Chatteris v Ketton - home win - expect Chatteris to be strong this season

Emneth v Thorney - not saying but we've had a very mixed pre-season and don't play well v Emneth (Griffin Park)

Long Sutton v Kings Cliffe - home win

Rutland v Ramsey - whilst I would expect a much stronger Ramsey this season I fancy Rutland to be there or thereabouts - home win

Sutton Bridge v Bretton PR - lots of talk about Bretton and who's gone but would still expect them to have too much for bridge - away win

Werrington v Gedney Hill - both teams will be looking for big improvements - draw

Come on you Orange

Looking forward to this season, should be good for us to play better teams week in week out!!

Thorney Boy, your team changed much since the last time we played you? Looking forward to renewing the local rivarly between yourselves and us!! Also with Guyhirn too, should be fun!!

Plenty of banter too!!! And the odd  too

dave

Bulk of the squad remains the same. Main problem has been that as our youngsters have become young adults thay have picked up increasing family and work committments. Of the core 16 of two seasons ago only two have moved on but 3 more don't play for one or both of the afore-mentioned reasons.
No disrespect to anyone else in Div 2 but we were delighted with Coates and Guyhirn coming up as we have always enjoyed our battles with both and I think it's fair to say we are all clubs run in the same vein.

Think you boys will enjoy Division 1 - a good standard of game every week. It'll be tougher but I don't see you having any problems bettering what we did last season(7th). Certainly our biggest problem was (and still is) strength in depth and playing the likes of Bretton / Rutland when you are not at full strength is a problem.

Should be a great season.

Coates will be difficult to beat this year and i fancy them as my outsiders to do realy well this season.

i think you could be right tommy, there young and very hungry for success. they will do very well at home but i think that little lack of experiance might cost them in some games

they like to attack when sometimes its best to shut up shop

I agree with Tommy - Coates are definitely wild cards for the top 5 - they will particularly surprise some of those teams that don't know them and if they get a bit of momentum - who knows.

it should be a close game this weekend. we were 2-0 up on saturday but then the defence decided to crumble.

we should have a full strength squad this weekend . castor know we are good going forward. and hopefully it will be a good game of football.

i think it will be alot closer than the friendly we had with them a few weeks ago.

thats a bit more level headed and conservative sparky! did it hurt getting brought down to earth with such a bump?!

bratts
20-08-2007, 07:58
Sparky, i think castor may just be a bit to strong for you guys!! I do hope your club start to go in the direction that everyone there wants it to go!! But these things take time and it seems to me that you are trying to run before you can walk. Good luck tho!!

Lack of experience at Coates !!!! You must be joking. With Garry playing at the back he'll make sure they don't concede many. A well run outfit who have played together for years. They'll do well.

i still think i personally will have a good season. and i will score lots of goals.

i don't doubt that at all. i think real march will have a very good season. maybe i was a little ambitious about going up this season. but 5th or 6th place isn't unrealistic.

it's a tough league. I just thinks its alit harsh people laughing at our club which is trying to make the game more serious, with box nets / trainging tops/ etc. it's better than turning up and playing then just going down the pub. it brings unity to the players.

the club is alot different than last year.

give us a chance!

(if you could give me 3 or 4 chances on saturday castor that would be great.lol)

i think its great having the ambition, at the jubilee were lucky if we have a full kit and even more lucky if its clean
