Interesting game finishing with a score 1-3

We passed and moved well across the pitch although their passing was slightly crisper. One goal to them in the first half was a commincation break down between a defender and the goal keeper, a back pass which ended up costing us. We created numerous chances in both halves and had at least as many as Deeping, if not more. We had a one on one which should have resulted in a goal, but didnt. In the second half a rather blatant foul from another of our defenders left a penalty kick awarded against us. Our keeper saved the intial penalty but not the rebound, finished by the original penalty kick taker. We really did play some good football, and we were most impressed at our fitness level and lack of fatique througout the match. A bit of a scramble around the edge of the box saw a nice shot slotted past the Deeping keeper from one of our potential forwards. It was 1-2 with not too many minutes left when a Deeping striker burst through and put one away, finishing the game Kings Cliffe United 1 Deeping Rangers United 3. Two goals gifted by two mistakes.

We were most encouraged that Deeping allegedly had four usually first teamers playing in that game, although you can never be too sure about those kind of statements; however, even more encouraging was that we had four first teamers missing! I have no doubt that with a full squad we are capable of performing significantly better. Potentially we will have a couple players back this week, needed for our friendly Saturday against Uppingham, away. Looking forward to it.

Really can't wait until the first game of the season!

At Deeping (7pm start) and should be good!! We have a few missing but should give a good account of ourselves as Shay/Mark building a talented squad at PNS res and some that are fighting for places have the chance to put their case forward tonite against one of our title rivals!!

Hoping to get second half but will see!

Drew 4-4 last night despite missing a few players and starting appallingly by being 3-0 down int he first half. I was not there due to wedding commitments and by all accounts we were awful in the first half but absolute mustard in the second

Still undefeated and got some hard games coming up with Crowland, Alconbury and Yaxley res which should put us right for the first game away at St Ives.

Well done, especially to come back from 3-0. Must have been a good half time team talk!

yep, same lad Davey... and yes he's with us again this term, if you can get him playing on a regular basis he is a devasting player, only problem is he works weekends and is subject to going AWOL... good lad though, his brother Dean plays for us too and I believe he was looking for a Saturday side a while back - 100m in 12 seconds..

Yeah, Dean will do 100m in 12 seconds and also 200m in 90 mins!

He did 100m, then realised the medic was 100m in the other direction, so had to return again!

Dean M. told me deano did it in like 10 seconds. Apparently karl is considering Yaxley res i believe, spoke to them both, but as you say sats is a problem for them at the mo but may change. Wanted someone with a bit of pace up front.

You should have asked Dave, before I signed for SSPIO hahahaha...
Dean D ran 50m and then turned round a cone and 50m back in 12 seconds, I've seen quick but that really did impress me!
Seriously though, karl and dean are both easily good enough, but for Saturdays you'd really struggle to get them playing more than 2 games in a row....

Get yourself down powerleague etc and tap up some of the young lads down there, some are lightning quick and would just need work on stamina to be good enough?
