View Full Version : Sundays Fixtures
Looks like Netherton are up for their a$$ whooping on Sunday, lets hope its not cold especially if im warming that bench up.
do any of the nerthon players come on here?
how many do you think you are going to loose by on Sunday??
A few of the lads have a read but dont generally post!
Should be a good game sunday morning looking forward to it, always have good battles with JNE.
Can guarantee we wont give up whatever the score!!!
Us lads at netherton love being the underdogs
JNE are a different force to last year with a few good signings so its a new challenge for our relatively unchanged squad.
Come on the reds!!!!
Hairy; How are you the underdogs?? If I were a betting man there wouldnt be much between us odds wise.
Yeh should be a good game as per usual though.
Dont you have a new pitch down the grange now??Is it still as rubbish as the rest of em??
I guess all you boys will be having a nice night in watching Casualty sat night??
Have a new pitch nearer the changing rooms, it seems to be a lot better than the old pitch but hav only played on it twice so yet to see it in all conditions!
Sure a few of the lads will be out on the water in preparation!
Will def be a tight game and dont see much between us, will come down to who wins their personal battles on the day.
nearer the changing room is that so your subs who were out on shandy can watch the re run of casualty from the bench?
or just so you have less distance to crawl of the pitch?
Game finished 1-1, good game spoilt but some dodgy decisions and even worse some serious play acting but fair result.
Jub should have won as had numerous chances but could not score due to little luck and also so really good defending. Also, a terrible/shocking decision by the lino!!
In the end netherton could have and should have nicked it due to a shocking dive by scotcher (who had a very good game up until then) that won them a pen that bannie saved.
With Westwood dropping points it was a good day although could have been better. However, I want to mention Yaxley Three Horseshoes who are undefeated and have a good side this year, could they be the black Beauty of the prem???

yes i would have to agree was a good game which i think play wise jne shaded it with creatin a few more chances but game could of still gone either way.
it sometimes amazes me how some people can only see decisions one way . netherton awarded 2 penaltys to jne 1 . now lets look st them .... first pen scotch was pulled n slightly tripped but stayed on his feet n the pen was awarded . jne contest the penalty sayin wot a shockin decision it was , failing to realise that scotch was actually 6 yrds out with only a goalie to beat . so actually awardin a pen did them a favour .
2nd pen , bainsy makes a good run in the box n was challenged by sico who was tryin to get in front but nudged him slightly in the back n bainsy went over . now even though i think he may of gone down easy/skillfully i can still see how the ref came to the conclusion that it was a pen . in my eyes he won it well .
the offside goal, ball get played to a player on the bar line who crosses the ball over , certain offside....
n then the third pen scotch ran n cut inside bannie where 2 plays upend him in the box . contact was heard from other end of the pitch n then wot followed was what i thought spoiled the game , not the decisions made .
like i say we all want our teams to win it just really amuses me that some people cant think , yeah i can see how that was or was not given, n that the only right decision is when it goes for u.
1-1 it was , n sets up what looks to be a fairly tight league.

That was a pretty one sided report.
every man and his dog could hear there was contact!
no point getting into the he said/ she said as I'm sure we wont ever agree.
A view from the 'other camp'; The way you lot acted after the last pen was given was the biggest "downside" which spoilt a game in good spirits Certainly didn't see us trying to grab Baines by the throat, or throw punches, when he went down for his penalty, but hey, thats just the way us shandy drinking, casualty loving posh boys were brought up to play.
All I'm trying to say is there was lots in the game that both teams could complain about.
The league is certainly a lot closer this year, enjoying it loads, and wach out indeed for that dark horse (shoe) from yaxley!
The first penalty that was given was a mystery to even your striker he couldn't figure out what it had been given for there was a battle between attacker and defender and then a pen is given how that did us a favor is a mystery considering he was coming from the byline and had a maximim of 2 feet to shoot at where as from the pen you can take your pick so yeah i see what your saying about biased reports.
Baines pen was blatant and your second pen in my opinion yeah i heard contact but maybe that was the occasion to stay on your feet and score a proper goal. it did get very heated and showed how much that decision meant to the whole team its done now but im sure our next match will be just as good and hopefully no scrapping just football being on show.
all the best for the season. hows your ankle Hairy slow and late challenge i apologise for that.
Matt did some one record casualty for you as we were a fair way from the changing rooms.
Correct me if Im wrong but wasn't it Scotcher himself that went up to a few of our players at the end and apologised for diving???
Oh and that tackle on you Hairy was outshone by the girly scream that followed!!Ned Flanders would be proud!
Still good game.

