Interesting reading Tom Obvioulsy they are very poor losers in the UCL so will you will have to make sure you do it again at Higham
Nice to see your making friends on your travels tom  the big boys do get upset don't they..
they really do think they're something special in that league dont they!!! top half of sat prem is way better than most of that league by far! proper cry babies as their precious teams obviously dont believe that peterborough prem teams deserve to be on the same pitch as them let alone keep getting spanked by psl.
tommy if you get interviewed after winning semi(hopefully) a kevin keegan style rant would be quality
get to the final and lets all go and support the boys and out number all the ucl w****rs!
Well after reading all that I think we can safely say Peterborough Sports are not respectable, what do you say Mr Hickey ?
Hit the salad bar Mr Flynn

Thanku Mark but i am very respectable
Their right back didn't think so, I think that's why they lost you know, he had to take such a detour round you from that throw in he was knackered

just read it..........what inflated ego's those boys have!! great replies Tom, bet they didn't expect that
maybe al can bring a tradition along to the semi from his beloved chelsea and supply everyone with celery to support the salad dodger!

In which case you might win something this year Al.
I prefer Gandolf Tom rather than Tommy Baggins though
You still after a kit sponsor? - what do you think your strip would look like with "Tommy Trophy" across the front?
carefree
20-01-2007, 12:03
we want 2 look smarter tommy 4 the run in win or lose, have had a great season so far so anything else is a bonus, but its whats in the kit that counts, if your 4 real defo need 1, don't care whats on the front but 'tommy trophy' wld be funny.
Because most of them have never heard or seen psl in action that means that ucl are by far the more superior side. what a load of Bull.
the comment from the d1ck that said "i would like to wish you all the best but i hope you get stuffed." ....... UCL W@nk W@nk W@nk
I hope you smash em psl after beating so cany clubs from that league already they owe you a lot more respect and i hope you win it.

It's amazing hoe the ' big boys ' think the cup belongs to them. Thrapston were lucky to finish with 11 players as their captain should have accrued at least 5 bookings. Luckily for him Ben was well behaved :batr:
everybody looks at a game through blinkers, but, I can only think that there are a lot of shortsighted people @ Thrapston.
As for respectability - in the light of the postings on the UCL website, I don't think we have a hop in hell! - But a nice silver cup to drink out of would be nice!

Don't know if PNS have been re-instated at all, as UCL site seems to suggest, but Whitworths going out today against lower league opposition is a huge result for PSL and gives them a real chance - first Peterborough League side to win that cup in what 30 years? - it is a shocking record and about time someone put it right.
Think buying you guys a kit might be a breach of my impartiality what with me being on the league committee Al, which is a shame but it would be funny.
You and Moulton are going really strong in the league and I am interupting my globe trotting to watch your home game on Feb 3rd with Moulton assuming county or PFA cups do not get in the way
Big win for the tractor boys today in one hell of a derby with Colchester - hard luck Mr Flynn - mind you Cardiff are flying at the moment.

tommy we r playing higham town semi county cup game on the 3rd feb.
its is a big boost that whitworths r out but we have still got 2 go away 2 yet another ucl side and win 2 get 2 the final at northamton town f.c.
on the kit sponsor thingy, how about budget getting behind us 4 a new kit then?

Cheers Tommy, thank for your concern re Wolves  You boys are on the way up i see. That Whitworths result means nothing unless we do the buisness against Higham then we will go from there. But as you say Tommy,Whoever gets there now has a fighting chance of lifting the silverware.PNS must be laughing their socks off.We beat PINCHBECK yesterday and with 2 new signings playing, Hempson and Quinney and only had 12 men.I was disgusted with the way we played yesterday, and yes we won and got the points.I warned people that i would not accept laziness from now till the end of the season.Did they listen, did they f**k.I didnt have the subs to make a difference.Pinchbeck worked really hard and did credit to themselves, if it wasnt for the crossbar and a brilliant save from Billy Ponsford the result would not be reading 2v0.Tony must have been aggrieved his lads came away with nothing.Oundle next week in the cup,Another difficult game. Will there be changes to the team?Watch this space!!!! On another note the club really does need a new kit, anybody know anyone who can help please?
thanks tommy just out of interest do you think pinchbeck are a good developing side now and are one of the most progressed teams of the last few seasons? ( trying not to blow my own trumpet ofcourse)
carefree

i'll give u an honest opinion on that 1 robbo. after my thoughts frm last season set aside.
i thought that pinchbeck where a credit 2 tony, a very young side who never gave up and worked really hard 4 each otha, on another day wld have got a draw, but as has been seen in the past the top sides have got away with it, look at moulton 3 1 nil wins on the trot at 1 pt this season.
cant understand how u got beat by long sutton 3-1 but hey it always happens when a team gets a new manager.
overall not an easy side 2 beat anymore, keep up the good work and take pts of all the top sides please!! except us yeah?

Hi Robbo,i thought the whole team gave everything for you but was particularly impressed with the two wide men .They worked up and down the flanks but were very quick going forward and gave both our full backs a really hard time.Dont know why you are where you are in the league if your playing like that. Its pretty obvious your not and must be only saving your best v the top teams. But i can only see that the future of your club is very bright if you hold onto the players and they wish to stay and build your club.

5 UCL scalps on our way 2 the final !!!!
with PNS losing the other semi final its now leaves no semi pro UCL sides left in it.
dont know when a amateur team last won this??
any idea?
u must know the answer 2 this 1 stato (ianh)?
final:
PSL V KISLINGBURY
at northampton town
Looking at the Northamptonshire FA records and the final has always had a UCL club in the final for the last 10 years. In that time the final has always been won by a UCL team.
Good luck to Peterborough Sports in the final and well done on beating so many UCL teams. Your a credit to the local area.
First Peterborough team to a final this season lets hope your joined by a few more.

well we all like to think we are making history king..
THATS IF WE DO GO ON TO WIN IT.....
just out of interest has anyone from our level won it since ucl sides level 6/5 have been able to take part ?
think them boys won it (70's/80's) when their division was the highest level in the county cup??. we are currently below that level now.
could it be that we are the only side at our level (7) to get to the final since ucl sides were allowed in it?
whatever the case i bet none from pboro league ever beat 5 ucl or higher division teams for them to reach the final???
so more then happy to brag about that
p.s well at least we are the only pboro side level 7 this centuary

Al, it is only level 6 UCL that play in your Northants Junior Cup and it has always been the case so far as I can remember. Don't want to knock what you have achieved as it is still exceptional but only the Hunts Senior Cup guys have to beat level 5 teams. In all seriousness really well done to PSL and you don't need to fish for praise or worry about what the UCL thinks of you. Just go out and win the final.

Thankyou for putting me right about Peterborough Rovers Arthur.I remember watching them growing up with Phil Walding, Jim Hooke, and Dave Gregory playing for them. I personally dont agree about Eye being a Peterborough side no matter where they play and under whatever guise they are.PNS. Just my opinion, Regards Tom

thanks barry, i wasnt sure thats why i asked, the hand book shows level 6/5 in the same bracket, so ucl 1 is 6, prem 5 thats clear now. hunts cup has higher standard clubs allowed in it even if there are only 4 x ucl prem teams & 1 x ucl 1 , right yeah?,, so makes it that much harder 2 win then northants, i suppose the ucl are always in the hunts final then? (ortonians made it once i think and got hammered by yaxley, any other pboro prem sides won that 1? but there is alot of ucl 1 side in northants cup. me being a bit tim but dim wasnt sure, i have only been involved at leval 7 for 6 1/2 seasons now so wasnt clear, im a pure amatuer compared with some o you boys out there.

Ortonians have won the Hunts Cup three times and been beaten finalists three times
Hoptpoint have also won the Hunts Cup
By the way Yaxley beat Orronians 6-3 in a semi-final but your achievement is still very good because I think you play almost twice as many rounds
Well done Al but make sure you come home with the cup

AL - WE ARE ALL PLEASED AND IMPRESSED THAT PSL HAVE REACHED THE NORTHANTS JUNIOR CUP FINAL.
Now could you please stop worrying about what UCL clubs have to say or whether yours is a better record than other succesful local teams in the past!
The Hunts Cup has some better teams the Northants more teams, so comparing them is irrelevant - bottom line is that winning either is difficult for clubs at our level and would be a great achivement.
Hope you and the guys are focussed on now finishing the job off, as I remember Molins, Eye, Perkins and Oundle all reaching this final but losing.
Keep doing your stuff and repeat it over a number of seasons and then the respect will come naturally without forcing it.
Interesting thing for me will be your ability to juggle 3 competitions and particularly making sure you are up for the League games (which is still the REAL measure of a side) - you have not been here before and it will be difficult, especially with Moulton in such great form
