A spectacular game to watch....if your a Kings Cliffe fan.

It really was a game of two halves; which was intentional without revealing too much.

First ten we went out rather fast paced and were on top after ten minutes, a nice diagonal ball from midfield for right winger to run onto; ran across area towards goal and smashed into net. Ten minutes later Uppingham have a free kick from near touch line, perfect ball into the box attacked very well, a clean header puts them even. Our hearts minds and souls seem to to drop abit and we lose a bit of shape, worsened by another free kick just outside area driven along the ground finds its way through the players hits far post and bobbles in. Half time Uppingham 2, Kings Cliffe 1.

A few changes at half time to give other players a run and to play more attacking football. Everything really did pull together at this point, everyone started doing what they were supposed to do and it worked very well indeed. Our movement on and off the ball was exceptional, passing was spot on, everyone wanted the ball and wanted to win. A very tidy goal from a free kick, a one on one with another right winger, and two goals from inside the box, crosses from wing positions see us finish off the game triumphantly.

Both teams only had a couple players missing. In all honesty I could not find a star player for this game, they all put in so much effort. It was great to see them play and we are very proud of them all.

Justifiable win. I think the three quick fire goals at the start of the second half certainly killed the game.We did have players missing in key positions and are still trying to shuffle people about, but it was no excuse for a lack lustre second half. With a lot of the squad available for the game against Cottesmore tomorrow night, we will truly know how far we have come (or got to go !).Good luck for the season, you should be aiming for a top five finish at least.ps. I agree, the delivery of the free kick for our first was really quite sensational !

Considering we lost to Uppingham with PSL last season, this is a good result. Good to see that you are developing a goal-scoring side Yankee and Jimmy.

Thanks guys.

Ooo Dear, dont suppose I have to guess who delivered that sublime ball!!

There is no question that we are pushing for a top two position. It will be tough but...if the team wants it enough!

It's an interesting division. Eye look very strong and are favourites for me. Ketton have a new manager in Shane Milner and he may have a surprise outfit. Coates look quite strong and you can't overlook Netherton and Stilton. You never know with Long sutton and Warboys are obviously rejuvenated. Could be tight. Puts pressure on the Premier Division teams, as I don't think there will be any escape from the drop this season !
