I'm hoping you have at least a couple of players missing Racing 252... we have a night out planned for Saturday so dont fancy chasing Ian Edge and Mark Paul shaped shadows for 90 mins hahaha...
Seriously though we're also really looking forward to it as it'll provide a good mark as to where we are at, our results have been very up and down playing Saturday sides last 3 or 4 weeks with lots of players unable to make it, at present we only have 4 missing for Sunday which is a massive improvement on recent weeks! Shall I sort out some food back at The Windmill afterwards mate - your boys join us?

Yeah food sounds good im sure most of the lads will go Windmill after, most of them will going anywhere for food!!

I bet all racing players don't turn up!! £5 wombat!!

you'd have collected JNE, but only just.... Think Mark Paul let em down last minute but the rest of em were there!
3 of our back 4 rolled up in the morning straight from a night out and looked like a 'car crash' before a ball was kicked - another 2 lads failed to show at all, not a good start... 4 rapid goals from 252 saw them stroll to a 4-0 nil lead and run our defence ragged... we sneak a goal right on HT and go in lucky only to be 4-1 down to be fair..
We actually turned it around though and won the 2nd half 2-1 with the final score a respectable 5-3 and with some neat football all around, the 'MEGS' were flying in everywhere hahahaha... good game in the end and once we settled I felt we held our own, shame it took 4 goals to do it though...

Did we play football this morning? Not my finest performance on an hour's sleep - but everyone has a 'one off' don't they? Used to be every week with the Star Inn eh Harbs? !!

Three of Racing's first four goals were down to individual errors from Bauer.

Nipper had a great game today. Think I got megged twice, once by Nipper and once by Ant Thomas - but got a couple in myself too!

When Rapha strolled around the corner this morning we errupted with laughter, seriously mate you looked like you'd been run over (twice) hahaha - how you made it onto the field and played I'll never know - Sid was just as bad.. and yeah 3 goals gifted to them but they simply over-ran us 1st 35 mins - credit to them as they looked very sharp..
I'd say it was more like 8 - 4 on the MEGS shout your way Harbs... was funny watching a few of em hahaha..
Good food and turnout back at The Windmill after was good to see, glad that's our home pitch and pub again this season..

We enjoyed the run out yesterday and I think most of the lads enjoyed it except for Kingston!! We started very brightly and looked very sharp like BOTN said espcially Jamie and were quickly 4-0 up and then we just seemed to coast and look for megs as the match was basicly won, Bauer did improve in the second half and closed the gap but overall we won at a canter. BOTN I think the Meg count was nearer Harbs estimation then yours but it was funny to watch, Raph you did look abit rough yesterday but fair play for playing in that state as Kingston struggled to even play 10 mins!! Good Luck to Bauer for the season & roll on Sun when the league gets underway.

Harbs your meg count was just your individual one against yourelf mate. How many times did u get megged, i turned up half way thru second half and saw 3, then left just before half time;).......

It was a good gae to watch, Comedy value was there and the football wernt bad either eh Raph? C'Mon Hoops.... remember that little fairty step over Raph pulled out when everyone was at least 15 yards away from him :D

Smooootttthhh Raph ;)

yeah you're right mate, the MEGS count was more likely higher in your favour and yeah very funny to watch, most of the MEGS were done on our lads that were more than a little worse for wear hahaha... we got a few back though which was even funnier to watch as it was unexpected... Shame we conceded 4 so early with our defence breathing alcohol over everyone or it would have been a much better game and maybe a tougher test for your lads....
Nothing I saw yesterday would change my opinion that your lads are favourites for the title this year, quality all over the park even with Edge and Paul missing.. Good luck for the season and I hope we aviod you in all cup draws for as long as possible hahaha.. was good to see you all back at the pub afterwards.

Were your players drunk at all BOTN? 3 of your defenders did look a little bad ill give you that

To be fair. What team doesnt turn up with players still steaming from the night before???Anyone know Lord Westwood??!!haha. All in the same boat really, just what degree of the scale you come in at.Your either many of the Netherton boys or a Mr Skerrit or Mr Wilder!!

Game yesterday reflected a couple of things for us.The main one being we are still gonna struggle to get a full team out as per usual no matter how many people are supposedley signed on.

Thought the game was dead and buried by half time.If we had kept on in a serious nature then prob talking double figures.fair play to Bauer for not folding like Harbs at one of his many poker tournaments though!! It was a good laugh and take out of it what you want I guess.

Dont like the fact certain people are gettin carried away with the whole Northants cup again.Yes its the highest accolaid to win at this level (I think) but surely thats obvious. It shouldnt over shadow the rest of the season mind you.

Think it will be the usual suspect again.Westwood,Netherton and now 252 but dont count out the rest of the teams to pick up some good results along the way.Limetree are a close bunch of lads who have played together for a few seasons now.I think The Shoes may have a couple of decent players and the old guard of Royal Mail have been there done it with Nags aswell so.

Cups will be interesting too as if its possible to draw SSPIO then whoever does could be in trouble. They will storm that league and prob take some Prem scalps in the cup along the way.

Good luck all.

Sneeks you only had to look at Sid and Raph getting changed to know how bad a state they were in hahaha, it wasn't a pretty sight, our boys enjoy the ale and we all turn up in various states throughout the season but those 2 in particular were totally hanging and that's our centre back pairing, not good when you're facing 252...
We did get a lot from it though and it was a good laugh so well worthwhile, if/when we get knocked out of the Northants I'd certainly wish the 252 lads all the best.

Nipper, I agree with your SSPIO comments, wouldnt want them in the cup at all to be honest.

Nipper, there is p1ssed and then there was me, Ryan and Sid. It is one thing having a hangover - that happens most weeks, but we took it to a whole new level on Sunday. With our team all on form and our first choice back four, I regret to inform you that it won't be double figures and I fancy us to get something from the fixture. Wait and see ;)

(I still love you though and you'll probably get at least one megs against me!)

Harbs
02-09-2008, 08:38
doube figures - maybe not if you actually try next game but 7 or 8 is on the cards!
as nipper says some of our lads were a bit messy with Kingy unable to figure out which leg to swing at the ball, Ant spent the whole game asking to be subbed.
Quinney - well he wasnt drunk but looked it.

oh but tyler did come on and dominate in the air against Tom ha ha...
6 attempts at headers 0 won - 100% though T

:nono::nono::batr:Forgive me but in my old age I seemed to have missed something, I'm really quite puzzled at the relevance and importance of "megs" Somebody please tell me when did "megs" last win a cup or a league title, when was "megs " ever top scorer in the league. The sooner we lose this " Soccer AM " mentality and get back to basics where control, passing and scoring goals used to be important the better, as far as I'm concerned you can stick your "megs" "keepy uppies" and "crossbar challenges" where Foggy's tongue is alledgely a lot of the time.By the way I do think providing 252 can get a team out every week then they will do well. Harbs before I retire do you think I might see you play a full ninety, or is that too much to ask.Don't care who wins the county cup as long as it's a Peterborough team. Agree wholeheartedly with what's being said about SSPIO providing they hold onto their players, best of luck to Starks and Alec, top blokes. Good luck to all on Sunday Mornings hope it's a good competitive season for all.P.S. Why is this in Saturday talk and under the heading Bauer vs Eye, wake up you moderators, pay attention.

Deepest apologies Harbs just that didn't see anything of you in the second half, thought you'd been subbed, sorry mate, Nico when I was younger never ever had a vicious beating from anyone(hard ba*st*rds in my day) the vicious beatings coincided with my marital status changing.
