View Full Version : Can anyone stop Moulton?

We are playing out of our skin at the moment, and our 2nd half performance yesterday was something to behold. Trouble is bloody Moulton keep winning!

It will be a big game when we play them away on December 10th (they are still the only team Ortonians have ever lost an away game to since I have been manager!) - need not to lose that 1 really.

Hotpoint are still in it - anybody else think they can join the party or even knock 1 of us out of a top 3 place?

Cracking result yesterday for Ortonians well done ! didn't predict that one at all , what has happened to Perkins ? they was tipped for success at the beginning of the season by many including us .
Agree we you that it is a massive game on December 10th but to be honest we've got some Big games coming up so we can't look too far ahead , but it will be the biggest league game of the season and one that neither team could think about losing . Our away form has been fantastic this season and playing at home we haven't been too convincing but the last few results have been good and hopefully we can get better in the games coming up at home to prepare for the Ortonians clash .

SEE YOU SOON !

Moulton favourites big time for me - Hotpoint & Ortonians fighting it out for 2nd.

Pinchbeck to finish outside the bottom 2 for the first time in a number of years as well!

lozzaman
14-11-2005, 16:50
I think th ebattle at the bottom will probably be as good as the one at the top, I would say Long Sutton to finish bottom.

cheers dave. it will be the first time in 2 years the over year with the johnny balls of this world we finished just below mid table! taking 4 points from moulton in 3 days if i remember

is it true that long sutton manager, scott kent resigned yesterday? does anyone know anything?

He wasn't at the game because we played them

Tommy Trophy
21-11-2005, 15:53
If we play like we did Saturday we will not win a thing - we were rubbish for 80 minutes and only started playing after Stamford Bells equalised where upon we absolutely battered their goal, had 4 cleared off the line and thankfully scored with 2 minutes to go (even though there was a clear foul in the build up - Stamford rightfully aggreived). However if a sneaky, lucky, odd goal victory is good enough for Moulton then it should be good enough for us, and it was nice to go back top even if it is only for 1 week.

Day got better as I then won £50 off Billy Burton on the WBA v Everton game followed by £250 by winning both the 2 games of Texas Holdam in the Royal Oak against 16 rivals - did Robbo in the 2nd final - first time I had played - had the poker face on which is on my picture for this site - how comes you have shots of Gino & Spec smiling? - They couldn't have been taken during games against us!

Enjoying our brief week back at the summit, though our County Cup game on Saturday should see us Moulton go back as they are only playing Alconbury.

STILL have Moulton as favourites (7/4) with Hotpoint 2nd (2/1) and us just the outsider of the 3 (9/4), but not a lot in it with any other side 10/1. I know that it is a bit early to be writing off Crowland, Parson Drove, PSL, Oundle & Perkins but I just can't see them getting involved.

Hotpoint should win it at a canter with the side they now have, though Moulton appear fiercely determined this year to break their duck, whilst we are just plodding along minding our own business!

Hope the other sides don't fall away after xmas like they all did last year - we actually have 4 points more than same stage last year and 3 more than 2 years ago when we won the league, so either we are doing really well or the league isn't actually more competitive?

spec
24-11-2005, 12:09
Tommy you talk out of your arse, how can you say we should win at a canter, you can have the best 11 players in the world but it doesn't make it the best TEAM does it. If the truth be known perhaps you are feeling the pressure of your teams inconsistency at the moment and trying to deflect your chances of winning. I would swap places with you tomorrow in terms of points because you have 2 more than us, simple really !!

The Fen Tiger
24-11-2005, 13:46
Hotpoint should win it easily with the side they have got - just don't think they will - too many posers and prima donnas and no killer instinct or staying power

Cant see horrible Ortonians winning it either - don't know how they are that high with the side they have got - people like Ayres the Whittlesey reject - they're rubbish

Has to be Moulton then - and they're horrible as well

Harbs
24-11-2005, 17:06
well you have a high opinion of everyone dont you Tiger.
i think Hotpoint have a mean killer instinct just take a look at the goal talley they have knocked up. though i still think there are a few clubs that want a big say in the league. and we owe hotpoint for beating us at their ground. PERKINS for the title.

The Peterborough Rover
24-11-2005, 17:53
1 out of top 3 for me as well, but who?

Best team out of them

Ortonians - Beeney, Baines, Patten

Hotpoint - Sanderson, Anderson, Favell, Goodayle

Moulton - Treacher, Hall, Cooke, Ball

Subs - Wollard, Fogg, Ayres

Not much between the sides then????

Dave Baxter
24-11-2005, 18:25
The boy Anderson, is he is the hot headed one - I thought he had gone to Yaxley?

Tommy Trophy
24-11-2005, 18:29
By consistent Spec do you mean winning by loads every week, rather than loads one week and only just the next week?

I think I need to get a bit more bullish as Robbo has been moaning that the site is boring.

Prediction time then - for the 3rd year on a trot I shall be sitting down to my Xmas dinner with Ortonians top of the league.

lozzaman
24-11-2005, 18:44

NUMBER9
24-11-2005, 20:54
Well I'm doing something i said i was not going to do and that is come back on this forum. The reason i stopped coming on this site is that it is full of dick heads and the prize number 1 dick head is you TommyC. Amongst others in Whittlesey i was the happiest bloke in the fens when Ortonions got chucked out of the PFA cup. Although harsh by the PFA it was the correct decision. TommyC you and others in the prem cannot dictate what goes on with league matters, leave that to the committee. If you and your bully boys, i.e Mr Judge, think you can do a better job get on the committee and sort it out yourselves. But you won't do that as you love to sit back and slag hard working people off. I can't wait for the end of the season when Moulton lift the premiership cup and someone else lifts the PFA cup and your left with naff all but that silly grin on your fat face, that's all for now fat boy, I'll be watching you on here, if you step out of line again fatty I'll be the one putting you back in line, as no one else on here dares.

The return of the fraud!

I think it's great that they have let you out of prison for xmas number 9 for managing to sew 100 pillows in a single month - well done!

Non payment of £100 sponsorship money for Macmillan Cancer Relief is a bit of a harsh reason to get 9 months, but then rules are rules as you point out.

I do take umberance on your view re people on this sight, as I think they are mostly level headed nice people and I am the ONLY dickhead rather than the BIGGEST.

However I should thank you for your interest in my life, which unfortunately is not recpricol, though I am having had a word with the prison governor to see if you can have Internet access when you go back in as your postings certainly make me chuckle

This is so much better and like the good old days !!! Number 9 must admire your b******* to come back on here but all you've done is give big fat Tommy Cooper ammunition to gun you down and boy has he done it well !! Tommy what sort of bullish remark and prediction is you being top at Xmas, come on fat face you can do better than that, we only have about 2 more league games before then so I think you might just be right there.
And while we are on the subject of Ortonians has The Fen Tiger got the balls to come out the closet or shall I reveal him to the world myself, you have until Monday before I prove how wonderful modern technology is.

Tommy Trophy
26-11-2005, 13:14
You just stick to talking to your Pinchbeck mates Lozzaman - you Lincolnshire boys had a chat room thing going there for a bit.

Leave the proper football discussions to us more intelligent city boys.

Game off today, so will have to play County Cup game next week, therefore prediction re top at Xmas might already be stuffed.

Its hard coming back from 3-1 down with 10men at half time. We did level the game, but a poor performance put the game past us, we all have a bad game every now and then, think Hotpoint suffered as well?

carefree
27-11-2005, 18:24
excuses excuses! WE ONLY HAD 10 MEN! it was too muddy, the sun was in our eyes, we are all just getting over flu or even we had too many key players missing , heard them all laddie! forget that you were 3 nil down before your failed , so called come back! you lost by the ODD GOAL! funny that can't think of any other team saying the same! 2 loss's against mid table teams now!, plus all them only just won by a single goal games, is there a wobble starting? all this talk about winning the league, much much to soon to say who will be there at the end of the season, there is far more then just 3 teams in it! simple really.

Will be an interesting game. Moulton are a top side, with great spirit and a very good manager. Psl have class, but spirit in abundance and a manager who can get the very best out of his side.

In my humble opinion i think it will be tough for Psl as Moulton will want to halt there little blip, but i do think this is a game that Psl will win 3-2!

By the way Moulton losing to Alconbury was not such a shock. There are good teams in this league all the way through, and on there day anybody can beat anybody as Stamford Bels nearly proved to Tommy last week! Hotpoint getting beat, Whittlesey winning, all getting pretty interesting. I still think there are twists and turns to come.

Im still reffing mate,im lucky enough to officiate Moulton Harrox v PSL this week and looking forward to it.I decided at the end of last season to pack up reffing because of all the moaning.Even if i said i didnt know which way a throw in was it was moan moan moan from one team or the other and i thought bugger it ive had enough. Its not as if i dont give players a decent chance to either shutup or let the odd foul go unpunished. It seemed like it was constant moaning. So i decided to go into management and found out that genuine people are few and far between so i jacked it in.So here we are mate, back to reffing and im loving it.I think players and management have got used to the way i referee now and things are a lot better. So long may it continue.