lol - the only thing we knew about casualty on saturday night was when Eddie stopped breathing and we had to rush him there!!!! (fact)
Dont think Scotcher appologised for diving, I think he apologised if you thought he dived. subtle difference. All I know was he was obviously shaken up (I think I would be if I'd had 11 bretton boys threaten to kill me after the game) and in the changing room afterwards he was a bit confused by all the scrapping, as he knew what we all knew, that there was definate contact. Think you got it righ Harbs, maybe went down light, but that doesn't mean it wasn't a pen, it would have been the same the other way round.
Incidently, I'm still waiting for that slit throat that I was threatened with ;0)
(no need to go through with it boys - heat of the moment and all that - good to see the passion in the game, looking forward to the rematch, and good to see JNE back with a decent side after last seasons disappointing atempt)
All the best for the rest of the season back at ya lads,
Deary me, if you call that a scrap then you netherton boys have lived a sheltered life!! All heat of the moment stuff/handbags and showed passion and commitment. :gun:
What you can not get away from is the fact that both Netherton pens were not simple as that and 2 local referees who were both watching agreed and commented so to Ron and other people!! :soo:
There was contact on the last pen decision but that was scotcher falling over his own feet? However, what you can not defend is the throwing of his arms out and screaming like hairy :soo:
As I said before draw was just about a fair result and league is looking good, just hope the best team wins the league and not bad referee/lino decisions (some say they equal themselves out but not sure in a small/tight league)

There were definately several refere's there who though they were both pens. if as you say there were several refs who thought they weren't, then that shows the beauty of fooball, my friend. Difference in oppinon.
Talking of bad ref decisions, everyone has got grumbles all over the place for inconsistencies. Lets just remember we had a player sent off first game of the season for saying (and this is an exact quote) "thats horrible ref" after a penalty was given. The same referee didn't even caution Foggy on Sunday for strangling Scotcher and hurling proper abuse at the ref and anyone else in sight when a penalty was given this Sunday.
There are inconsistencies all around. Our player had to miss important games (I.e this sunday).
All of our red cards always get sent through, our players always have to serve their suspensions. Can all teams honestly say the same? I know for a fact not.
You win some you lose some, hopefully it will even itself out over the season.
Agreed, hopefully the best team will win the league. Cos we haven't won that one yet :bst: :bst: :bst:

anyway seems like some will always see football one way but now its just a little bla bla bla....
next thing on the agenda , retaining the northants cup . does anyone think this is a possible feat>? how many teams have done so in the past ?
netherton have heyford united at home next sunday 22/10
they are top of division 1 ( one below st margrets and loft style etc ) they played 5 won 5 , beatin st margres res 3-2 along with some other narrow wins . . . .
jubilee n end have loft style in second round . they recently beat st margrets 9-1 ... good luck!! lol
seriously though good luck to all concerned, lord westwood away to wellingboro kweensway , n oak away to corby white heart , sorry have no other info on them ...
Just a bruised ankle harbs, nothing to serious! Did my ligaments in my ankle last year and just felt them pull a bit.
Cant wait to start the defence of our northants title, had tough games every round apart from the semi so dont expect any different this year.
Mr Matt Seddon, I just picked scotcher up by the throat and did not abuse the referee just a sub that had no right being on the pitch as was not part of the game as on the sidelines!!!
Eddie, you are quite correct i believe in the fact that no P'boro sunday team has ever retained the Northants Cup on a sunday morn (please correct me if I'm wrong) and wish you all the best.
Sounds as though we have the hardest draw possible but we will be giving it our all and seeing what happens. Loft style are in the Sunday FA cup and have 2/3 different sides so depends on which one plays as they have some ex pros playing for them, hopefully they will see us as a light touch and we can win but I understand they play at n'hants spencer ground and so will be good team with UCL plyers but we nothing to be afraid of!!
Good luck and I think enough said aboout last sunday and on to this week - Woodston at home for us, another hard game!!
Mattsedd: Your comments about football are about as good as you are a player....utter B*****KS!!!
No ones really mentioned who gave away the pens?? :soo: Got an idea who it might have been.... With Scothers pace, and a not so pacey back 4 at JNE....
Hope that Shoe06 is not referring to Myself as I am lightning down wind/hill or a Mr turn in a hour tyler?? The actual player who gave the first pen away was Skipper kingston who I believe is actually quicker than scotcher. The second scotcher as I have said fell over his own (quick) feet but again sam was in the vicinity.
So who did you think it was Mr Shoe06??
Won 8.1 this morning and was a bit easy, woodston missing a few so not prob a great game to watch or participate in. Netherton lost 3.0 i hear to blue boar. Are they another team like three horseshoes yaxley who could attemptto scupper our best laid plans!!
The Prem Division this season is looking really good so far, teams taking points off each other and the emergence of two teams - Blue Boar and Yaxley Horseshoes.
I hope the rest of the season remains like this and throws up some interesting games in the cold months ahead. A competitive prem makes it worthwhile getting out of bed to referee on a Sunday morning
Blue Boar went about the job effectively today, 0-0 half time, then a quick goal within 2 minutes of the restart, followed by a penalty and cant really remember the third goal. It wasnt a bad game to referee.

yes it was , i thought u were shocking lol! u know im jokin . na was very dissapointin seen as they didnt even have there best side out as roddis was not playin etc , . but then again we always have a game where we look back n think how did we lose that or how did we draw that ..... last yr we gave limetree there only point of season .
but league far from over....
Always pleased to see the bigger teams drop points, which lets us sneak through the back door so to speak... Woodview again for us this week, one seems to think that may be a rout, considering i have heard they have lost a couple of decent players....
Between us a JNE for the title then.... ha ha..
Wonder how many bites i'll get from that... :dog:
Not many shoe as bit silly to say that just yet!! Woodview should be a walk in the park for you if you have all your players out. We have Blue Boar and after them beating westwood and netherton we will not be taking them lightly. Got big nite sat :bub: as my sister getting married and all JNE lads will be there so could be worse for wear but no excuses from us. We are going about our business efficiently and quietly (for once) whilst everyone else tipping us.
I know you lot are quite close in Bretton but are they all marrying your sister then Foggy
just for info - My sister got married in thailand and her do is on Saturday nite.
Do you spend a lot of your time commenting on the Sunday morning thread because you used to be a big Sunday morning player spec?
I hope non of the Jube lads will be drinking on Saturday night.
There are just no excuses for turning up drunk.
:dncr I'll swap my boots for my dancing shoes then shall I!!!

Surely you should have learnt from last seaon JNE, that woodview are not a 'walk in the park'.... Do believe we got a point from you last year... And as for the shoe06, you got very lucky couple of weeks ago... We aint that bad are we.... :soo:
Just being realisitic mate. You started terribly and now lost 2 of your best players!! Shoes flying and best ever prem start.
As for last year, nothing riding on it if I seem to remember correctly bar pride and you obviously had more than us on the day!!

Nah your spot on to be honest... We've been p*ss poor this eason... The ET have even started feeling sorry for us, we lost 9-2 last sunday, and they put it in yesterdays paper as we won 2-0.... Things can only get better... :pty2:
Things could get worse you might get spanked 9 - 0 this week.

Lets jus hope all the shoes players show up as drunk as i heard you were last sunday :bub:
Great answer Harbs !! Foggy you leave yourself wide open for even more abuse with that answer, I will refrain as it's your sister though. Flynny you must know what would have come next !!
If they did i could promise you they woul pull off a few tricks they never thought they were capable of.
What ! You got someone pregnant Harbs
Dont be daft i said a few tricks not miracles!
Any ways i didn't think you would know what i meant. back in your day the extent of your tricks were probably 5-6 kick ups. :nwy:
harbs your kick up record is only 5 even on the odd occasion you turn up sober
Your missing the point here. The point is Spec couldnt do any better back in his day (when the footballs still had pigs hair sticking out of them and the spectators looked like :hpy:
i like that.
