I put in PROBABLY one of the worst refereeing performances that I have done at the weekend. One of those just always seemed to be in the wrong place days and yes it was the "you were the only one on the park who didn't see it" days.

Anyway I do have a point. I may have completely ruined the lifes of some local footballers but I felt a whole lot better last night at the expense of the referee who was doing the England U21 game. He couldn't have had a better view of it. And that was a real important decision. So when you all rant and rave at the refs that you didn't get a throw in, your way !!!! or it was never a pen. Get it out of your system quick. Because these guys get £20ish so you get a game of footy. We ALL make mistakes and in my experience referees make a lot less mistakes when people keep off their case.

I've just read the bit above and it sounds like a pointless comment. Am I really suggesting that we can change the whole mentality of footballers and supporters (because we don't seem to get it in rugby and cricket) from the ages of 10 to 40. Never. But it might provoke some chat.

I am expecting to get some stick for this post but there you go. :blh:

You cant expect to get them all right, if we did, what would the players have to moan about?? I have seen some bad refereeing this season, at all levels. Been out assessing and have seen both good and bad referees

No ones perfect, except me and TommyC, or so he says anyway

Personally i think that some decisions are obvious, and there the ones res must getting right everytime. But, if its a 50/50 desision and the ref gives it 1 way, the other team is always going to moan, which makes it seem like the ref had a bad game. Mind we had a UCL ref for 1 game this season and he did a fantastic job, maybe becuase he could keep up with the play and was very aware of what wa going on. Probably the main reason for most decisions going the wrong way is because the ref can't keep up with play, mind i could be wrong!
