So now the final games have been and passed there MUST be some movement in players. So anyone wish to confirm their loyalty to a club so early?? I am sure there are a few people that know of a few moves....................??

i know but will not say names yet but pinchbeck have been rumoured to have several big names coming to the club and some may shock many out there!

well with willis quiting and an undicided spec at hotpoint and no ortonians, looks like there could be a number of good players to be snapped up, heard huntingdon town are chasing a number of last seasons top prem players!!

will paul swannell get any and will any pboro prem players be good enough for huntingdon?

my thoughts are that there are 6 plus teams that would be good enough in ucl 1

I hope your going out running everyday bainsy boy, what date is your trial. And id like to thank mr T Cooper for giving me 3 great yrs at ortonians plus the spells we had together at hotpoint and brotherhoods and to top it off he made a dream come true at cardiff (yes i did cry when that superb ****** gerrard scored) and just to let you all know for one last time WHAT THE GREAT MAN ACHIEVED

3 years- 2 prem titles + a 3rd finish
2 PFA senior cups (would have been 3.....shut up glen)
1 HUNTS county cup winners + HUNTS runner up + semi-finalists
HUNTS premier semi-finalist
2 JACK HOGGS
And he managed to travel the world, go to the olympics and suffer a serious cock operation whilst winning the silverware

Sure there are a few that could do a good job at PNS Bainsey, but would agree that Tommy is the man they should be going for.

Never saw him play, and he seems a bit fat to have been any good, but I did see him ref and he was very good. Seemed to carry the discipline from that into management and Ortonians were always well organised and well behaved.

Biggest plus for me though was that Ortonians were not better than around 6 other sides in the league man for man, but as Glen whu has told us they won a hell of a lot in that 3 years - don't even know if PNS are looking for a manager, but one of my mates reckons that it is the only job Tommy would give up his year off for??????

NSFC
29-05-2006, 18:31
Corby Town under 18 manager has been appointed as new manager of PNS

Chris Judge
01-06-2006, 20:41
Northern Star appointment speaks volumes for people iin charge.
Last year they appointed mel who packs up almsot evey year because of pressure of work now they sign a bloke from Corby when they could have Tommy and a team could enough to have won Division One.
By the way the fourth Prem manager on the move has happened Alan Russell of Parson Drove has taken over at March and is taking six players with him
Peterborough Prem has now lost Tommy, Minette, Willis and Russell four of the best - interesting to see just how strong league is next season
perhaps Hotpoint might win it at last but they are not the favourites!

Robbo ?
01-06-2006, 22:50
hey chris judge u say hotpoint (fletton) are not favourites so who are?

Chris Judge
02-06-2006, 06:37
Perkins with the squad they are assembling and Alex in charge

Harbs
02-06-2006, 07:15
Perkins were the favorites last year pre season with the team they assembled, we didnt manage a top half finish.
You going for the managers position at Parsons then Chris? Could become the new Ortonians?

spec
02-06-2006, 08:02
Open a book then Chris I will be your first customer, ten weeks away from the start of the season, nobody knows who anyone has playing for them yet and don't give me that nonsense that players have signed for clubs already, until they put a shirt on for the first league game you will never know who is playing for who these days. Top 4 managers gone ???
One top manager has gone, talked the talk and walked the walk and he did it consistantly, offer the odds by the end of the weekend and I'll plunge in straightaway with you, Bad Judge Bookies is it called ?

Hyypia
02-06-2006, 09:27
Hi Spec, long time no speak. Just a query, have you got the same squad as the end of last season, or any1 moved on?

Chris Judge
02-06-2006, 11:35
Perkins may have been some peoples favourites last season but they certainly were not mine.
As soon as I find out what is happening at Parson Drove I will lay you a bet but Perkins and AFC Fletton will be very short prices followed by Crowland, Moulton and Pboro Sports who else can win no one really

spec
02-06-2006, 11:55
Hello Hyypia ! Couldn't tell you mate to be honest, haven't thought about it yet and far far too early to be signing anyone on yet (see previous quote !). Learnt my lesson a while back about signing players on straight after the season finishes because you only have to go back to them nearer the start and try all over again because someone has tapped them up. Well aware that 2 or 3 of my players from last season have signed or supposedly signed elsewhere and 2 of them in question did exactly the same last year and still played for me !! Funny lot you footballers.
Not remotely worried at the moment because I have always replaced players I have lost with better ones and I hope the trend continues.

Judgey you can't welch on it now by making us short price favourites or co-favourites, where's your sense of adventure.

