PSL v Leverington - abandoned by the referee due to brawl on the pitch
dont really see how this 1 goes, is it in the same ball park as 14 players paying there own way to alconbury and the same 14 players paying to play at alconbury and then the 14 enjoying a drink after the game at alconbury after a great win ...... :soo: BECAUSE THATS ALL WE DID

So long as the 40 people fighting (number given to me by PSL's number 1 supporter!) were eligible to fight Glen, they should be ok. Could be a problem with 1 of the Leverington players having had a fight at a bigger ground in the last 4 weeks though apparently.
1 minute to go and both team involved, so sensible solution would be to let the result stand as one of the PFA's reasoning behind our expulsion was that they wanted to avoid replays and fixture congestion, plus would it really be a good idea for the 2 teams to meet again next week?

What was the score before it was abandoned ?
Gentlemen.
I think there has now been enough mud slinging at the PFA following the decision to expel Ortonians from the competition. There has been some excellent matches played in the competition over the weekend with First Division Woodlands, Deeping Sports and Chatteris Town making the last eight. As for the Peterborough Sports versus Leverington Sports tie that will need to be dealt with by the relevent county Associations before The PFA are in the position to take any action. Clearly the clubs involved have to take a long hard look at themselves for their actions as in my opinion fighting has no place in society let alone sport.
In closing may I ask that the mud slinging stops now and allow myself and my colleagues at the PFA the opportunity to continue to run our competitions. I do not feel it is very constructive or indeed appropriate to constantly keep labouring the point on every single thread on this forum.
Gentlemen you have made your point on more than one occasion. Lets not forget that Long Sutton Athletic, Rutland Rangers Reserves, Lord Burghley, Werrington Town Reserves have all been removed from the various competitions for breaching the rules either innocently or on purpose this season and two other clubs would have been had they not lost their ties. All of these clubs have accepted the decision of the Association. So please can we now move on.?

Whatever you do in life Mark, you have to accept the consequences of your actions.
I have no need or desire to let the PFA (organisation not individuals) off lightly for a decision that ranks amoungst the worst I have ever had the misfortune to experience, and was so utterly needless.
I drew a line under the topic yesterday, but after your comments I feel a need to respond, if only in the hope that in future the PFA puts a bit more thought into its decisions and realises the damage that their desire for 15 minutes of fame has done to what has sadly become an utterly discredited competition.
Besides which this is a forum not a Northants FA appeal committee - if there were people out there who agreed with you, then they might have posted accordingly (no doubt there are some - I have managed to find a couple!)
Tommy It was a friendly and polite personal request from me not the PFA, The NFA or infact the FA to end the mud slinging I just feel that you have laboured the point for far too long and it should now be put to bed. I recognise that this is a forum for all and I would like to take part in the various discussions on it. What I don't feel is appropriate is the need to turn every single thread into your own personal crusade (your recent words not mine) to discredit The PFA and its members. Tommy it has taken an awful lot of tongue biting on my part for the last six weeks not to react and respond, but I feel that now is the time to end the subject and let others, including myself enjoy the subject matter. Remember we all do our jobs within football for nothing. Sadly recent events as led me to wonder why. As far as I am concerned this is the last comment I will make regarding this subject on this forum.

7 teams have broken the rules already Mark - and we are only in November!
Perhaps the others don't much care if they play in the PFA Cup or not - or maybe it's the rules that need looking at?
surely everyone had copies of the rules and agreed to play by them?
Personally getting a bit bored of this.
aaccept it and move on. If everyone has been treated the same, then there's no argument. Please don't go on about past precedent.

Your right! Tommy, did you know you actually playing an illegal player?

Nope Lozzaman, though it is nice that someone has come out on the other side to give the debate a little balance.
I do agree that this has been done to death now - we are out, and no amount of symphathy or peoples opinion is going to change that. This my last word on the subject again!
As you mentioned yourself, the League always takes precedence and I would rather focus on 3 fantastic performances from us on the trot - goals for 12 with none conceded. I do honestly think that Moulton are favourites and it will be tough for us to overhaul you if we lose at your place on December 10th.

Funny old week - read in ET that Blackstones were REPLAYING a UCL Cup game after playing an ineligible player in the original game - how do you feel Ortonians? - sorry but it's so funny.
Wots happening about the mass brawl at PSL & Leverington - PFA have gone very quiet on this one - draw for QF is at the weekend.
Will it have 7,8 or 9 clubs in it - throw em both out and reinstate Whittlesey under rule 7(b)iii sub section 2 clause G!

Funny old game...
I am linked with a team in the Sunday morning league... We have just been told by the PSMFL that an opposing team were caught out fielding an illegal player in our 1st game of the season..
The rules state that a Max £30 fine and Max 3 point deduction (league game!) is applicable but it's down to thier discretion (that's convenient eh!)..
Guess what?
The team in question were ordered to replay the game at their cost.
They are at home and would pay for the game anyway.... we drew the 1st game so in effect the PSMFL are giving this team a chance at 3 points and giving us the chance to lose a point... thats nice of them !
What do you guys make of that, in light of the high profile Ortonians case?
Yes I know it's a cup game v a league game, but Rules are Rules eh Tommy?

I thought that the rule allowed for the aggrieved club to decide if they want a replay or not?
If not then that is pretty stupid.

We were not even told of the ruling - I found out using the yellowjersey (sunday am footy website) that we'd had that game removed..
We contacted the PSMFL and enquired as to where our point and game played had gone!
They responded by saying the opposing team had admitted fielding an illegal player and were ordered to replay the game!
I am positive they were not going to tell us until we spotted this, we are being told we can appeal if we want but it'll cost us in time and admin , after the Ortonians result we are reluctant to appeal any decision....
This decision leaves the offending team with a chance to gain 2 points and us lose a point..
Yes I know we should look at it as a possible 3 points but what if we need a point come the end of the season?
They do as they please when they please... as a club we've accepted the ruling because we have neither the time or money to appeal.
Surely more power should lie with the teams playing and supporting local football? how can we infleunce this? any suggestions?
