View Full Version : Friendlies ANYONE !
OK I see most people have a few friendlies booked up. We (Coates 1st & Res) are available and are looking for some more games.
Our pitch situation is rubbish. So if anyone can give us a game on a Weds, Thurs or Sunday. Let us know.
How about playing us (Eye Sports) at ours August 9th. 6.30 kick off?
Cheers, we are there Gino. Much appreciated.
sorry buddy. can we make it the 8th at ours. You sort the ref?

Despite what they say on here bout you being a 'superstar'...............you won't be missed mate!!!
Should be a good test for us as i am sure Gino is building a strong team ready for next season!

:bst: haha im laughing at the big dave moore bit!
coates have ritchie slack and he has White boots! look out craigoo!
You should try and make it then i can rate all your players from 1-10 and say who your teams real best player is.
Really, based on what ? Rumour ? Certainly not a spectator cus we only have 2. :soo:
We don't have anyone less than a seven. :mnn:
i will be on the bench for eye so will have plenty of time to get my pen and pad out then make a real accusation.
you spelt above wrong by the way! :bst:
Amusingly subtle.
So which heading do you fall under ? Has been, pot hunter, just want to play with my mates, busted out of last years team, won't play for reserves. All of the above. :blh:
I hear it's quite a squad gathering at Eye, maybe you are lucky to even be on the bench.

I love the banter!
Honestly Harbs,we couldn't care less if you rated us all -3!!
Us at Coates know what we've achieved, promotion to division 1 with basically the same squad we had 3 year ago!
As mentioned before,Eye are definitely gathering a quality squad,it will undoubtedly be a tough game for us!!
i would just like to refer you to a earlier post to which comments were made and you all gracefully rose to with your thats all hear say and opinion... now think about what you are saying about eye.
i went training on Tuesday and i knew 3 people 1 of which is 16 years old the other is almost a cripple and the other has been out of football for 2-3 years! the rest of the squad seem to be a determined bunch that were there last season.
crofty why would i rate you all -3 i heard you are all at least the 4+ - 5+ mark :P
i am at eye pot hunting of course :soo:
Also CAFC crew take a look at General - fantasy football and enter a team
It was a strange set up at Eye last season from what I could see. The first team had 3 or 4 pretty good players and a heap of tryers (no dis respect intended). I'm sure there was atleast 4 players who were playing for the ressies who I would have thought were good enough for the firsts. It's a tough one when you get the us and them thing going.
So few new players and you can only make the bench !
Harbs, sorry I don't know anything about football. :soo:
i obviously thought i was better than i am :bby:
i dont know much about eye but with any team one thing i do know is dont worry about any team pre season take note when once some points are totting up!
stop being a clown and put a team together.
wioll help keep the banter alive thru the season.
Well I don't see much change from last season Harbs, still keeping that bench seat warm. After my lads wedding am going to try and come and watch you Harbs. I would never call you a pot hunter, not on Saturdays anyway!!!! It's about time you played to your full potential young man, I think it was three seasons ago when Perkins played Whittlesey at the end of the season and you absolutely ran the midfield, you were outstanding but unfortunately you didn't seem to be able to recapture that form again, stop worrying about all the Soccer A.M. tricks and get back to basics, when played properly football is a simple and beautiful game, you don't need all the "Megs" "Keepy Uppies" and "Silly Stepovers" Leave them to the over rated overpaid, diving cheating prim donnas in the professional game. :blh:
hey Mick, hope you have a good time at the wedding.
think your missing something here its normally me that gets megged not the other way around and the game you are refering to is the last time i remember playing well so spot on there. had a lot of opportunities kocking at tht point and wish i knew where i went wrong?!
just going to enjoy this season and see if i can play a full season without injury and poor excuses for playing bad!
i think poor choice in footwear on the pitch could be a major factor harbs
yeah thats the first time i have ever had the balls to answer someone back and that will probably be the last not the smartest excuse was it :D

