a wine or two from taking the lead or getting off the bottom.
Bratts i had two shots one saved by the keepier and the re-bound while he was on the floor blazed over the bar.
personally i am pushing it in the gym to get my fitness levels back up.
its basically for when we play castor so i can try to keep up with napoli.
Haha, Harbs! Bratts, by "games we should be winning" I didn't mean any disrespect to Manea at all, what I meant was our home games. Personally I am not looking forward to away games against Manea, Stilton, Eye . . . all of them!
