There is no doubt that Pearl were a force to be reckoned with especially as they broke the stranglehold of Eye United. However the defence of the title they put up was a disappointment even allowing for their top three finish they did finish 21 points off the pace. In my opinion (cause you have to say that now  ) Eye United have been the best side over the last ten years 30 wins out of 30 says it all and I think a playing record over four seasons, which led to their eventual promotion must surely swing it:

Played 120
Won 101
Drew 9
Lost 10
For 433
Ag 100
GD +333
Points 311 (out of 360)

Alright Andy Gray, you've got the benefit of all the statistics. I have to agree though. 30 wins from 30 is no mean feat.

Certainly been Ortonians for the past 3 years, but facts don't lie and it has to be Eye United when looking back over 10 years.

It's funny (and good) how the league has been spread around in that period and I suspect that with the emergence of Crowland & Parson Drove along with the improvements at Hotpoint & Alconbury and poor old perenial bridesmaids Moulton there will be some completely different names emerging in the next 10

Eye United for me by a country mile, although the standard over the last ten years of other clubs has been poor to say the least, last season, this season and definitely next season has seen a brilliant improvement in standards as our brilliant league goes from strength to strength

It's also interesting to see fluctuating fortunes of sides. When we won the league 2 years ago we were facing a strong Leverington side (they finished 3rd), a much stronger Uppingham, Wimblington OB & Oundle as well as Emneth Seniors who gave us 3 cracking games.

Last year Whittlesey went from 11th to 1st with pretty much the same side (and back to nearly 11th this year!)

This year has certainly been the strongest of the 3 with Parson Drove & Crowland as well as Alconbury largely responsible. I think all 3 of them will be in the mix next year alongside Hotpoint & Moulton.

Reserve judgement on Whittlesey & Perkins as I think they are too far away at the moment - will be interesting to see how Woodlands fair - top half for me in a bedding in season or better aka Crowland?

Strange comment to come out last night regarding Whittlesey and Perkins, if I had the players for next season that I wanted I would like to be challenging for the Premier title with the likes of Chelsea Man U Arsenal and Liverpool !