Gino, two teams for us to enter please mate and paperwork will be with you next week as we have all the right paperwork for our new name.......

TommyC, miss your big gob hope you are ok ??

Fat Matt, probably meet you and the Budster for a beer tonight if it's still on

That's me for a while now got work to do f*** the football x

Chris Judge
02-06-2006, 13:49
The odds I offered you are bigger than Tommy had you at
But must admit with doubts over Crowland and Parson Droive who were in the top five last season it is difficult to make a book
But as I said not many real threats

Back of the Net
02-06-2006, 14:40
Surely Woodlands will be top 5?? Whittlesey also??

at this (too early) stage I'd take a wild guess at this..

Fletton 5/4
Whittlesey 7/4
Woodlands 5/2
errr Insert Moulton (sorry lads) 4/1
Oundle 4/1
Perkins 5/1
Parson D 8/1
Crowland 10/1
Alconbury 12/1
etc etc......
but what do I know ... :soo:

the odds are just a luagh before I get messages from anyone wanting cash on em... sorry I'm not laying odds at this stage - as someone has already said...
Who knows what players will be where come Sept.....

I do think 17/1 on Spain for the World cup was a steal this week tho so I had a score on it.... sorry but England have as much chance as the Mexicans in my opinion (I hope I'm proved wrong!)

carefree
02-06-2006, 18:41
back of the net. with them odds i would have £1,000 on perkins and with psl more then 17-1 £1.000 on them also.

03-06-2006, 09:25
Well, what a turn up for the books "Alex has taken over Perkins" its in a few reply's...... what's happened to Gino !!!! where has he gone.

WHO is in charge of perkins !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shame I was hoping for some free windows.

Back of the Net
03-06-2006, 09:40
£1,000 on 2 different teams??? you get paid to much!

As I said it was only a laugh and who knows what players will be where this coming season...
Ortonian lads will make 2 or 3 teams improve I'd guess
Gary Butterworth at Whittlesey should attract a few decent lads
I have a sneaky feeling Woodlands will attract a few also, and that's the same with everyone what with 4 or 5 managers moving on so who know's what it'll be like!
But from what I saw last season (limited I grant you) Perkins at 5/1 unless they sign the complete Ortonians side is about right with Fletton sure to be ahead of them in the betting along with Moulton and Whittlesey at least?????
PSL... I admit I know little of them to be honest and thats why I didn't include them in the "just for fun" betting, they'll need to sign players or improve a lot from last season though from their past results, good luck to em....

Best wishes to Crowland also after Willis' departure, I really hope they keep it together and do well again, what a shame the league seemed to want rid of him??? (can i say that?) and docked them 6 points for a seemingly nothing case and were obstructive all season from what I hear.... losing good managers is not good for the league at all, wish Dave all the best in whatever he decides to do in the future - beer soon then mate!

For the neutral like me (outside the Prem) it's already shaping up to be interesting just seeing everyone bang on about who's going where, which teams start training earliest etc etc....
All good for P'boro footy though

Harbs
03-06-2006, 11:06
Gino is still very much the mnager of Perkins Alex is joint manager i hope its going to be a good season and as everyone knows there will be plenty of chopping and changing before the first game of the season.

spec

Chris Judge
04-06-2006, 20:07
The odds you are offering Net could have you up in court for robbery the per centage on the teams you mention is 200 per cent and the usual percentage from the bookies is up to 120 on football
Those odds I offered you Spec look ultra generous in comparison pity you did not want them
I thought Whittlesey would be about 9-2 Woodlands 7-1 and Oundle 8-1 and Parson Drove 20-1
Moulton would be about right at 4-1 but 5-1 Perkins could prove to be very big if all the names turn up for the first game

Back of the Net
05-06-2006, 07:36
Not if everyone else was 500/1 or bigger it wouldn't be

carefree
22-06-2006, 06:11
think you'll find that all managers pay one way or another but not in cash! (except when players don't pay their subs and you find yourself paying the ref's fees) managers do find themselves buying drinks, sorting out players personal problems and much much more yeah? hey isn't that why players become loyal to their managers??????.

no such thing as ever just being a football manager

BLUE BOYS
22-06-2006, 14:59
there is quite abit of loyalty involved but many players still move around as an example suposedly the few jumping ship to go to hotpoint, will be intresting to see exactly which players end up where come first kick of the season as many dont keep to there word

hey robbo... I am only saying what I have heard. I heard one of your strikers plus a midfielder are going to Moulton. Your keeper is going to play for a ucl club (holbeach I think). And also, I think it was you who said that you were going to make some big signings. I have not heard about anyone signing for yourselves. Care to shed some light on that.

The Harrox
06-07-2006, 14:41
There is not 1 Pinchbeck player signed for Moulton. Shame the management dont stick to managing the team rather than slagging Moulton off all the time. Heard through the grapevine that is all they do. The way they talk they would think Pinchbeck are the bees knees but i think stats in recent years speak for themselves.

Jealousy arisen over these stats maybe???????

Mind you Harrox way you go on would have thought you had won the league and cups a few times in Peterborough
But alas I think the cupboard is bare .......at least Pinchbeck have got some photos in their clubhouse to look back on

Robbo ?
06-07-2006, 20:49
hey hcore i was only asking bout hwere you heard thats all! n as harroz said no one in pinchbeck has left for moulton however i think one player who played upfront for pbeck 1st team last season for a few games but was not good enough so played for our reserves has gone training tonight with moulton! also the pinchbeck keeper who happens to be my brother has trained with holbeach and is friends with the team and plays with them in a sunday side but has signed for pinchbeck and i am sure he will turn out for us week by week!
also The Harrox we at pinchbeck are not slagging you off your team is a good advert for local football we just have a healthy rivalry as you would hope! good look for the season the strenght of pinchbeck can be assessed by you all when the first results come through!

The Harrox

Mind you Harrox way you go on would have thought you had won the league and cups a few times in Peterborough
But alas I think the cupboard is bare .......at least Pinchbeck have got some photos in their clubhouse to look back on

So it must be quite heartbreaking to read them all and know that it may be a while before that ever happens again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How do you work out that the way i go on we have won everything???? I think if you look back it has mainly come from the Pinchbeck side of the fence about how much better you are. In fact i have said previously about what a shame it was that Pinchbeck's fortunes changed in such a short space of time, particularly being a player during those days. Now that is something that not even you could blame Moulton for.

Where have Pinchbeck finished in the last 5 years???? Better still since the league was last won (now that was a team that neither present team would have touched).

I see you made no comments on your mighty acheivements in the Lincs cup then!!!!!!!!! :soo:

Robbo, all the best to Pinchbeck in the coming season and i really do hope that things improve for the club. There is nothing wrong with some friendly banter.

Hyypia
07-07-2006, 08:09
Think i'd have to side with Moulton on this argument purely based on the past few seasons. It is irrelevant how Pinchbeck faired x amount of years ago when discussing recent seasons and the coming season.
Moulton do have the better side and have been challenging for the title in most (if not all) recent years but Pinchbeck have improved and have a good set of youngsters.
I think Carrots has got a bad taste in his mouth, what have you Moulton boys done to him?

Good luck to both sides in the coming season (and the 3rd Lincs based side who could be a dark horse again...............)

Obviously somebody whose opinions but his own dont matter. Obviously cant take a bit of ribbing either. Fists flying??? What the fcuk is all that about????????

Think you've got me mixed up with some1 else Carefree. I'm still very much with Crowland and i believe u think i'm Chad. Sorry to disappoint. I'm a centre half. Unfortunately for seperate reasons i missed both games against PSL last year but i did hear Rick had a good game during the last game. Also heard that Dean Clarke scored a peach. By all accounts PSL were the better side but one of those games u just can't win no matter what u do. It was a bit of a shame 'cos all the games after the Cup Final we only had 1/4-1/2 our full side. Rick is a quality keeper, didn't realise he'd actually signed. Someone also told me he was going to Perkins but i don't know how much truth there is in that.

Better go, got a match at 1 (in this wonderful heat, better get my factor 30 on!)

Promising result. Lets see if you can build on it going into the league season. When I saw you last term I felt that you were a team of individuals. Lets see if you can come together as a consistant team. Best of luck and well done on Tuesday.

here that crowland have lost the services of hamish curtis already, and with a few of there players training elsewere think it will be hard for them to repeat last seasons achivements but you never no. as for perkins they must of set a target of at least top 3 about right harbs although just having the stars doesnt always work that way team spirit is also needed

You are absolutely correct. its no good having the best team if they can't work together but then thats what pre season is for (fingers crossed) to iron out the creases.
It's so close now to the start of the season, 4 weeks... Lets hope it was as competitive as last year even without the might of Ortonians.

Carrots
25-07-2006, 10:34
In the Lincs Free press today it says that Hamish quit cos he could not sign the players he wanted. Only three people turned up to club meeting on Sunday and the season starts in less than four weeks
Looks like a bad time for Crowland after good season last year

I hope Crowland get sorted soon, great set of lads down there and they worked hard under Dave Willis to go up from Div 1 then finish top 5 (I think?) in their 1st season in the prem..
I guess a lot of the players Willis brought in are now the ones that are drifting now he's gone??
Not sure why he left, but they lost a great manager when he did....

A club with a proud history and still decent players attached should surely attract someone new of decent managers calibre to help out, even if only in the short term???

I've maybe 2 or 3 players of that standard that play Sundays with us and I'm asking them if they'd like to go train with them etc even if only to help out short-term, they may not want to or already signed elsewhere on Sat but if anyone else can do the same and Crowland pick up 6 or 7 decent lads from it then it could make all the difference???

I read in the Spalding newspaper that Danny Jackson on 01733 211548 or 07708 652313. is the guy to call if anyone can offer any help and/or players.....

quite right, training has been great and shows players are enjoying things when you have 25 regular at sessions not always the same 25 makes things even better, i think carefree was missing the point that i was looking at it from a personal point that butts is here for the duration. but then let him have is fun, hes used to the merrygo round at sports managers quiting and returning and making things great maybe but not being to sure you no what i mean carefree. lets get the season on. ps any chance of the new boots and kit bag i was supposed to get when signing on all clubs are doing it :soo:

28-07-2006, 07:41
Hey Blue Boys - thanks for the great idea, if I buy everyone a pair of boots at the start of the season instead of the beer after the games I will actually end up better off
As you know we need to sort out the changing facilities etc so dont think our budget will run to new boots this year, maybe a set you can hang in your car!!!!
All joking aside, my personal view is that if a club can afford to support their players in any way towards kit, thats fine - However whilst I have a say in how our club is run I will continue to ensure that we have good players insurance 1st -and then enusre that kit, training tops, tracksuits etc are provided.
Over the years whether with Blue Star or Whittlesey Utd I have always enjoyed playing at Moulton, good bunch of lads, tough games, with a beer and a chat after - just how it should be. They seem a pretty loyal bunch of guys so I suspect that they would play for the club irrespective of any freebies, and any that are available, and it sounds as if this is just one of the rumours that surface at this time of the year, are just an extra bonus.

I am not really bothered who you are carefree, I have long suspected that there has been a change of personnel with your pseudonym though as your posts went from quite serious to quite funny, then they went to very funny and now we have the aggressive carefree, must say I prefer the banter before the aggression but hey it's a free country.
Big enough ? at 6' 4 i would have to say yes, ugly enough ? now that's hurtful 'cos I always thought I was quit handsome ! hard enough ? at least you gave me the respect of questioning it (fair play to you) but at nearly 39 years of age I think I have fell out with enough people this pre-season to add another to the list and after you left a lovely little cuddly emoticon after your comments I have gone all soft now.

Al Lenihan - definitely not
Paul Cox - definitely not
Simon Brown - definitely not
Troy Brown ? - loves his football and very passionate (to say the least) during a game, but a great sport away from it so no to that as well.

Welcome back Spec, i thought u'd disappeared off the face of the Earth (although u've probably been around but not bothered entertaining the horse play that's been going on between Carefree and the Whittlesey boys plus the old favourite - Moulton and Pinchbeck, oh and not forgetting Carefree)

how do you reckon you will fare in the coming season? Obviously it would be ridiculous for me to predict anything over our performance because i haven't got a clue who is playing for us!

A brief mention over Carefree's alias, i reckon it's Al because he's trying to throw people off the scent by spelling his name completely wrong

Tommy Trophy
31-07-2006, 18:54
Notice my name pops up now and again - usually to re-enforce an insult or in a sizest capacity.

Won my first trophy of the new football free era last week - in Archery! (on a corporate day - but hey they all count).

Went out for a few jars on Sunday, and picked up who was playing for who etc. etc. - as you can imagine Spec & Gino your names were mentioned a fair bit - good to see players being as honest and loyal as last season and reminding me why I decided to take a year out to see if I missed it - not so far chaps!

I met Simon Brown down the gym a minute ago, so I think that rules him out as Carefree, who I would put in at 4/7 as Al - Carefree wherever we may be - doesn't Al support CFC?

Carefree's a fisherman !!! I am going to take up train spotting - did you hear about the train spotter who committed suicide by jumping in front of his favourite old steam engine, a railway spokesman said he was chuffed to bits.

Tommy Trophy - welcome back mate and hope you are keeping well, yes as you say the loyalty factor is still the same, have to say though this is the worst year i have known it, probably because i have been on the receiving end more though, but he who laughs last.............

Hyypia - lost all faith in human beings for a while so just been working my b******s off for a bit, will make a full return shortly - as for our chances this season we are just happy to have survived losing our club, name, sponsorship etc etc and still being in business. Consolidation is the key word this season, top 4 finish and a cup would be a success, just going to enjoy our football for once, it's getting far too serious for our level these days. Good luck to everyone this season.

Hyypia
01-08-2006, 08:57
Correct Carefree, you can't out-fox a fox!!!
You're as subtle as a sledgehammer 'cos anyone involved with PSL/Westwood would know how to spell Mr Lenihan's name.

Hope you have a good fishing trip - carp or catfish?

Agree with Spec that getting too serious, we need to concentrate on ENJOYING our football, especially when WE pay every week and NOT the club.

Harbs
01-08-2006, 10:03

01-08-2006, 10:40
What a strange statement!!! :gun: that's why Hyypia old son, with comments such as that, so many clubs struggle these days - and I include my own club in that.

The players ARE the club and vica verca. Until we all realise this we will continue to see clubs and football at our level suffer - What do you think, that its only the players who should be having fun :tears: , get real

What do you think guys like me run clubs for? We can't all have trophy laden careers like Tommy :nwy:

And before you think I am getting all too serious Hyypia - see my previous postings. I love the craic and wouldnt have changed my time in local football for the world - all I can do is to hope some of the young lads now playing for me will feel the same in twenty years, and thats what I try to get across to them.
By the way one final tip - agreeing with what everyone else says only gets you one thing - splinters in your arse

Tiredness Harbs ?? I'll tell you what was talking there young man, babysitting, mothering, wiping the arse of young players who were not fit to sit on the same team bus as me let alone play in the same side and then see them repay you by f*****g off to another side behind your back after telling you to start the club up again under another name, venue etc etc 'cos they didn't want the side to fold, I wouldn't pi** on people like that if they were on fire and they are nowhere near as good as they think they are. Bitter ?? you bet your f*****g life I am.

Anyway Harbs in answer to your question I'll do a deal with you, if you see me ranting and raving on the touchline pop over and tap me on the shoulder (even if we are playing perkins 'cos u won't be in the side  ) and I'll buy you your drinks all night, and it won't cost me a lot 'cos I remember the last time you drank with us !! 01-08-2006, 14:23
Yet again someone getting the wrong end of the stick. What i meant Bluestar is that we don't get paid to play. I understand that it takes a lot of effort behind the scenes to run a football club. We are not professional players and we play AND manage/spectate (before you start moaning again Grandad) for the love of the game, therefore we should enjoy it, but not take it too serious (we are not Chelsea or Man Utd!!) You see some managers absolutely roasting teenagers 'cos they make a mistake. I can accept a certain level of professionalism and discipline but teams cannot be run like army regiments where you fear for making an error, this just destroys people's confidence

I'm not gonna bite on your last comment so you'll have to find some1 else to go fishing with :mnn:

Yeah i know i didn't mate. It's cos i was trying to avoid the subject. I haven't got a clue really over what's happening at Crowland and i don't reckon there's hardly any Prem standard players left. Will be honest and say that i may regretfully not be a Crowland player this season. I always want to play for Crowland because it's the only adult club i've known (plus my home town until 1yr ago) and there was a good bunch there that helped us get to where we are. But they've all virtually gone and i want to play to the best of my abilities. You (collectively - not directed at you Spec me old fruit) might think i'm being selfish but i know i've always been committed to Crowland with only missing a handful of games for legitimate reasons and rarely missed training plus i was over the moon when i received THE amateur club trophy players player when we won the 1st Division. It was a great feeling and i think a hard achievement for defenders.
Had offers from a few Prem clubs but reckon i know which club i will be at shortly

No problem Al' cannot remember who wore 14 to be honest dont think it would have been deano?

Anyway enjoyed watching your side mate if you aint contesting the title this year with all them quality players... somethings wrong.

Proud of my teams efforts particularly in the first half one or two have given me food for thought for the main Starting XI fitness was key in that game.

Will keep an eye out for PBoro Sports results this season sure Bellas' will keep me informed come Sundays' Good Luck Al' see you again soon mate. :nwy:

Blueboys - as you saw on Wednesday evening Lee has enough on his plate, dealing with his baby to even begin to worry about getting on line and taking the bait of such a professional as Careless, oops sorry, Al.

Perhaps you meant my good self Al, but as I wouldnt recognise you from Adam probably not the whopper you intened to land with your subtefuge. :nwy:
