View Full Version : Combination Div 2
Thought I'd take the time to register again. After a couple of seasons plodding away in the Cambs League, and before that the Isle League, I am now playing for March St. Marys. in Combination 2. Have always taken an interest in the league having played for March Braza as a 16 year old.
I have not played all the matches for March St. Mary's this season as I am struggling with an injury that will only heal with long term rest, and I am too impatient really though hopefully a break over Xmas will do the trick.
Though having not played all the matches this season, I feel the best team that we have played so far this season in the league are Stilton. Despite us taking a shock early lead, they set about taking us apart, and got off to a deserved convincing win. Only drawback to them I feel was the attitude of a couple of their players once the game was won, but that was only from a couple, and I suppose that's part of football.
This weekend we played Guyhirn. Both teams had players missing, and Guyhirn edged a 1-0 win, which was just about deserved in fairness as we didn't really threaten their goal in the second half. However, a first half substitution with a player being brought on alledgedly not being amongst the list of named substitutes means that the result could yet be contested...
Anyway, good to meet Mark Chambers and see him at a Div 2 match in the Fens!!! It should also be noted that the ref had a good match.
Would be good for all other people connected to a Div 2 club to reply to this thread just so I can see who's on here.

Its about time someone in here can talk about us lower div teams.Even though i'm the gaffa of a comb div 2 Res team its about time we had some chat about the unsung hero''s of the lower leagues. :snt:
What team are you involved with? What is the standard like in the Div 2 res league?
I would consider myself capable of the old Div 3 standard at best having played alot for Hereward a few years back, and I would suggest that most teams in the league are of that standard or higher, with the possible exception of us, the teams around us, and definately Emneth (despite their recent good win which may show a turnaround).
The upshot for us is a good standard of opposition, and considering St. Marys results last season, this season is a 10 fold improvement. However, unless we bring in a lot of new players in, were are likely to only make up the numbers, whereas maybe we could have challenged in a lower league...

I'm the Player/manager of PSL res .I used to be at March town res years ago, so i know what its like playing in the fens in the freezing cold.I personally think they have messed up the league system this year.My guys are on a roll at the moment( which im not Bragging about)!!!, but their questions to me each saturday, are always the same .. What if we go up this year ??? we cant go any further nxt year if we happen to do well ???
The standard has been worse this year compared to last ( not dissing any other teams in our league)
Last year we were in div3 .. not bad .. but u were playing against the likes of guyhirn, stilton,coates.. and this year we have only played 2 teams who gave us a battle .. somthings not right ????? :soo:
Bif, you were in my opinion the best team we played over 2 games in the old Div 3 last year. Did you manage to keep all your players ? I would have thought a couple would have been knocking on the first team door. Surely your players should be asking about playing for the first team and not what will happen next year. Your number 11 last year was a class act.
Div 2 is interesting if everyone wins their games in hand, it's a three way tie at the top. Coates missed a great opportunity Saturday to open up a gap over Thorney but lost. Far too many Coates players can't take their ale on a Fri night :bub: Similar story with a couple of the Thorney players as you mentioned about Stilton and I'm sure we have a few as well. You have to be able to win and lose gracefully.
We play Stilton on Sat, big game for us.

evening CAFC , to be honest i have kept all those players .They are a loyal bunch, they have been wiv me for the last 6 yrs ???
that number 11 became a DAD last saturday (jamie ling) and then he goe's and celebrate's it by scoring 5 this sat just gone.
the best game for us against you was at your place in the "Boggy mud lesuire centre" where sum how we won 3-1 ???????
The guys i have only playing cuz im in charge, thye don't wanna play 1t team footie.
Wrong ..i know , but what can i do ?
Nice photo in the et .. what doe's doyle think he is doing ???
you seem to be going great guns this year ?

As already stated it's good to get some chat and debate about the lower divisions going. Good to see your boys going so well Biffa - it was always a pleasure playing your teams whether March or Sports. Is Waggy still with you this season? If so how's he getting on?
Hope your enjoying your football with St Marys Teilo. I think we played you guys first game of the season but wasn't there myself. It's certainly looking to be a tight race with ourselves, Stilton and Coates. I still maintain Coates are favourites but it's a long old race. Not having a reserve team will count against us I think.
As for Saturday Gary it was another good game. Just proves there's very little between the two teams. We've played 210 minutes of footie against each other already and whilst both teams have had good spells you wouldn't want to put too much on the third game - too close to call!
I guess the reaction of a couple of our players was uncalled for at the final whistle but they were rankled by exactly the same thing the other way after the first game so I guess you're right - we all have a couple of them!
Anyway as I've already stated it's going to be a three horse race for the Div 2 title would anyone like to add any more names to the frame?

i play for the res's at psl and the 1st team and we could certainly finish above the bottom three in the prem!(not bad for a team technically 4 leagues below!).
cafc as you said we were the best team you came up against last season and you seem to be walking div 2! we are much stronger this year and deserve to at least be up in that league with you but surprise surprise its been ruined by a load of old fuddie duddies out of touch with reality at the leagues who decided to change something that didn't need it at all. they should have put there efforts into shaking up sunday morning football but thats another issue discussed a long time ago on the old forum.
we are unbeaten in the league where we have been through a sticky patch and grinded out some draws but we now seem to have our season back on track after some impresive performances in the last 2 weeks. ironically the hardest game we've played all season was against pinchbeck res's in the cup who are in the league below us and one of the easiest was against the team just behind us in the league but that was when we were going through our sticky patch and conceded an equaliser with the last kick of the game in about the 95th minute  i think we are experiencing a real mis-match in the standard of teams in our league due to the reshuffle has anybody else?
biffa you've been a member on here for bloody ages now and it's about time you had a post!!!!(must admit though i've not wanted to brag on here to give us the kiss of death!)
JB, I don't agree with your views on the reshuffle. The majority of Bif's team, as he said will only play for him so that suggests that PSL are being run as 2 seperate teams which would create a mismatch. My personal view has always been that we (Coates) will always be playing against the best team available at all times and not, as has happened over many years, been completely turned over by a Prem or Div 1 team at there ground and there genuine reserves at ours. Anyway thats old news.
We are deffinitely not running away with it, could very easily get a couple more losses in the next 2 games.
I think we should add Doddington and Manea who can take points off everyone. They may have lost too many points themselves already but they are good outfits.
Griffin Pk and Fen Tigers will cause problems at there places. GP because they can and FT because of the poxy pitch. To be fair they have there strengths too.
Added to all this, if my boys have been on the sauce the night before then it will be a 2 horse race.

love all this talk . . . .hardest game was pinchbeck?? u wouldnt have got a goal if it wasnt for us to play matty sedz centre back . we never played well but would have won 1-0 . all i say is psl boys watch out for when we play u ( if i aint bloody injured ) we have some players who will cause u problems. lookin to beat u and chatteris twice . . .
eddie you were a harder team than chatteris i'll give you that(probably cos we were awful against you) but i think we had only had 1 friendly before we played you in the first game and we were shocking. add to that new players coming in to the team we were all getting used to each other.
we showed then though what was to come-ground out a victory(mark of a top of the table side)when we were nowhere near our best. oh yeah i should also mention the fact that we had a player sent off for handball in the box and that was the only way you boys were ever gonna score! you forget i've been to see you play recently(eye sports & social res's in the cup) and we have nothing to fear.
so in conclusion we beat you with 10 men, gifted you a goal and on the day we were sh*t so we look forward to the return match but whatever the outcome we'll be out of your sights by then so if you actually win it wont affect us finishing above you!(i hope you'll be fit by then too so it'll be easier :joke: ).

u aint seen nothin like the mighty general . . . like we had friendlys and hd a great game? lol . yeah ur too far ahead ,maybe we will beat u and let chatteris win both games... lol
erm you know i've played with the general!(don't even go there with a gay joke) i've only seen him play well once and all he did was dive!
a bit risky though pinning all your hopes on one player aint it?

