The debate has rumbled on for years and now finally we will have a result once and for all.
After numerous arguements between Randall and Seb over who could produce the best team, we will now have an answer.
A date has been set for mid May, with an early kick off to allow plenty of time for the p**s up afterwards.
Since the announcement of the fixture lots of players have confirmed availability for both sides, and today Gino has kindly offered the facilities of Perkins for the game.
To get the ball rolling I will post the possible Orton squad.
Keepers- From Boz, Richard Roberts, Nick Conroy, Titch, Crowdle.
Outfielders- From Sam K, Allan Y, Beef, Chewy, Pat Dooner, Matt Ferris, Sammy Mac, Adam Dare, Danny Clifton, Ron Leishman, Ian Brads, Ryan Francis, Chris Brown, Jordan Hayes, Chris Garwell, Samir (Smudge) Balti,Jamie Graham, Dwayne Rankin, Glen Bolden.
This is a provisional squad and could yet be added to, so come on Bretton chaps, lets see who you've got.
In all seriousness, should be a great game and a better drink and I for one cannot wait.

But Eye's a lot smaller.. we'd have to be a five a side team
I reckon if you were to put the smaller suburbs of Gunthorpe/Walton/Paston and maybe Werrington together would come up with a great squad. :grt1:

As for the westwood issue, numerous people live in Westwood and originate from bretton!! Should the team either be selected on where you live now or past tense - which one Gino? As Tyler and Doggett both Ravensthorpe but Bretton Lads!!

Rules sre simple chaps. Have to have lived in either area for a mininum of 5 years. Simple as that.

Now this is a beauty of an idea rocket and we need the godfather Tony at the helm. count me in to play 26 years an orton lad, have strayed a couple of times but always come back. we will have to keep the police away though, it could be the biggest drug bust since 1975 with them orton players on the list.

Well bretton must have a decent team i lived there for good 4-5 years when 1st moved here from Scotland and pretty sure that both Bannies, Danny wilder, niper are just 4 i can think of really quickly but pretty sure Aaron is away and not sure when he will be back
Also sure more names will pop up!!

Spoken to Seb today who has had confirmation from the council that the game is booked for Saturday the 26th May, 12pm KO at Bushfield.
Following that back to the Jube to show that even though victorious, us Orton boys will still be happy to drink you under your own tables........

Unfortunately our squad seems to be decimated by injuries But we will solider on showing the true Bretton Spirit!!

hmmm, yes but as i am a new member to the area i think the teams are made up of long running orton bretton peeps! besides i'm getting a bit old for this sort of thing!

Strangely I was thinking the same about Harbs, Not that's its any of my business but if you're not careful you will be allowing people to play who've had a cousin twice removed who lived in Orton or Bretton or perhaps they stayed overnight after a party, So who might Royal Mail be?

Not at all Harbs. I've seen you patrolling the midfield for Perkins and JNE with ease.

Looking like game will have to be cancelled, apparently Bretton cant get enough players, with a deadline of tomorrow at 1pm.

what about bretton and walton joining forces or westwood or all three just to get the game on randal might know 11 players then
so the whole of bretton can't even get 11 players together! i think randall needs to look outside the jubilee box! i know that ian edge and mark paul would be up for a game like that and you'll struggle to get 2 better players in bretton. they can also get a few decent players too.

Think Ian and Mark were included in the squad already according to Foggy. He's a Bretton boy but won't even be supporting the lads as he's under orders for a weekend in York with his missus !!!!!!!! Hope the game does go ahead as after his performance at Whittlesey last game of the season it would be a pleasure to watch Gino once again !!!!!!!!
fair play to him he did the business against us on the last day of last season at psl. my dad said he weren't a bad player back in the day and he aint too bad a judge.

Think it just the wrong weekend being a bank holiday and all that. My understanding was the game was due to be played last sat at 12.00 at perkins followed by a few beers watching the cup final
We can get a game sorted no probs and a team!! JB - Edgy and Mark were both playing and I was also after Dave Sadler to play as well. No bottle - that is funny!!
If a definite date and time can be arranged before the season starts then I will guarantee to get a team!! Say Perkins - Sat 23rd June 12.00 - How about it Gino? Hope you calm now mate, did not even mean to text you last night!! :soo:

Didn't happen, Bretton couldn't get a side.
I think Seb and Rocket are re-scheduling
Alrite big G and sebwaa hope you aint forgot i am an orton boy now and have been for 5 years ???so that means i to qualify for the orton team.And my mate tony timbrell will just make it in i think.
