Good results for PSL, Whittlesey and Fletton yesterday. Also, well done to hampton who beat deeping which surprised me as are my outside tip for the title!!

PSL were 4-0 up early doors and it was all over from what I heard. Al, bet your pleased with that result but wonder how you will do without the best player in the area once he suspended? :soo:
Alec was not happy at half time by all accounts and rightly so as he/everyone expects them to be strong challengers this year!!

Good result for whittlesey and they will be there or there abouts!! Impressed me pre season against PNS.

one player doesn't make the team foggy you should know that, we didn't get jamie last season until end of oct and did fine without him.

anton sgori had a good game again, so is a good replacement for ben, quinney will slot into cen mid for bellamy and osker on the wing, so we will be fine. only game to worry about is fletton when jamie, ben, brett, duffy, and dwayne are all out. but i have signed other players and have a top reserve side, so we shall still be a good unit.

i m well happy with the win and the game was over by halftime, its a shame we had such a poor ref, i don't know if it were an off day for him as i ve never seen him before, but i feel that his failure to get his cards out early in the 2nd half allowed disgraceful tackling to go on, all started by skirrit, horrible tackles on thomas, bellamy and rankin, which started to p1ss me and my players off as the ref failed to do anything about it. then came the shocking tackle on tyler, but im sorry to say it was coming, it was just a shame it were tyler ans not skirrit as for me tyler was by far the best perkins player on the pitch. jason bannie came over and tried to calm things down only for the ref to send him off for shoving, REAL SHOCKER, then came yet another shocker from skirrit AGAIN, this time after yet another push and shove match and he got a yellow.

then bellamy got accused of spitting on nipper, which i didnt see, i lost my rag with him in the changing room after the game only to find out after talking to several psl and perkins players (including nipper) that this never happened, my lads know how i feel about an act like this and if a psl player ever done this it would be the last time they ever played for me.

overal a good win , but for me with zero enjoyment factor, its games like this that makes you wish you were somewhere else instead.

i offen have a few pints with skirrit in the westwood and get on fine with him, but he will defo cause alot more upset for perkins if playing again for them. the stuff he did was well out of order.

Did not mean it like that just that he seems back to his best (like days of old) and feel you will really miss him??

Good to hear about you thinking Tyler best player because when he fit and attitude right he is a top defender - far better than any others in Perkins set up - just my opinion!! Have not spoken to Alec or any other players but I heard tackling was a bit naughty and see Bannie this morning who can not believe he got sent off!!

Who you got midweek? Perkins vs whittlesey which will be a good one!!

any team at this level would miss a player like jamie, and he can't be replace with an equal thats for sure, but his replacement is a top prem striker too and is well able to keep us in the hunt.

think if perkins start with tyler at the back they can beat whittlesey but a draw will do thanks

our game saturday was over by halftime and tyler then came on and did his job well in the back line. for me that was the only decent thing that happened in the 2nd half.

think danny needs some calming pills, if he put as much effort into scoring instead of moaning it would make him a better player.

i feel for jason and intend to stand as witness at his hearing, its real bad when a player try's to calm things down and ends up sent off.

the ref had a bad day thats all, but he wasn't at fault for any of our goals. we have all had a bad day before im sure.

chris kaye was wasted as a full back, players like chris need to be in the thick of it in the middle of the park.

Alconbury wednesday night.

Al i agree with most of what you said and the referee was to blame for all the petiness that happened in the 2nd half. Shaun was very lucky to stay on the field after that tackle and he has been told that it is totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated by myself or the club. He was very remorsefull after the game which was a positive but still dosen't make it right hopefully he will learn from this. As for the bret incident i'm not going to change my view on this i know what i saw as did numerous other people both watching and playing, i think the denial from him was more from your reaction to him than innocence. As for nipper saying he didn't see it he wouldn't of he had his back to him! Jasons sending off was unbelievable and we will fight it all the way and thank you for your support on that. The game its self was over with after 2 goals in 5 mins due to mistakes at the back followed by 2 more within half hour and with the quality you have we cant let this happen. you were good for the win and with the strength in numbers you have will be pushing all the way again this season. As for us we need to regroup quickly for weds and get back on track we still have 87 points to play for and barring a faultless season by some one will not be out of it following 1 defeat on the first day of the season

I agree I watched the PSL v Perkins match and as much as I hate to say it Tyler was by far the best Perkins player, he is looking alot slimmer and fitter and is starting to look like the Tyler of old. Again I hate to agree with Foggy but Jamie is looking very sharp and missing him will be a big blow for PSL, but with their squad I can see them retaining the league tittle!!

I watched the Oundle v Fletton game and have to say the 1st half was one of the worst displays (from Oundle) that I've seen in local football in many a year... bear in mind I've actually watched Fenland Police play on a Sunday morning
7-0 they were losing when the ref put them out of their misery and blew for HT - if it had gone on another 10 mins it would have been double figures, the goals were raining in!