Wagger is doing ok ...... suspended aswell but hey thats wagg 4 yer ...
to be honest tho he got sent off in pinchbeck game which i lost the plot ...
Not going into to much detail as still not sorted but ref's mum called my daughters tw**s...
gotta be fair he is new to the team so he ook a while settling in , but he started to come good , then got injured and then suspended .. gutted
However it did mean i got a start on sat .. and yes scored 2 goals ...

Biffa - Waggy suspended???? HAHAHAHA See he's brought Thorney habits with him. Our boys are taking it in turn to get suspended at moment. Perhaps they all think they have something to live up to with Waggy's fearsome reputation!!
Talking of which - Gary (CAFC) - did you get a good view of our sending off on Saturday? Was there much in it? I was obviously down the other end fiddling with my (flag) pole. Not that I'd knock the ref as I thought he was very good. Just wondered what you thought as I only get a biased view when I ask our players!
Does everyone else have the same disciplinary problems? We have a young side so I put it down to youthful exhuberance but I'm not sure what the answer is. The manager has drilled the importance of discipline into them and they were responding until the past couple of weeks. Maybe it's something in the water.
www.thorneyfc.co.uk
I will tell you what I see.
Don't tell me he's still pleading innocent. I was with the ref after the game when he came up and said it was accidental. Unfortunately we have played the game as well. 'In my opinion' he just swung his arm into his face and unfortunately for him the ref saw it. Deffinite red.
Like I said we've all got em. Depending on the time of the month, I could lose Ross, Craig, Chalks, Mason, Proudy, Dobber, Wenham. But to be fair they aint been too bad this year and your more likely to get a red from my boys in a tackle rather than an off the ball incident. 50 50's with some of my boys I normally look the other way.
waggy was sent off thanks to a 16 yr old ref (bif earlier mentioned the ref's mum calling his kids twats). he was sent off for saying i'm fed off with this sh*t as to his missus as he was coming of the pitch when beibg subbed and the ref sent him off for it. the ref wouldn't even let bif's kids and waggys missus sit in the dugout!! thats the kind of ref's we're having to put up with!
JB you obviously prefer to play without refs if that your attitude and it is people like you who are driving them away :soo:
not at all there are a few(and only a few!) who do an excellent job. if these ref's do ok then why shouldn't the rest?
i play on a sunday afternoon and we also have a ref of 16 who has reffed us quite a few times and he does the job fine so it's not an issue of age it was the ref's attitude on the day(apparently the pinchbeck boys said his dad was also a ref and was just as bad so it's obvious where he gets it from)
if you look at some of my previous postings you'll see that i've suggested ways that would possibly improve refreeing for players and the ref's so i'm not anti-refs i just dont fancy getting put out of the game just because a ref failed to control a game as is all to often the case nowadays.
surely you cant justify the actions of a ref who makes 2 children that i think are about 1 and 3 stand next to an empty dugout? the ref was a total jobsworth and i'm not going to do any naming as i believe we've put a report in about the events of the day so i wouldn't want to screw that up.
BIFFA BACON
16-12-2005, 22:19
seriously offside ...you had to be there to witness this ref.i've reffed many a game to cover as no ref has turned up !!! i know what its like to get flack, even off ya own players, this game would be lost without the ref's of this world and i take my hat off to um !!!!! to turn up on freezing saturday a'noon to official 22 blokes kicking a ball of wind around.FAIR PLAY !!!!!!!!
JB is only specifically pointing out this 1 ref thats all ... i think ????
Have you ever had the pleasure of the female ref Helen Fulcher Ward ??
she is fantastic..........she has even had the bottle to confront one of my mean men of my team and made him look like a *****cat ....
she is good !!!!
:nwy:
i said bragging about our unbeaten start to the season would be the kiss of death!!!!!!!
most dissapointing thing is we lost to an awful team in woodlands res's and were really awful ourselves.it was a very frustrating game to watch as we had 4 players including myself who were either injured, suspended or unavailable who would be the first names on the teamsheet who give the team it's experience and quality and we all have a lot of 1st team experience so it's really hit our team hard.
hopefully christmas will allow injuries to clear up and suspensions to end and we can get back on track!
woodlands if you read this expect a totally different game when we play you again!
oh and for any psl boys reading this-sorry for letting you down with the suspension but thankfully due to christmas i've only got one more game to miss  .
also a mention for the ref he only looked about 15 so i dont think he was too old but apart from not playing advantage on a few occasions(i'm sure this will come with experience) i though he had a good game although the nature of the game was in the right spirit but maybe this was down to his competent refereeing. either way it was nice to see a new ref have a good game(i left with about 15 mins to go as it was so bloody cold so if there were any incidents after my comments on the ref then i wasn't there)

