Thought id post this up

Thought the sending off of Distin by Rob Styles was shocking, for once a spokesman from the team questioned a decision, and gets sent off. Ill put good money down, that if there had been a crowd, then nothing would have happened.

Didnt catch all of the scouse derby, but would i be right in saying there were 7 yellows and 2 reds? Another shocker from Phil Dowd??

Don't agree Ross. The referee clearly asked the player to hand him the ball atleast twice and his actions were IMO a demonstration of a lack of respect for the referee. Deservedly cautioned and as a result sent off for two cautions.

Did anyone see Julio Arca for Sunderland marking out 10 yds himself? He did it 3 times and even told his team mates to delay the free kick - it was well funny!! (ended up with a Caution though)

Was comical, it did make me chuckle, do you think it was rehearsed, as thats what the bbc pundits thought

He was really animated at the time. Jumping about and stamping his feet like one of those kids off Super Nanny. Surprised he didn't pick the ball up and say "Right, i've had enough, i'm taking my ball home so no one can play!!"

in all fairness to him though he clearly marked out "only 7 yards" but the ref wasn't gonna accept he was wrong and move the wall back!

After watching the weekends action I think Mr Styles went over board with his reaction to Distin of Man City. At half time Distin went over and was non-confrontational towards Styles. He didnt go over shouting and appeared calm from the tv replays. Maybe he should have been more angry and in Styles face, then there would have been no further cards.
I dont think Mr Styles did any referees any favours by his reaction at the weekend.

In my opinion, Rob Styles is more interested in the way the media perceive him and wanted the cameras to pick up on him during that game.

I was at the Man Utd vs Birmingham game on Sunday and felt that the referee did well - gave a good performance and was rarely noticed.
