JNE - you may be right mate, just something a mate told me last week and he's been known to get his own name wrong at times!!!

yeah the weather is shocking - Bushfields usually isnt too bad though and I hear its due to clear up a bit late evening through to mid afternoon Sat?

Foggy is my old mate Dwaine still in charge of Bretton Park Rangers res ?If so do you know who is playing for him ? Had a few of his mates playing for Nags in our last season, they were half decent and good reliable lads. Had some good laughs with Dwaine, never saw him as management material, had a lot of trouble getting out of bed, but I believe he did exceptionally well last season just goes to show how much I know

Forgot to mention, perhaps you should not take so much notice of what your mates tell you B.O.T.N., that's not the first time you've been fed duff information and then posted it on this site. :stpd:

hahaha - I think we all listen to rumour etc and then discuss it on here at some point Mick, at least it gives us something to laugh over when it's proved wrong...

Our lads turned bretton park Res over 5-0 Saturday, I'm sure Dwaine will say he was resting lads for their 1st team etc,
but from the off there was only 1 team in it, massive gap in quality from their Res to their 1st's from what we saw.

Any other results from the weekend friendlies? how did B/Park 1st's get on?

We lost 4-2 to Perkins it wasent a bad game as we played some good football in spells but we had several players not avalible due to work, injuries or Personal reasons. But a couple more good signings this week so confident it will be a good season just need another Defender and were almost there.

did you have any of your reserves helping out after they'd played us? I know Dwaine was talking as if that may be the case!

Any other Sunday sides out there play this weekend?

Went to watch the jube and looked ok at perkins. As Combat said they need a couple of defenders and Ja needs to start sorting his team out ready for the season but looking ok for the year - whether they go up, ho knows. :soo:

As for reserves -good win for emap but I know Duane had a few missing but you can only beat what's put in front of you!!

hello mate...
We also had 3 or 4 missing for our 1st run out, but like you said you can only beat what's put in front of you.

I'm sure we play your Sunday team on the 19th so that will be our toughest pre-season game and a better gauge as to where we're at etc..
Food laid on afterwards at The Gordon Arms - our new home pub after leaving Chequers (miserable lot they are hahaha)

Well done EMAP. Good result for you at the weekend against a young side that has high hopes for this year. Like you say I think the 19th may be a touch tougher for you. I hope !!!!!! Mick, Dwaine has quite a young side for this season with a few of his mates from the Newham days (seems like a lifetime ago!!!). Trying to bring a few of the Glinton under 18s through to start them playing mens football. Dwaine does alright but he's no managerial legend like yourself. :nwy:

Cheers Big S, Some of Dwaines lads looked ok and will do well from what we saw, but their defending was really poor at times, heads dropped and they argued, lost shape etc... Dwaine in goal didnt help by continually moaning at them when they needed lifting and advice on how to correct errors etc...
If he can get the back 4 sorted and get em playing in a line and as a unit they'd be a real tough team to beat - just our thoughts after the game.

We're looking forward to the 19th and we've no doubt it'll be a real tough one for us, as you'll be the highest ranked team we've faced since playing Crowland in a friendly about 3 years ago (we lost that 6-2 or something I think).

If anyone's interested - here's the EMAP pre-season schedule!
We face a works team this Sunday at Bushfield 10am
Eye res Sat 4th, 2pm Bushfields
West Town Sunday 12th, 10am Longthorpe Green
JNE Sunday 19th, 10am Bushfields
JNE 5 a-side tournament Sunday 26th Aug (2 teams entered!)

Many thanks for supporting the Jubilee 5 a side comp BOTN. I'm sure your lads will really enjoy what is becoming the best 5 a side comp in the area. Only a few places left !!!!!!!!
