View Full Version : Oundle
Having hammered Oundle last night, i fear the worst for Oundle as a club.
Managerless, and stuggling for players, there was talk in the clubhouse after the game that they would be struggling to field two teams on saturday.
I sincerely hope that all of those associated with the club can turn things round. But action has to be taken quickly, once things start going wrong it's a slippery slope.
The team actually hit the bar last night at 0-0 and caused a few problems. But once W'sey had scored, all confidence drained away.
You reap what you sow in life WAM, who forgets the disgraceful way they treated Seb Hayes as manager there, they get no sympathy from me

Spot on Spec. Seb did nothing but good things for Oundle and they treated him like that!
What goes around comes around I feel. Oundle certainly will struggle to get players out there, something Seb didn't have. I bet he's chuckling to himself on his way to Yaxley !!!
Your not taking the job then spec
I'm off luxuries at the moment G, don't think their Chairman likes me anyway mate, something to do with him working on the railways years ago and having relations on the Titanic :mnn:
we need a lino at eye Spec, as your not busy on a Saturday now.
Keep training hard Harbs and you'll get the job, it's one step nearer to the team
no they are looking for a lino that lasts 90 mins not 45.
don't you have the urge to just get involved somewhere?
Not remotely young man, quite happy watching the odd game here and there, professional and Peterborough Prem but i must say I have enjoyed all the Prem games I have seen better then the pro ones and 2 of those were premiership matches
well there's clearly a lot of passion still in the game at our level.
i've never played on a sat other than the reserves so had no idea what the football would be like in lower divisions and am suprised to see some of the talent in these divisions that could clearly play higher.
so i guess playing with your mates and having fun is what its all about.

I thought I would throw in my tuppence worth re. Oundle. We were 0-0 with Whittlesey after 35 minutes, more due to Whittlesey not having their foot on the peddle to be fair, but a decent start by any account.
The rot has set in due to the new manager who was an utter disgrace. He under estimated the PDFL. The two players he brought in weren't even good enough to play reserve standard and he has now left us in an extremely difficult position.
However, I am confident we will turn it around. We know now it is a case of avoiding relegation (that's bad after only three games !). We do actually have 5/6 good players, it is in the other positions we need to strengthen.....and quick. You never know there may be a surprise in terms of management. We only had 5 points in November last season and rallied well, so who knows.
I wasn't there when your man was there so cannot comment on his treatment. Spec, I can't believe there is anyone who would have a bad word to say about you me ol' mate, and the door would be open where ever you went. £50 a game ?
Football has never been about money for me mate and any club paying me £50 a game would get that back with the first round of drinks after  Thanks for the nice comments it is good to know that somebody still likes me out there!! still having a year out though (at least)

You pay £50 for the privilige I meant. I was joking before I get summoned by the Chairman for a breech of the football code.
Cost you that in petrol AL, imagine that trip every game from your neck of the woods