 love the banter
i give every coates player a *1010* for the performance at garys last sat night! not a bad  session that!
however on the pitch
craigooo 2 and a half
egg 2 and a bit less
ritchie 9
:bst:
who cares!!!!!!!!!!!
How the worm turns eh Harbs !!!! Was'nt it only last season you were saying about players dropping leagues on Sundays and playing at a certain standard !!!! Fair play to you for admitting it though. I'm sure you'll have a great crack out there with Gino and the boys.
Last season i was defending a team that has stuck with the same squad for at least 5 years and they were getting slated for bringing in 3-4 players after myself and 3 others left for personal reasons.
I signed for eye because im not up to standard for the prem and finished last season at Perkins reserves which i enjoyed.
i dont feel i would be much cop in the prem this season either and when Gino asked me to sign i thought it would be a good laugh trophies and awards etc etc never crossed my mind and the club does have ambition to make the prem.
it would be good to be a part of that. but a lot can happen during a season.
im not at all bothered what people think when it comes to glory hunting and all that cr4p i just want to enjoy my football a bit like i did when i was with the jubilee lads last season but im sure that comment will open up its own can of worms!

Harbs, firstly, thanks for helping us out at the end of last season. If only you had said you could take a penalty, well, we all know the answer to that!!!
I have to say that i believe that the peterborough premier league will be worse off without you. You are wrong to say that you are not good enough to play at that standard. With belief, you can become one of the most respected players in your position in that league.
That is taking nothing away from me mate Gino, who looks to be puuting together a very good side for next season (i will find out on Saturday, with a weakened team!!!) and i wish you all the very best for the forthcoming season.
As all players will do, harbs, you will do what you think is right for you, but please do not have any negative thoughts about your talent, YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO PLAY IN THE PREM, NOT JUST FOR THIS YEAR, BUT FOR MANY MORE YEARS TO COME.
Take care, and i'll probably see you on Saturday!
Hey Kenny, thanks for your comment.
i understand what you are saying, im not saying i hae never been good enough but last season i felt i was a dissapoint... i was injured a lot (first season since i was 7 i think that i have ever missed games thru injury and struggled to get back to a decent fitness level.
just didnt enjoy it and in no way is that disrespecting Perkins i had a great time at the club but football wise felt out my depth. i hope its a temp thing.
i will see you saturday.
I've got to agree with Buddabelly Harbs. You really should think more positively about your ability. As part of the backroom boys at the Jube last year I can honestly say I was impressed when I saw you play. Like you say though enjoying your football has to be the most important thing at the end of the day and if thats with Gino and the lads at Eye then good luck to you mate.
cheers buddy, im guessing your staying with the jube this season?
if so all the best mate i had a great time and seeing you propped up against a post in the oak will be a memory i wont forget

Harbs you are a top player and your def good enough to play in the Prem still, Im sure you will have a good year both Sat & Sun!!
harbs you seem a little confused to me. you wasn't dropped to the reserves last season you were asked to help them out for a couple of games as they were short of a couple of players. i said to you at the time if it was problem then you could stay with the 1st team and start. i also remember telling you that you were very much part of my plans for the coming season. I am still disappointed not to have you with us but thats your choice and if you get told enough times that theres a "clik" your gonna start believing it...! I wish you all the best for this season but cant help thinking your choice wasn't your own
:soo:
dont read too much into that alex, i know i wasn't dropped.
and i was more than happy o help the reserves out. i just felt i hadnt performed well enough or kept myself fit enough to maintain a place in the first team squad.
y choice is 100% my own no one has persuaded me to play for another team simply offered the place and i want to give it a go.
will see hw things go.
finally played a game against against perkins reserves on saturday and looking forwards to getting my fitness up and seeing if i can keep it there.
Shall i take that as a passing dig Alex?
Harbs is a big boy and can make his own mind up.
come on ladies put the verbal handbags away :batr:
You are both top guys and each have a set of friends that are good enough to play for perkins. Harbs is both good enough and also big enough to make his own decisions and so he should have no compliants.
I played for you both and found you top people to deal with when I decided not to play and the difficulties I had had you both understood.
As I said before without both of you I could not be playing now as you both encouraged me through the hardest training i had ever done after my surgery!!
As for the "click"!? There arer clicks in all clubs and perkins was no different!! Maybe they suffered as a team maybe not? but neither could fault both your effort or commitment!!
Have a good season the both of you!!
Ha ha. Nice shout Gino !!!!!!!! You need to look out Harbs. By the sound of it the revolution at Racing might be looking for you to sign. Saying that Combat heard someone was signing a cheque at the weekend and he told Tyler to try and get in first !!!!!!
this is going to be all about fun for me this season mate. i took the plunge and signed for racing purely because i have a lot more friends there that i hang out with fairly regular and if its anything like jube was last season im really looking forwards to it. on the other hand i do have concerns 2 games at the weekend is going to be too much and Saturdays would be my priority so again we will see how everything starts. hope to have a good knee's up during the jube vs 252 games.
You know just how welcoming we can be at the Jube Harbs !!!!!
Traitor Hards!! You will need more than good knees when we kick you!!
Will miss you mate, especially beating you at pool on a sunday :mnn:
2 games in 2 days is hard and we not getting any younger. Here Shakie has made a couple of good signings and so looking as strong if not stronger than last year. Just need boy blunder to sign (as he is now known)!!
c'mon buddy there's no way the squad can be better than last year.
but at least Bainsy might get a spot in the middle this season so he dont have to sulk.
i can imagine it will be quite competetive when we meet but hey by then we may only be mid table... new team and all taht
When you ladies have finished your little Harbs love in
Anyone else fancy a friendly we could do with a couple more.
dont change the subject, Foggys lot wil probably take you up on the offer mind. he could do with a game.