Not sure what was said/done at HT but they managed to win the 2nd half 2-1 albeit with Fletton obviously taking their foot of the gas!

My old man watched the Crowland Vs Fletton game last night and commented that it was an entertaining, fairly even game with Fletton coming out on top eventually, 2-1 winners.

For those unaware of the other results, Deeping beat Stamford Bels 5-1 and Moulton won the Lincolnshire derby against Pinchbeck 2-0

Deeping Sports did infact look very impressive at times. Two up inside four minutes they went onto convert this great start into a very impressive first win. They may not win it but like Hampton last term they will upset many top flight teams. Could be a good bet for the PFA Senior Cup though.

Watched the Crowland v Fletton game and after ten minutes thought it would be a cricket score when Fletton took the lead but fair play to Crowland they weathered the storm and had a great twenty minute spell before half time and should have scored a couple.
Second half mirrored the first, Fletton came straight out and should have had at least two more and put the game to bed and when they actually scored their second goal to go 2 up that should have been it.
Again Crowland came back at them and could have had another couple before scoring a penalty and making a great finish of the game.

Thoroughly enjoyed watching a cracking end to end game that could have finished 8-8 and Crowland will be a hard place to go and get a result on their heavy pitch, I thought Mr Flynn reffed the game well despite plenty of barricking from the touchline and the pitch but can't see him putting up with too much of that for a whole season. It's not very often I stand and watch (or sit) a game for 90 minutes these days and can't take my eye off it but last night was spot on.
Hoping to see Whittlesey v Perkins tonight or Alconbury v PSL, depends on the weather!!

Looks like it's shaping up to be a tight year, with the 'top' teams taking points off each other already. Whittlesey beat Moulton, Perkins beat Whittlesey, PSL beat Perkins.
Great result for Perkins last night and a feast of goals at Alconbury.
Only 3 100% records left at this early stage and one of those will definitely fall on Saturday when we play Fletton

wow some awesome scores there.
regardless of the score PSL continue to win - carried on where they left off.
Perkins turned things around from the weekend with a victory over "always up there" Whittlesey

Hampton in winning ways just like the start of last season

Oundle cementing an early place at the bottom

and Fletton always scoring.

I'm fine mate thank you, miss the banter but thats about it! I think your pitch is a great setting and the changing rooms are fine it's just the bloody drainage that's the problem

Although im sure its got memories tho hey hyypia just like, urmmm lets see - the best goal you'll probably ever score (on your left foot)

Oh, the memories. I'm sure you remember it well Harbs, seeing as though it gave you a grade nought skin-head  I think you're probably right tho, it was the best goal i'll ever score (and i am left footed so it definitely won't be beaten with my right!)

Might have a good go on Pro Evo tho!

I thought our pitch would be great for drainage 'cos it's on a raised bit of ground, but the soil appears to be clay so holds all the water. We go from one extreme to the other. Rock hard - water logged. Can't have everything tho, like you say good setting, great atmosphere and good changing rooms

Alconbury 5 Psl 6 Was a great game from an attacking perspective but the defending from the two teams was poor and really clumsy at times (as the scoreline shows). Some fantastic goals though and it just goes to show why psl are champions able to edge a result and capitalise on mistakes even in such an open a game - all credit to them.

From an Alconbury point of view very promising new signings and a massive step forward from the Jack Hogg game just need some defenders on board!

if you score 6 goals and win thats all the counts really,

our keeper was dreadful last night and add to that, dreadful showings from joe duffy, anton sgroi, midfield was shuffled about due to unavailable players, missed the work rate of athony thomas,.

worst player on the pitch? brett bellamy who got subbed! shocking from him.

but with dwayne and jamie(2) up from and support from brads and quinney (2), we always looked like getting another goal even when alconbury came from behind each time to level the game. 10 goals in 2 games aint bad.

there is no way our defence and centre midfield (not you gareth, you had a blinder) could ever play that bad again this season.

sorry roger you saying we were poor because you didnt let us play is way of the mark, we scored 6 mate, it was constant errors that gave you most of your goals.

2 great goals scored, darren palings volley and jamie grahams beating 4 players and the keeper to tuck home. 2 of the best you will ever see.
3 PTS THANKS

Fair play Al, but you should be a bit concerned that you had to score six to put away a side you destroyed two week previously. Lets face it mate there are plenty of sides in the top flight that you could ill afford to concede five to. Good entertainment value though!

usally when a team hammers another when the next time they meet something happens, (like they get beat) so im happy enough with a narrow win and 3 pts.

we always looked like scoring goals harbs so at 5-5 with 20 mins to go always fancied us to get more. so never at anytime did i worry.

in the last few seasons we always draw our midweek games so any win is a plus .

scoring home team 1st: 0-1, 1-1,1-2,1-3,2-3,3-3,3-5,5-5,5-6 so were never behind like we were in the jack hogg
