is it me or does there seem to be a total lack off interest in playing football this season.
everybody seems to be more concerned about who's going were and if he goes there then i will, or there paying this much & you get this. Maybe im being funny but what happened to playing football with your mates and having a laugh.

When i used to manage Newham Athletic we had probebly the best young team ever to win nothing (what a crime) but we had some great laughs before & after the game & everyone involved wishes it never ended. but now people say the want to play then go sign for someone else?

Maybe they were just badly managed.

Why did it end if it was all such a great laugh ? Maybe you have to be able to enjoy your football but also have some success.

In my very limited experience there are very few people who genuinly will turn up just for a game with the lads. You find this out when you make them sub. Those that are there because they love it tend to be the non playing managers or even worse the guy who runs the line every week.

:blh: I am 40 next month and still playing in the prem. When i started playing every sat was football everything else was arranged around sat.I always washed my boots sat night ready for next game. Now you have young lads who make any excuse not to play, turn up late, skip training, boots filthy,i could go on but maybe i am just old school :ang:

So what you are saying is times and people/attitudes have changed.

Maybe you are right, send the little bar stewards off to the army, bring back conscription.

Playing with mates does still matter in football now adays, you only have to look at the likes of Coates and Whittlesey for a start most of the players play because its with there mates. Then there is Mr Baines who has left UCL to play with his mates at Stilton this season.
As for players more interested in drinking nowadays think that has always been there and always will be take George Best for example (god rest his sole). Stiil think young people want to play but reasonfor lack of interest is due to fact that nowadays people need to work weekends so they have money t pay the bills etc!!

Think its down to the manager, if he lays down the law and you know he is boss you dont get on the wrong side of him. :scr: I can remember using embrocation oil ,is it still for sale ?