sounds like a few excuses there jb . . . lol . keep up the good work ! i too hope on the injury front things clear up.
Played Stilton on Saturday. Now there is a cracking team. Good balance all round and the guys up front are excellent, I'll be suprised if someone doesn't try to tap em up if they havn't already.
We weathered a first half storm and got into it in the second half. Was a tight game all round. Makes Div 2 even tighter for me. It's gonna take a couple of slip ups I reckon. Like I said before, points nicked by Manea, Farcet or Griffin Pk may make the difference and even bring them into the title fight.
I agree that Stilton are a good team. The strikeforce was quick, but arguably their best player was a centre mid who managed to get forward alot, and was very tough to pick up. We ended up playing 5 at the back in the second half, with one keeping an eye on the late runner.
St. Marys lost 9-1 to Griffin Park. I didn't watch the game, but we had 5 players missing, including 1 suspended, so the Xmas break couldn't have come at a better time. Griffin Park on their day will take points off any team, and I wouldn't rule them out with a good late run, probably not top spot, but maybe runners-up. You really have to be up for it when you play Griffin Park, and our team wasn't on the day.
We managed to beat GP 10 - 4 at there place, without breaking into a sweat. I wasn't happy with the rubbish we conceded and I did hear that they had some players out but we had three on a jolly to Blackpool. Was pleased to put one over on them as they had battered our reserves last season and not just by the 9 - 1 scoreline.
They were very keen to get forward, which is why I think they'll take points off the top teams.
Big Game 7th January
Manea Utd V Coates
Coates may be favourites for the title but it can not be forgotton that Manea turned Coates over 3-1 in their own back yard earlier this season and with 6 wins out of the last 7 in the league, the other being a 1-1 draw away to thorney after they equalised with the final kick. A Manea win will close the gap between them and Coates to just 2 points with same games played.
The side has strenghted from the beginning of the season and the team are playing really well. one to watch.
eddie c s
04-01-2006, 21:57
phhhhh big game?? maybe a slight important game .wish i could be there to watch
manea must have seriously improved (or the league restructure has put them in an easy league!) cos i remember playing against them a few years ago for the jubilee and if we didn't get into double figures we were really pi**ed off!
A big game indeed. As I mentioned before Manea are a very capable team although your result on the day against us owed a great deal to 'daylight robbery'. I don't actually believe we are favourites, my choice is Stilton, and I do think you are on a roll.
JB, I believe that things have changed otherwise clubs tend to fold. The standard at the top of the division is good and a good team is going to miss out on Div one and potentially lose some players as a result, There are atleast 5 players at Stilton good enough for the Prem and 3 at Thorney.
Eddie, be careful, bigger and better teams than Netherton have already been beaten by Div 2 teams.
Yes, i admit we were very lucky to win that day but we have strengthed a lot since then and are playin well and as a team. promises to be a very good game.
The most enjoyable game we have played at home this season was at home to Stilton where we won 2-1. there was a really good atmosphere and the game was played competitively and in a good spirit and now we believe we can give any team a run for their money
eddie c s

any team at all? ....
And when was the last big Saturday you played in eddie then :soo:
offside if you're referring to eddie not playing at the top level in some big games then i think you're missing a very big point-LOYALTY. a lot of clubs could benefit from the loyalty him and the other lads show to netherton on both saturdays and sundays.
oh and eddie weren't you involved which has regularly been described as the best sunday morning senior cup final of all time? oh yes and you also won it too!
offside does that answer your previous question?!
We are looking forward to it. I always thought it would be a big game, could deffinitely go either way. If my boys 'turn up' then you aint got a chance, but if they aint in top gear we could well lose any chance of promotion on Saturday. See you Sat.
I fancy Manea to win this one
top 3 final league table predictions anybody?

1 Thorney 2 Manea 3 Coates

not been on here a while , went a little quite offside? lol yes was thinking exactly the same thing jb ..... the best cup final . hopefully we have another final in us this yr . dumpin out the holders , how i loved there chants of were holders who are u .
u will like this banter jb . . . in the changin rooms they were all chatting about how northen star had beat them yesterday and they asked us which ucl sides we all played for . . . .er sorry mate only one person plays ucl and thats johnny patts! n we have 4 players playin for netherton res in combination div 2 . the looks on there faces ....
Even after Saturdays result. For me its Stilton, Thorney, Coates. Manea's goalkeeper can't play that good all season. I do think you will beat Thorney but not Stilton. Thought you were unlucky to get subbed Sat, MUFC. We looked vulnerable at free kicks and you got an aweful lot. Good luck for the rest of the season.
Nice to see March St Marys beat Eye S+S this week, lifting us up to the lofty position of 9th. Again I was injured so I can't take any credit whatsoever (plus I was working), but I am hoping to be in contention against Manea next weekend all being well. Slim chance of an upset there (1pt or even 3). Looks like St Marys had most of their players available against Eye and local derbies can have the effect of firing up the underdogs.
Meanwhile the clash of next weekend has gotta be Coates v Stilton, with the latter impressive 4-0 winners v Doddington...
Agreed. Could very well be the turning point of our season one way or another. Told them so last Sat, had no effect on there performance, so I have much to learn about motivation :soo:
Stilton, as I said before are by far the best team we have played in Div 2 and we can't afford to drop any more points this season because I can't see them getting beat.
Manea, Griffin Pk and Thorney all up for promotion. I think Doddington have been set back with the two losses to Coates and Stilton. Hoping they can take points off the top teams.
thorneyfcboy
23-01-2006, 20:08
That is a big game this week and at least Gary, you won't have to play them again this season. I was not particularly impressed with them when they beat us 1-0 but we were even poorer so I'm not sure how much can be read into that. Their consistency speaks for itself and I'm sure it'll be a cracking tie.
Our boys had a good win at Leverington in the North Cambs Cup but even more interesting was Griffin Park 5 Manea 1.
Now I know Griffin Park are a fair way behind (in points and games) but they look like they could be a dangerous dark horse and even if they don't get up there they look like a team that may well decide who does get promoted.
I still find it difficult to look past ourselves, Coates and Stilton for top 3 (not sure what order) but there is plenty of football left yet and it's certainly going to be a cracking second half of the season.
As for March St Marys Teilo - well done on 3 more points. I was impressed with the spirit and effort the previous week at our place and that obviously paid off this week with a win. Judging by what I saw I think there'll be a few more wins yet before the end of the season (hopefully vs Stilton, Coates, Manea etc etc!)

just checked out the thorney fc website-£25 allsports vouchers for the player of the month sounds good until you go into queensgate and see allsports is shut down!!! i dont think it relocated either so i think they need to find another sports shop to get their vouchers from!
excellent idea though