We will play you on the 28th if you like?
Sorry both got league games on the 25th.
I'm sure at the AGM it was stated that the Prem would start on the 18th. They really might as well say that everyone starts on the 18th as most are.
The league officially starts for everyone on the 18th August 2007. There are a number of reasons why not every team has a fixture. The two biggest being ground and team availability.
A number of teams have indicated that they are not available till either the 25th of August or 1st September due to players being away etc.
Also a lot of grounds are not available until September due to either the council or cricket.
If your a club thats indicated you can't play a fixture on the first few weeks of the season for any of these reasons, and your then playing friendlys, I wouldnt want to be in your shoes when Lawrence finds out!

I was surprised to see that we along with most of DIV 1 do not KO until Sept 1st,
We have indicated that we have players unavailable on the 18th. Doesn't seem to have made a difference, maybe we did not comply with a rule somewhere.

Didn't get to speak to Seamus or Philly yesterday but I do know that we have been looking for a game for our PNS reserve side this Saturday if anyone is interested?
I hope when you mention trying to lure players from a certain club you don't mean from Netherton Eddie as it seems you guys haven't been too shy with the 7 day approaches already !!!!!!!

08-08-2007, 09:27
we did it as a statement on the proper official conduct of how to make approaches , maybe in future lureing they may be done through these means.
ur either netherton or ur not netherton . we dont need to approach , people come to us . fact .
i do hope ur future luring may be more succssesful .
good luck 4 the season .

Come on Eddie - you mean to say that not 1 single person from within the Netherton teams or set-up have ever approached a player to come and play for any of the Netherton teams - they ALL come to you?
Mate we're all behind the set up there and I for one would love to build something half as good but you lot aint Man United
I'd be willing to wager that at some point over the last errrr say 3 seasons, that 'somebody' from within the Netherton team/s or set-up have talked to another player about them joing you lads???
good luck for the season ahead by the way mate!
So it would seem that the 8th at Eye was a no goer. Shame we weren't told. :soo:

blimey BOTN u take everythin to heart ..... its all about the banter .not accusin anythin, its banter . lets see a smile :sm: . although im not banterin u when i say hamad loves netherton n not emap !
lol yr willin to wager on the most open statement i have ever heard ..... i bet somewhere in the last 3 years someone has spoken to someone lol . see if they take that bet down the bookies.
the jube boys all know its banter , we dont really care if they speak to our players as if they are netherton then they wont be goin anywhere . just as its prob the same 4 the jube . although now theres a slight split in the ranks with tyler n his new team so loyalties r bein slightly split.

Eddie... my reply was a light hearted one mate.. everyone knows you're not Man U and of course it was a wager that's open ended, I used to be a bookie so hardly gonna offer you a winner am I
I'm sure Hamad loves netherton but it was EMAP that he finished up playing at I think :soo:
