On Saturday my lads played alconbury res in comb div 2 .
Good game , i think that they have certainly improved over the past 2 seasons.
Anyway , i thought i would share this point with and too see if any other wierd scenario's have occured elsewhere this w'end ??

we were loosing 2-1 midway through the 2nd half, we attcked the bury goal most of the 2nd half ( wind assisted )
picture this .. i have just levelled the game .. 2-2 .. then JB gets a third and turns out to be the winner ....

Now for those people out there who really know of me , i'm honest and fair but likes a good game .. we were on the attack and pressing for a 4th when my striker ( innsy ) belted the ball at the goal , hit their centre half and then pinged off insy's legs .. blatent as the eye could see ( and everyone at alconbury village green too ) Goal kick .....No the ref then decides to gives US a corner ??/ :conf:
So i politely advise the ref that he's got it wrong and i'm being fair and telling him that it's a goal kick .... next thing i know i'm getting a lecture on how i'm the ref and what he saw is final !!!! and nearly got booked for being honest . how crazy is that ...?????????????

Biffy you can not win with this one mate. For example I was refereeing a friendly game a couple of seasons ago when I awarded a goal kick only for a defender to laugh at me and say it had hit him last and that it should have given a corner. I thanked him for this and as I had not restarted play I decided to correctly award the corner. The grief I got from the player after that almost led to me dismissing him.

Well done for being honest.

Id have booked you aswell Biff

Ive witnessed games, similar situation to that, and the referee just didnt like being told he was wrong, and cautioned the player who had the pleasure of telling him

Ive even been involved in the same situation, given a corner when it should have been a goal kick, but i just stuck to my original decsion, after being told that ive made the wrong decision, wouldnt have dreamt of dishing out a yellow card for it though. I like to stick to my decisions and not changemy mind though, but thats just me

This post probably doesnt make any sense, but meh, ive been at work since 10 last night, and am now in need of sleep
