With Moulton and PSL battling it out to be champions, here's my predictions for both side's remaining games.

Moulton Harrox

Wimblington v Moulton - Away win
Moulton v Uppingham - Home Win
Moulton v PSL - Draw
Whittlesey v Moulton - Away Win

PSL

PSL v Perkins - Home Win
PSL v Pinchbeck - Hard earned home win
Fletton v PSL - Draw
PSL v Moulton - Draw
Uppingham v PSL - Away win
Leverington v PSL - Away win

Moulton to win title by 3 points.

What does everyone else think?

Game On

Are Moulton going to throw it all away again? They have lost 2-0 away at Wimblington this afternoon. This means that they will more than lickly need to win their remaining three games to prevent Peterborough Sports from grabbing the title from them. The two sides meet in a fortnight.

well i hope the rest of your predictions end up correct pufc, as we would then win it on goal differences. but moulton could win it if they were to score 13 clear goals in 2 games.

Pressure is on Moulton. They have to win it now themselves by winnin g all remaining games no one else can help them IMO except maybe Fletton

Moulton not bottling it again are they?

Feel Fletton will have the biggest say as believe there game versus PSL could be the title decider. PSL to strong for moulton and fancy them to beat them but fletton could throw a spanner in the works. Saying that cannot see moulton winning anything the way they playing!!

Why do all neutrals take such glee from Moulton losing?

Don't think we are bottling anything. last time we almost won the league when we lost out by one point to Whittlesey, we won our last 15 league games on the trot, that's not really bottling it is it!!, perhaps it was just that Whittlesey had a great season.

This season we have won approx 17/18 games in a row, winning a total of 23 out of 27, normally this would be more than good enough to win the league. So again perhaps it is that Sports are having a fantastic season, in reality they've never been far behind us as we felt they were always going to win their games in hand.

Saturday we had enough chances to win 3 games, but unfortunately couldn't take any, we played some good stuff but if you don't take your chances you get nothing, which is what we got.

It's a tall order now but we'll give it our best shot and see what unfolds

come on No 3 or should I say Darren?? :soo:

You've always been there or there abouts but never seem to get over the winning line!! You have some players in your side now that have won it, grovesy and gav from my old club ortonians but still you have the old moulton habit of losing when it matters!!

Is tough for you now and I know the PSL boys are well up for it and although they won the Northants cup the league is the one they want as they know then they will be called THE best team!!

Fair point foggy , we'll just have to keep going and hope we can turn things around, still in with an outside chance.

i want to see moulton beat but not with glee numba 3, meant what i said about you boys winning it if we couldn't. nothing has changed you have to win all 3 remaining games to win the title just as we have to make sure we beat you. the fletton game does not come into play anymore as if we do lose to them and win the rest of our games we will still win the league.

your club is a credit to the fenland area (in which i live) and this makes for an exciting run in.

hope to see you boys at fletton midweek and a few beers after yeah?

I'm sure there will be a few come over to watch your game with Fletton, but like you say the real decider now is definitely our game on the 21st, should make for a cracking finish to the season.

I would expect you to enjoy it if we lose at this stage as you have a genuine interest, but you don't come on here saying that we've blown it again etc etc.

I was just trying to say that yeah we've lost a couple of games recently but it's not just this fact that makes the league close, but the fact that you are having a great season, consistently winning week upon week as well.

As always in the league the team ending up top whether its you or us, will fully deserve it.

Al you said earlier in the season that you wanted some of that Ortonians spirit - judging by PSL's drinking effort on Saturday after the Perkins game you have already achieved it! - Atty was moaning at 5.15 about the club being empty - mind you it stops him moaning about being sub I suppose.

Thought PSL had that little bit of extra quality where it mattered Saturday and whilst the Perkins midfield 4 all had good games against the PSL 5 in the 2 other areas they were 2nd best.

Whilst the game between the 2 sides is naturally huge for you both, it might be those other games involving Fletton, Uppingham, Whittlesey & Leverington that are just as key?

It's good for the League that for the 4th year running it is going pretty much down to the wire.

well i had to get ofF str8 after the game sat tommy, and you know what they say an army is no good without their leader so maybe thats why they all went home early.

spec we do want to beat you, but if we lose we can still win the league by winning our remaining games, thats if we beat pinchbeck this sat.

we feel hard done by the 2 losses and 2 draws this season same as you moulton lads did by the defeat at wimb ob's.

lost to whittlesey 2-1 after being 1 nil up and getting a player sent off because of a reffing error which also saw them getting awarded a penalty.

lost to alconbury 1 nil but did enough to beat them three times over but again feel cheated ( know what i mean roy?).

drew with bels 2nd game of the season after billy rev got sent off after 5 mins (fool).

drew with hampton in a force 10 gale, again some bad calls.

BUT THATS FOOTBALL. AND TO WIN ANYTHING YOU NEED THAT BIT OF LUCK TOO. IT OFTEN HAPPENS THAT THE BEST SIDE ON THE DAY LOSE (right long sutton) !!!

You're dead right Tommy our game at home with Uppingham on saturday is the only one we're focusing on at the moment.

The important thing is that no matter what is said on this site - the mentality is right before each game. - All credit to Tom, Al & Pat for the way the team is prepared.
There is no reason that this will not change for each of the forthcoming games - It would seem at the moment that Sports can handle the pressure when required.
will still approach on a game by game basis with a slight possibility of Ben & Growler back for selection.

thought last nights game was poor, 2-2 at half time with some shocking defending and goal keeping. the reffing was well below the required standard, but at least it was consistant errors that affected both teams and didn't favour any.

but in the end i thought that we just about edged it with chances. at the very least we deserved a draw and would have been happy with that also.

it was nice to see that every man and his dog turned out from moulton to watch. was glad about that as it would have been a small crowd if they hadn't.

see you sat numba 3.

Thank you Brian and I fully agree with you mate, couldn't have asked for anymore from them and the game plan went to perfection, poor finishing with good chances first half cost us dear and horrible deflections for your first two goals is the luck you get when your name is on the championship trophy which I think it now is.

I just wanted to give a good account of ourselves with so many players missing and we more than did that, I can honestly say I have not enjoyed a game like that as much as I did last night all season, ran a very dangerous side very close. I have even thought about missing our game Saturday to come and watch yours which will be an absolute cracker but I can't do that!!

Think you are being a bit hard on yourselves Al - it was certainly a better game than the Perkins one. (by the way - luv your standing to attention sidways on stance when awarding a disputable goal kick!)

For the first 60 minutes it could have gone either way and Fletton were certainly up for it - I think they put so much in to that first hour they found it hard to pick themselves up again after falling behind.

Missed the last 8 minutes as it got too cold!

Surprised really to see so many Moulton lads there when the maths for them was always going to be simple - win your last 2 games and you are champions, no matter what happens to PSL.

Probably have to give PSL the edge now, given Moulton's propensity over the years to prefer softer going - however given my current punting record that means it is in the bag for Moulton!

suppose that makes me a cheat then? and what a change it made to the out come of the game!

i gave nothing as mr Mutton was only 5 ft from it and he gave a goal kick not me so it was his call not mine, i saw him over rule a few throw in's so why not this one then?( the one which i didnt give!!!) if everyone saw it as a corner why did he go for a goalkick?

feck me anyone would have thought that i had flagged a goal as offside when it was clearly onside on something.

really its the old club lino thing again and i'm a fecking cheating basket!!!

I was there Al and having done the job myself I feel qualified on judging your performance. I thought you did very well as far as I could tell you got almost verything right, as did the other lino nobody gets it 100% but you got close. One constructive critiscism though, try not to get involved, I now its difficult when players call you names but after a while you get used to it, I used to just smile at them, it really wound them up.As for the game I thought it could have gone either way both teams were guilty of poor defending but both teams put in the effort, never known both Spec and Tommy to be so quiet.

i give anything a go win or lose. its a pride thing with me mucker.

p.s mick, what did you think to the bird behind me in the 2nd half when she called me a cheat? i think i handled that in the right way yeah???

it still aint over and if both moulton and psl get 3 pts each again nx weekend then it will still come down to the very last game of the season yet again.

PSL play Leverington away.
Moulton play Whittlesey away.

then the following weekend:
PSL are away to Uppingham

proud of the 9 PSL players who finished the game on the pitch for us today, their isn't many teams you would fancy keeping the scores level with 9 v 11 with 30 plus mins still to play against a full strength 11 moulton players. it could have gone either way in the last 5 mins with gareth sanderson missing 2 open goals and bobby patts having his penalty saved by richie roberts.

Just thought it would be interesting to say that even though sports deny a dog going on the pitch in the ET, in the game against Moulton, there was a great picture in Tuesday's paper of the game and you couldn't have guessed, but there was a dog on the pitch! NO hangbags meant by this, but dont lie!

Personally I think it is shame when incidents off the field sometimes overshadow what has happened on the field. Both clubs PSL and Moulton have been superb all season and I have enjoyed reporting on the PDFL site. We must not forget that in my opinion this season has been one of the best seasons in a long time given the success of a lot of local clubs in the county cups and one again the dramatic end to the campaign. No offence to Whittlesey but I hope Moulton win at the Manor at the weekend to set up an exciting last game for Sports and a good, if not nail biting day out for the players, officials and supporters of Moulton. Well done to both clubs and best wishes for the last throws of the campaign

lozzaman, no one said that there was not a dog on the pitch you young fool. and it was not quoted by anyone from PSL in the ET,. 'YES THERE WAS A DOG WHICH RAN ON THE PITCH!!!!!' and it also ran up to the scuffle that was taking place clear enough for you???? so don't talk out of your harris stating the word 'LIES' get it right first sonny eh?
