Don't forget the PFA Senior Cup semi-finals, JNE vs Deeping and Scarletts vs McCains. Going to be at least one Div.1 team in the final. Hope We(Scarletts) can put a full strength team and that we play an awful lot better than we did last time we played McCains. Hope my old buddy Teddy is playing.
Prediction
J.N.E. 3 Deeping 0
Scarletts 2 McCains 1(hopefully) :pty2:

JNE 2-2 Deeping athletic (either side to win on pens) deeping have a cup side that'd be v. strong prem contenders if they played week in week out.

Scarletts ?-? Mccains definately winnable for both teams just depends who turns up and wants it most on the day(hopefully us)

i actually think they'll win 3-1 due to the problems westwood have at the mo so there :face:

obviously the westwood will always be my team and i hope they win i just think they'll struggle this weekend.

I also think Deeping will field a very strong side and win 3-1
Scarletts v McCains ??? Pens, and Scarletts to win it 10-9

10 - 9, that would mean you scored your pen, JB and that Starks scored his !!!!! Don't think it will go to pens and after seeing some of our shooting I hope not. Still think J.N.E. will be too strong for Deeping. Sorry to hear about Westwood's injury problems. Hope everyone concerned makes speedy recoverys.

looks a good weekend all round, personally im only looking at the fitzjohn ingle vs royal mail and a little bit intrested in the mcains semi as we are still involed and want to miss lord burghley in the semis if they get there. as for our game at the moment we will have a strong squad mainly made up of thoose coates superstars only negative is that dean shep is suspended following a sending off for whittlesey. if we are to want to win the league we carnt afford a loss could take a draw but will be all out for the win, like BOTN prediction that we will lose hes played both sides so should be a fair opinion they have drawn and lost. looking foward to game already. strong squad hemps

hello mate..

I reckon you'll give Royal Mail a good game, could go either way to be fair.. Hemps has a good squad but we should have beat em last time as we had 10 men for 80 mins and still drew 2-2, with a better ref we'd have finished them for sure, so you will have chances...
Best of luck.

We have Lord Burghley so will do our best to put them out for you, maybe we can meet in the final??? big ask for us though as they're a team bang in form with some handy players. 2 ex-Blackstone lads and 6 or 7 from Stamford Bels and Uppingham etc.. plus we have 5 lads missing from our Semi win over Werrington last weekend, injuries/work and flaming Rugby!!! should be fun.. they sound like a real decent bunch though so we'll all be sharing a beer after the game -

would be great if you took them out of the cup, yeah see there picture in the et the other week and they do have a strong squad. but on the day who knows. i no our game sunday is going to be massive in a way its youth(me not included)vs experience, dont no there whole squad but did see them play a game earlier in the season and we definatly have nothing to fear. just hope we turn up and play from the start. will be on yellow jersey sun evening to check your result and hopefully see the nxt round draw to find out who we have.

well if you do get a result don't expect Hemps to be too gracious about it, it's not in his nature.. top player but still a lot to learn as a Manager.. the rest of their lads are a decent bunch though..

I hear Burghley have just 2 ex-Blackstone players (older heads) but most of their lads are younger faces from Uppingham and Stamford Bells, I'd say on paper they're favourites then as we were hoping to beat them with fitness, So thats plan A out of the window (right where's the 'remote control football'?)

glad to say BOTN you got our prediction totally wrong as we came from 2-1 down to win the game 7-3 was a good battle but young legs beat old heads, both sides played in a good manner which was good to see makes the league look intresting now. also hear that we have them in the cup semi aswell so will be a battle on both fronts

nice one mate.. I did say that they are beatable and if we had 11 men against em last time we'd have won also.. good result though and certainly makes our league look interesting now!
We got beat by Lord Burghley, too many players out injured and a couple at Twickenham watching the Rugby.. I even had to play the 2nd half which shows how short we were! they were too good for us on the day to be fair although we do feel with a full strength squad they're beatable in the final (PFA on 22nd April).

What a weekend for results then..
Netherton tied at the top of the Prem with JNE and Y Horseshoes could join them and make it 3 teams on 23 points if they beat Blue Boar this Sunday, cracking finish to the season for the nuetrals.

fratelli march on in Div 1

Lord Burghley beat us in the McCains and we meet them in the PFA Final also so they're having a storming season with Brewery Tap pushing them for the league it makes it interesting in Div 2

Div 3 is wide open again after F John beating Royal Mail, anyone of 3 or 4 teams can still win it and we have half our league either in a final or Semi Final of the other cup, so a cracking end of season for all concerned.
Will Royal Mail fall at the final hurdle and finish with nothing with F John Ingle knicking it at the death or even Emap as outsiders? :soo:

JNE
12-03-2007, 16:33
Poor performance from JNE yesterday with the result not reflecting Deepings domination against us!! 2 shots 2 goals, however we have played well before in numerous semis/finals and about time we had some luck like this, well done to Mccains who beat scarletts and see you on the 29th april!!

As for the league, a draw against netherton and then 3 wins will win us the league, even with the oak trying to stop us one way or another!!
So up to us still and can not wait for the netherton game on the 15th April!!

Foggy, whats that about the oak trying to stop you?

could be something to do with the 2 oak boys who played for westwood sunday? yep 2 oak boys in and 6 WW boys out!! duffy, lawrence, osker, horner, bellamy, thackem all injured. ( a good swap i think!!! not!)

westwood are well out of it this season due to one thing or another.

top banter on sunday, deserved win for netherton in the end, did look like nil nil again for most off the game.

i was totally shocked when Ron called westwood lino a cheat!!! ( thought he was a gentleman? lol)

some great songs from the ww boys.

Was Bellamy out injured?? I'd heard he was busy winning a national 5a-side tourney with one of our boys... or did he foget to mention that?

Great finish to the Prem though and us neutrals are loving it...

As for Ron not being a gentleman... come off it, we know he's one of the better behaved guys in local football, some places you have to play at are world war III compared to The Grange and the welcome they provide...

It was all said in banter....

to be fair there were times when it was difficult to concentrate on the game cos of all the chanting! ("da do ron ron ron, was one of my favourites! along with when Roland let the indirect free kick in deliberatly and all the westwood boys were cheering, then realise what had happened and all the netherton boys started cheering!)

Game was played in good spirits, true, westwood had a lot of players out, but then again so did we -J Patten, M Kingston, J Stead, S Carter, I Coupe, I Hair, (not forgetting Smudge, Eddie Seddon) .... and before anyone else gets in there yes I'm fully aware that thats why I got a game

ron is a gent thats the point.

i nearly fainted when he slagged someone off.

it was all good banter. westwoods league season was well over long b4 this game but we still wanted to win it.