Don't tell our boys that Allsports is shut down. How do you think we got the vouchers so cheap!
I think actually they used to be Allsports and are maybe JJB now but I can never remember when I'm updating the website. Luckily we're able to get them sponsored most months so no extra cost and it gives the players a little something back.
What do you think of the site? We've worked hard on it but it's mainly for the feelgood factor for the players....and it seems to work.
Mick
www.thorneyfc.co.uk
I reckon anyone with a site adds a little something to the football club. I wish I could get someone from our club to get something running. As usual no one seems to have the time.
I think muggins may have to do it.
I run a site with the Girls team that I coach. It is linked in with the other girls team, and the existing Mens March Rangers team. It costs about a tenner a month, but is a very useful tool for communicating with everyone. The site is www.marchrangers.co.uk and the link to the hosts is on the left hand side. If I had the time and knowledge, I would build the site from scratch, but this is a good substitute.
eddie i'm not going to say nethertons site is the best!!!!! could do with updating more regularly though. there arent that many sites about yet and they're all pretty much the same with regards to info. club sites are a good idea cos it helps you check out the opposition and what players have been playing and who to watch etc.
also they're good for catching out teams who play ringers!!!!!!!
mark maybe the pdfl site should have a link for every team with management, contact details and a list of signed on players(maybe with pics and profiles for identification).

What great knowledge you have JB. Maybe you should offer to join the committee!!!!!!!
JB, thats one of the biggest advantages of this league set up that you have been so critical of. The fact that if you are playing the first team then where do the ringers come from ?
I think it is a good suggestion though. It's always possible that a name doesn't fit the face, not sure how you would prove it after the game though.
It is great to see that a lower division is getting an airing on the site and long may it continue. I am slowly but surely getting together a portfolio of team group photos. Managed to get four at the weekend. The intention all season has been to give each team a page on the site with a team photo. Hopefully this will inspire clubs to create their own site, which can be linked to.
I personally would love to approach all clubs to run websites on their behalf. However it would not pay the mortgage. If there are any clubs out there who have a recent team photo that they can supply to me in digital form then please send them to me to enable their upload to the PDFL site.

lol didnt expect u to say ours mate , have been on rabbits back but unfortunatly i have heard "in a couple of weeks " since august . he is a tommorow man for sure .
ringers dont have to be signed on for ur club mate . . . they could be from anywhere . although most teams have a lot of knowledge n so most dont get away with ringers .
thats the point i was making. if someone has their suspicions that a player was a possible ringer then they could get on the site check the teamsheet and see if its the same player.
I caught someone out with giving a dodgy name. Keeper gets injured, sub comes on, I know him think nothing of it. Game ends, someone raises concern that this player came as a spectator but ends up in goal 40 minutes into the game.
I check the sheet, and the name given was not the name of the player, and the person concerned has his faced plastered all round his clubs site - but with his real name!!! Nothing has come of this yet, just hope my club put in the complaint particularly as it was essentially proven in front of the referee when the player answered by his real (not assumed name) when called.
If you are planning on playing ringers, then using a website is not the best of ideas... I've seen it done in the past for teams I've played for, but it's not fun if you are dropped in favour of ringers.
Teilo, care to divulge the offending team ?
My point is that after the game has ended, doesn't it just become your word against theirs.
A few years back, we played a 'nothing game' for us but a 'big game' for our opposition. The manager gave me his team sheet in front of the ref and said that he had a guy who was going to be hear by half time, no problems with that, he was a named sub, my problem was he had signed it ?????? we were winning 2 - 0 at half time, he came on and they won 2 - 3 and he did get all three.
Do the league check the signatures ?? Only when asked ???
Mark, i'll send you a team photo.

eddie didn't netherton send a letter in about me when i one man showed your res's the day before my transfer went through?????(yes i was a ringer!) lol hence the bad feeling i had towards you boys until i returned earlier this season and cleared it up???????
Oh dear this thread was go ok. However after talking about websites you have turned it into a discussion about ringers. Lets get back to talking about the league. Thanks Gary for planning to send me a photo. To get it back on track. Are there are any other photos likely?
Teilo, care to divulge the offending team ?
My point is that after the game has ended, doesn't it just become your word against theirs.
It's not really fair for me to say. If my club reported it and the league takes action, then you'll know because hopefully you'd see a * beside their points tally. I'm planning on going training tomorrow so I'll find out whether it was reported.
It's the first time I've been able to kick a ball pain free for 2 months, so fingers crossed I get through it ok...
Anyway, that's the last I'll mention about ringers on this thread.
Look forward to seeing the pictures on the site Mark.

Mark,
Will get a photo over to you. Look forward to seeing some good photos on the league site.
The only option that's feasible for the league is a page per club where the club can log in and post match reports, articles etc about their club. Ultimately though it's down to the clubs if they feel a need. For a small club like ours it's been worth every penny and every minute for the help it's given team spirit. Others may feel it's a waste of time - judgement call really.

lol no lets not be dictated to jb!! had enough of boring web site talks, wouldnt really say u were a ringer , just netherton doin there number one duty , people who cant find football netherton do there best to rectify it . u were not gettin it at the lord westwood so tried to help mate,
ur always welcome bak if it dont work out, although now since u left the res are in a cup quater final which we are def going to win . rabbit has many people he can choose from for . yes i write bout myself top band and wherever possible search for a ego boost top band , as much as im a ego freak id like to it was me or jb to maybe boost his but the player i was on about is actuall adam scotcher who came on for a sub for our res when our game was cancelled . score was they were losing 3-1 to lord burley and he scored a 5 min hatrick lol . how unfair lol , apart from i hear they had 2 ucl players playin as well .
I'm pretty sure it was Netherton who managed to get promoted from finishing 3rd. They put in a letter saying they were too good for that division ha ha. League table suggested otherwise.
Better not speak too soon, may need to play that card myself the way Div 2 is shaping up.
Not going to be a pretty game Saturday. 2 footballing teams tring to play on a ploughed field.
eddie i was talking about a few years ago when i played against your sunday res's-i think you played in that game i'm not sure but never mind water under the bridge now eh. spoken to you before if you remember about moving back to one of my previous clubs on sundays but you pointed out the fact that i can't have more than 2 transfers a season on sundays so i'm doing my best to help the limetree finish well.
look forward to the last game of the season against you boys!!
March St. Marys lost 2-0 to Manea today. I genuinely feel that out of all the promotion contenders, Manea have got to be an outside bet. They quite easily could have lost today. They've got some tidy players, but for any team that gets stuck into them, they will buckle ala Griffin Park last week. Much improved from us, we play Warboys twice in 2 weeks so would be nice to get a few more points. After a while out I played the last 10 minutes and manage to come through that unscathed.
On the subject of ringers, talk in the club today was that we've got to replay a match against Emneth Seniors because they played someone who wasn't registered. We won that game, so how is that punishing them? It looks like potentially we will lose out. If that is the case, (maybe I am wrong, Mark can you confirm?) maybe the league needs to look at revising their rules.

It's a bit harsh teilo i know, but you might have to play it again !!
Stupidly we did it last season and the player concerned got a hefty ban and fine and the gane did have to be replayed !!! In this particular case i dont know, but you might have to ?????
We had a cracking game today at the PSL.
Played Woodlands, the only team to beat us this campaign, we eventually won 5-3.
3 nil up at H/T..quite happy with the way things were going.. 2nd half .. we fell asleep, in the 1st 15 mins all credit to Woodland they came right back at us..and scored 2 goals in 5 mins.....GAME ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Eventually we came out on top and somehow i scored 3 ????
God knows how ...
Great game to watch and play in though :clap2:
