Good result today Langtoft !!! what on earth happened out there ????

Your'e welcome on the matty front, i hold no grudges gaainst the old boy, in fact i think he will become a class act later in life. (though he had better watch his legs when he plays us ) !!!!

don't know bout you, but our pitch at kings cliffe was WET !!!!!!!!!!!

Great result for us , Got our star man Duckkers back from injury, class and scored a good goal !!! but mine was better .... 4 flicks over def'ders heads and a sweet volley over keeper !!!!!!!! and a GREAT diving slide to celebrate it .. Bad idea !!!!!! :ndg:

Fair play to you Biffa,

Yep it was a wet mudbath at the grange to.

To be fair 0-4 may have flattered us a bit but our keeper was outstanding and was jumping in to crowds of 6 people head 1st etc really couldnt fault his performance in anyway,

We took our chances and they didnt to be honest, the 4th was a pen in the last min so we saw it as a way of showing our gratitude to let the keeper take it.

It really was a good game, oh yeah I'm pretty sure JB got subbed and threw his dummy out the pram.

Well done Aiden, really big round of applause to your keeper. He was brilliant. Your right about the scoreline, could have been different if it wasn't for him but credit where its due.

Also game was played in good spirit by both sides, referee was also on top of the game.

See you in a couple of months.

Pino

4-0 did not flatter you as it should've been a lot more. sub-standard hand me downs from the 1st team have ruined the res's and due to the 1st team managers policy of signing new players all the time the res's season is now screwed. a month ago and it would've been a different game but when you rip up a winning team it isn't usually helpful. as i said before anything can happen on a footy pitch and most people expected a netherton win but the team who desrved it on and off the pitch won it so well done.

didn't spit dummy out just had enough of my season being ruined again for the second season in a row!

biffa good luck in the cup final cos believe me you'll be there!

oh and to any 1st teamers who played yesterday i dont mean all of you!

I must say it was a great game to play in in terms of the spirit of the game and a good result for us at Langtoft but it will mean nothing if we take our foot of the gas. This win now means that we have the destiny of the title in our hands and that is all that we got out of the game on saturday, the chance to win the league if we do what we have to do....
HAving said that it is always good to beat your nearest rival well.....Yes our keeper was in good form but we missed 3 or 4 , hit the bar and had one off the line so the score could have been very different....
But roll on next game sat...
Oh JB, see the Arsenal and Liverpool game was a thriller.......NOT !!!!

jb

refused arsenal tickets and talked the ref into playing the game on a tiny pitch. not my most intelligent of saturdays!

Arfur

You decision helped us a treat pace up front against a slow back four on a mud bath..........

not the most intelegent comments either may i say jb.... all have opinions and thats the beauty about football as no one is ever right but i wouldnt suggest slaggin off ur current team mates is the best idea u have had as many people read and hear about them . no i in team . seen as u were once a first team player would that make u sub standard hand me down ??
and didnt a sub standard 1st team player score a hatrick for the reserves last week?....

i heard the game was quite even myself but well done to langtoft who apparently have some good quick nifty forwards and a good goalie . but they were 5 aside goals lol .surely the game shouldnt have gone ahead. im sure it would of broke the minimum sized pitch regulations!

You can always tell if JB is ill - he's NOT making 'snidy' comments about first teamers!

jb
08-01-2007, 18:10
why don't some people know when to shut their mouths? do you really think i care who reads my comments? as you say its about opinions and if i was bothered about people reading them i would hardly express my views on here would i?

and even eddie c.s. could've scored that hat-trick against such a poor team in a game we also struggled in

didn't slag off any of my team MATES

Well Pimmy is very close to to langtoft but is currently playing for Deeping, you defo aint gonna gonna play for their 1st team and their reserves have scott verrall.

I have one of the best left backs in the league he aint going any where so god knows what you and pimmy are talking about then

jb
09-01-2007, 19:21
who said anything about playing for anyone else :soo: and if i was why would it be as a left back :soo: i may have played there for deeping once upon a time but not the only position i play. ever thought i may be in the area a lot for reasons other than football :soo: its nice to know you're all interested though thanks. :sm:

not even gonna be available for the next few weeks so i'll be having a much needed break from football as i havent had a break for 2 seasons(which has really been showing!) what with tournaments last summer etc. but you can rest assured i will be keeping up to date with things and be praising, mocking or being mocked as its fun! :str:

or is the break lasting 7 days?

