Does anybody know of a seniors league in or around Peterborough?

Cheers

Please remember this is PETERBOROUGH!!!!!!!

We have Werrington Sports and Lesuire, and Bretton (no civilised changing here), as volume football facilities, the dreadful Bushfield (now being re laid in the cheapest least cost efficient manner), and the seriously knackered Embankment for small sided football.

The total lack of any maintenance by PCC and / or their agents for many years, is the cause of the state of both small sided pitches.

Even in the massive city of Oundle, obviously thousands of miles away, there are two new astroturf facilities.!!!!!!!

Re the proposed (for the last 5 years), vets league, until and / or unless demand is real, the nearest leagues are in the Kettering, Corby, Northampton and Wellingborough.

Futsal the FIFA 5 a side game, incorporates vets and ladies football, but the nearest facility is 50 miles away.

The City of Peterborough appears to be "off the map" regarding Football Development facility grants, just look at Focus!!

Question. Has anyone ever thought the reason for the lack of development within the Peterborough region is down to the lack of development from within the Peterborough FA? Does anyone know of any person, under the age of 50, that represents the league in anyway, or who may be in touch with the developing areas of the game?

Interesting point, Magic man.

Peterborough is a difficult area as it is multi County ...Lincs / Cambs / Northants / Norfolk / Leicester / Hunts. We are in the far East of the Northants area, and the NFA trialled a Football Development/Focus development officer for nearly two years here, that, in my opinion, was neither utilised by the local players/coaches/clubs, nor supported when courses were run.

The PFA is basically a Challenge Cup organisation, that also is leaseholder, I believe, for Focus.

If you require help on Development on or off the field of play, contact your affiliated County where Development Officers appear to be aplenty.

If I can advise, guide, or help in any way please contact me by email

Many thanks for the explanation NJ. My gripe is more with the lack of movement in pushing the game forward within the county. As you say it is complicated, however when I read the paperwork prior to the PFA AGM this summer I couldnt believe that the accounts had only just been computerised! Doesnt that just show just how much development is needed internally, never mind out on the field.

Please look at northamptonshirefa.com, where you can read the 2008-2012 strategic plan, some points of which will hopefully give you some understanding of development, and the acknowledgement of our problems locally, with strong aims to be completed.