jb
09-01-2007, 19:22
see above regarding moving clubs. i made a promise to a mate that if i were to leave this season it would be to his team and that hasn't changed but i have no plans to leave. at the mo i'd rather not play at all due to burnout! need to rest for a bit

Never seen so many posts about a bog standard player who blames the first team manager when his reserve team loses badly because they had first teamers in the side
Can we move on

jb
09-01-2007, 22:29
no one asked you to read and post did they  most of the people in this thread communicate privately as well as on here which makes it good banter if you know whats going on and as seeing as none of us are a farmyard animal i'm pretty sure you havent heard from any of us involved

BIFFA BACON
10-01-2007, 03:25
i would'nt mind having a pre season break !!!!! :clap2:
It's not easy carting around a few stone ( :scr: ) every week and my legs are tired... espicially after scoring at the weekend and also running Langtoft around in cirlces .. ( as well as falling over in the box!!! )
But saying that , there is still life left in the old :dog: !!!!!!!!

Arfur
10-01-2007, 09:00
Poor old Biffa, all that running around aginst Langtoft, diving in the box, 3 pens and still we get 3 points...Maybe it is time for a rest...he he he
i'm all for breaks in between xmas and New Year or as Langtoft call them Waterlogged pitches with no lines..........
JB don't listen to them all mate, as i said i thought you had a good first couple mins then faded badly so think your right you must be in need of a rest........But make sure your back for the game at LAngtoft, i'll let you see the grey hair on the back on head again as i ghost past you for the millionth time......

jb

biffa you continue to be a legend :nwy:

Arfur
10-01-2007, 09:30
I would never dispute Biffa being a legend in his own house hold ...... I'm still coming to terms with him using the word "run around"........he he

jb
10-01-2007, 09:39
he does give opposition the run around.............HIM! and that knackers the opposition out

no matter what team you put him in at whatever standard he always does the business so a legend he is to me:lol: (oh and as11 you chelsea scumbag thats not my attempt at trying to go back to psl as i know how your imagination works  )

JB, good thing is that Netherton have an "A" side - mind you would they want a sulking prima donna dropping down from the reserves?

mattsedd
10-01-2007, 10:48
they seemed to put up with me ok last week

jb
10-01-2007, 13:56
we could have done with you rather than you getting ousted matt! spiderman how does anything i've put on here make me a prima donna and how does it concern you? all i've done is expressed my concerns and dissapointment in losing serious ground in a title race(do you know what one of those is?) all i'm showing is my passion and desire and will to win. why bother playing if you dont have that? i dont pull any punches which some people dont like but thats just the way i am so if you dont like it :mnn:

Arfur
10-01-2007, 15:34
JB i like your frankness and bold answers and the passion that you show for the game and the fact you DID lose ground in the title race but a long way to go and all could change so we aren't counting our chickens at langtoft, we intend to keep our heads down and keep winning 11 games to go, 10 wins for the title (9 if we do you again)..
And back to Biffa, has he been around, i've would never forget that face........certainly not that wobble.......Good chap though must say.

BIFFA BACON
10-01-2007, 18:23
Cheers wee man !!!!

That wobble ..... :burger: certainly had your so called defenders in a daze !!!!!!!!!!

Langtoft_United
10-01-2007, 19:22
I swear we have the strongest defence in the whole league

BIFFA BACON
10-01-2007, 21:44
I don't think JB is a prima donna spidey !!!!!! i have to admitt that 2 seasons on the bounce is hard for anybody to throw away the title !!!
I thought last year was hard enough wiv me at P'boro sports, but again this year wiv Netherton ( Pino, not saying you crap or anything like that ) !!! you know me better than that !!!!!
It is hard for a player to give his all in every game for his club and yet the league title slip away !! that ain't funny.

Arfur ... as for me being a legend , yes my 2 kids do think that of me at home thanks very much .But the true people who know me, know that i'm probably one of the most fariest Gaffa's around..
i have had many players this year go and play for a higher standard of footie this year, and to me that's great !! ( aprt from matty atkins )
when i was younger, i got treated like garbage. Dropped for no reason and travelled across east anglia to keep the bench warm etc, and to me cuz that happend to me , i WONT do that to any of my players.
Yes, if they turn up drunk from the night before.. dropped to the bench....had a shocker the week B4... dropped. i'm all for keeping players on thier toe's but not taking the p*ss !!! thats why have 4 players playing for me currently over 5ys , and 4 over 4yrs.. thats why JB called me a legend... and i'm not blowing my own trumpet. just clearing the confusion.
JB, you know as well as any one who has left me to go else where.. the door is always open for
players to return !!!!! :door:

Langtoft ?? the strongest defence in the league    no chance .. i think if an overweight part time player can run your defence in circles and even if we did not score, you defence was woefull .. Arfur kept you in that game ... the Wee man neva gave up !!!!!!! :nwy:

jb
10-01-2007, 23:39
cheers for the support bif. as you know the only reason i left you was playing higher for netherton 1sts but that didn't quite work out! quite ironic that we blew the title last season after losing to netherton!

i knew i would always be welcome back to play for any team you manage but its nice to hear from the horses mouth.

I think the stats say it all Biffa, played 15 let in 17

Netherton nearly scored that many against you in your two games and neither of you lot could score against us!

Every team has its off days we had ours against you and still took 3 points.

Arfur was doing another mans job that day and did it very well but when we have the full squad out we are the strongest by far.

Arfur
11-01-2007, 09:15
Biffa, i know how you feel, i played and managed Langtoft 1st team for the past 2 season and at end of last season said that was it for me, give up manager and playing but some how that moaning boy Aiden got me playing again 6 games into the season and to be fair i have enjoyed it alot, helps when your winning......
You have the same attitude to managing as me and like you i have played for the big teams and travelled round warming benches some times and scoring masses of goals other times (as a young one) but now all about fun until i stop playing again at end of season...
Not sure if strongest defence in the league but i must say Langtoft res have a great attuitude to games and a will to win but YOUR right if it wasn't for me they wouldn't be where they are...he he he That is a joke Aiden don't worry but carry on paying me and i'll turn up....I wish.

Arfur
11-01-2007, 09:17
Just had a thought do you think some players are jinked ????
Look at Nigel Quashie, relegated 4 times npw West HAm buy him ready for there relagation, do you think JB has the same problem with winning leagues........he he he ...

Langtoft_United
11-01-2007, 09:24
Stats say it all Arfur, with Wildman sitting we are solid.

jb
11-01-2007, 11:49
more of a county cup man myself! i totally agree that its attitude and team spirit over ability that gets teams places and makes playing enjoyable....mmmm i wonder why netherton 1st and res's have struggled in recent weeks but the a's are going strong under rocket ron :soo:

eddie c s
11-01-2007, 12:57
hmmm i put the recent results down to how footy is and nothin to do with the team spirit . have u been in the 1st dressing room for a while? .... the firsts have played some good teams and narrowly lost and recently drew , way footy goes sometimes but can tell u we win lose and draw as a side

didnt rocket rons A team lose 7-0 last week ? so dont really get your point . cant really expand on the reserves as i havent seen them this year yet . but the way i was told was that u smashed a free kick high wide n hansome n then got subbed and went home without even a goodbye . maybe its behaviour like that which ruins team spirit? :soo:

mattsedd
11-01-2007, 13:30
Think the point he was trying to make is that Rocket Ron gets a great team spirit going in all his teams, and that people really enjoy playing for him and with each other. That does count for a lot and can turn many draws into victory.

Think the 7-0 reverse was a one off, and could probably be put down to the fact that a moody sulky pre-madonna reserve team player was put down to the A-team, destroying the team spirit!

Have to disagree with you there Langtoft about having the strongest team when all available. I believe that we at Pinchbeck have the strongest team in this league when everyone is fit and available.

I don't think in any of our games this season, we have had out strongest team out, and the team has changed each week for one reason or another. But thats football!!!

Langtoft_United
11-01-2007, 15:44
Yeah turned you over twice!

Cheers for coming PUFC

Arfur
11-01-2007, 16:16
Well Pinchbeck got chance to show how good you are against Netherton this weekend..
I still think best footballing side in this league that i have played against are PSL...Especially that chubby lad biffa up front, what a player, i still think it is Yan Molby in disguise..
But Langtoft have to be the top team as the league doesn't lie and the results keep rolling on but 11 games to go to show who is the best side in the league......

Langtoft_United
11-01-2007, 18:25

jb
11-01-2007, 18:37
think you'll find it doesn't matter for the league unless its a cup game which is not the most straight forward set of rules!

dont think you have any cup games left though do you?

Langtoft_United
11-01-2007, 18:40
Nope we were only in the Minor cup this season and didnt do very well, however we did stuff Netherton on their pitch on Sat 0-4

eddie c s
11-01-2007, 20:03
yes people in rons team do enjoy there football but am not sayin otherwise . its a combination of a lot of factors that win games .
matt i know what he was tryin to suggest . im not sayin team spirit aint a help u idiot , but jb suggested that is the most important thing and that there is none in the top 2 teams at netherton which is factually incorrect in as far as the first team is concerned
and then i just stated that by some players behaviours that can maybe have a adverse effect on a team spirit and maybe ruin what has been built up. things like asking the manager 2 sub a first teamer hand me down who are normally sub standard and storming off when being subbed etc

A.S.11
11-01-2007, 20:33
i dont think theres anything wrong with team spirit in any netherton team... :soo:

how many teams are like netherton??? how many go down pub etc after games every week go out together every weekend go on holiday together every year??? etc etc

i think netherton has best team spirit around thats wat has made us such a good club???

BIFFA BACON
11-01-2007, 21:31
OI !!! less of the chubby...... and more of the well built if you dont mind 1/2 pint !!!!!!
Jan molby eh , i'm liking that .Our team spirit was 2nd to none last year. But the beginning of this year we suffered dreadfully in our performances, which in turn started to get the players niggiling at each other, come on lets face it , play netherton at thier place .. get stonked 9-2 and end the game with 9 men as oska and abbas decided to walk off with 10 mins to go !! then a week later play um again at our place ( And the worse thing is the ET came down .. cheers ) and get smashed 4 nil ....
Now what people don't know is this .... we played the first 13 competitive game ,, league and cups with no goalkeeper !!!!!!!! :wow:
Myself and 2 other players have been gracious enuff to help me out .Now THATS team spirit for ya .... we even went over to islip for a northants cup game with 7 players and a player who could'nt stand let alone kick a ball in goal . ok we were spanked in the 1st half 7 nil , but 2nd half we scored first and went on to loose that 2-1 ... all credit to those lads turning up!!!!!

Now we have a UNIT of a gk behind the defence and we are on a run of being unbeaten for 7 games ( forgetting that blip aginst u langtoft) the sprit is back and the boyz are buzzing.... not saying we all go on holiday togteher ( mmmmmm :scr: ) but weddings and poker nights and stag nights are very common in the PSL camp !!!! and we are all raring to go in the 2nd half of the season.!!!! even thoough you seem to be racing away in the league langtoft, and not taking anything away from you at all .. BUT .. as the saying goe's .. it aint over till the fat BIFFA sings !!!!!

Arther you need to stop bum licking Biffa he is awful and getting a big head we all know he was useless against us  and we still need to play this team once more and I don't want you two kissing at half time whilst I give a team talk!

However good for you Biffa we might see you in the 1st division the season after next.

Hopefully you can start singing sooner rather then later

Seems my manger is upset with me, then again what does he know about football he supports Newcastle....
Well if things go according to plan it may be the day we play you Biffa the league title gets wrapped up...Now how good would that be .....Even better if you was in goal that day and i smash a hat trick past ya..he he he But then again best wake up and be sensible about this...
Your right can't hear the fat lad singing yet but a small hummm is beginging, 10 wins to go........Lets hope we dont run out of steam hey.

psl res's have the best goalie in combination without a doubt and i would say in top 5 maybe even top 3 keepers in the whole of the pboro league! i'd want him over any other keeper i know and played in the ryman league when at uni not so long ago so has the credentials to back up my claim.

ONLY PROBLEM IS HE'S A COPPER! hehe lets see how long he stays fit for now!

I know we didn't train this week cause it was too wet, but I would have thought as long as it doesn't rain any more, it might be ok to play on, although I have not seen it.

And who are you Carrots? Do I know you?

If it goes ahead, what is your prediction JB? I am going to sit on the fence and all I will say, is that I think it will be a tight game.

Wish I was playing. I like these sort of games. Instead, I am out for the season unfortunately.

Sorry JB, hate to disappoint you - but, in my opinion, I have the best goalkeeper in the Combination league.

psl res keeper played for 1sts in nhants quarter final on sat and although he didn't have much to do he did what he needed to do pretty well. kicking out of the man made beach in the goal area was a bit tricky though

its all about opinions which makes it all so much fun.

JB in his teenage years my guy was with Kettering, and played for their reserves when he was 15. His lack of height is probably the only thing that stopped him progressing further- and he now chooses to enjoy his football playing with his mates - and at our level that, for me, is what its all about. :ndg:
